You Are Deep in The Stars - Chapter 54
As Wang Yuanchen said, there was basically no information on the Internet about who the director of the Beidou Research Institute was. There was only a solitary name—Liang Yi—that looked very much like Anonymous.
“Could it be a high-level national official?” Liu Chunchun brought a plate of fruit in front of him. “It’s the kind that appears in the news, so it’s not convenient to disclose it.” After all, in public, it was necessary to not let people know that important government figures worked part-time in a crop research institute.
“It’s possible.” Bai Xi held his head with one hand. “But no matter who he is, as long as he is confirmed to be an opponent of Deputy Director Feng Qi and a supporter of Zhou Yong, that’s enough. I have to find him.”
“How are you going to find him? Search the Internet or post missing persons notices on the streets?” Wang Yuanchen came over with his teacup and placed it in front of Liu Chunchun with a “dong” sound. “With all due respect, your plan seems to have no clues.”
“But there are at least two insiders now,” Bai Xi said. “Feng Qi and Zhou Yong. Others may know nothing about the inside story, but they must know what is going on.”
“Okay.” Wang Yuanchen nodded. “Even if they know about it, which one are you going to find? One is an enemy, and the other may be undergoing the biggest test in his life at this time, and his future attitude toward people with superpowers is unknown. And there is Zhou Jing here. According to Shi Tian’s usual methods, he will probably use her to threaten Zhou Yong and make him keep his tail between his legs from now on.”
Bai Xi frowned slightly and said no more. Liu Chunchun silently pinched Wang Yuanchen behind his back. ‘Can you be a little more tactful?’
Mr. Wang was determined to retaliate and turned Liu Chunchun’s hair into an angry chicken coop.
Half an hour later, Han Zhuo came to pick up Bai Xi, and the two returned to the apartment on Xinghai Road together.
“Are you hungry?” After entering, Bai Xi helped him hang up his coat. “I’ll cook for you.”
“You?” Han Zhuo smiled. “When did you learn to cook?”
“It’s not difficult.” Bai Xi sat down on the sofa and poured him another cup of hot tea. “At least I can cook a bowl of noodles.”
“I’m fine.” Han Zhuo said.
“Of course, I know you’re fine.” Bai Xi grabbed his face with both hands. “Why, is it so rare that I take the initiative to cook, so it must be you not doing fine?”
Han Zhuo smiled. He didn’t say anything but stretched out his hand to pull the person into his arms, hugging him tighter and tighter.
Bad night; luckily with nice people.
The room was bright and quiet. The star wall clock on the wall swayed; the second hand turned once, and the minute hand turned once again.
Bai Xi took out the blanket and gently covered the sleeping Han Zhuo. He slipped into the kitchen and cooked a bowl of hot noodles. He wanted to give this man more warmth, more comfort, and more security. Although it sounded a bit fanciful, at some point, the rebellious little monster also wanted to protect the powerful Ultraman.
An hour later, the kitchen was in a mess. Bai Xi woke Han Zhuo up on the sofa and religiously held out a bowl of noodles, like a primary school student who handed in his final homework and was waiting for the teacher’s praise.
“You can order takeout next time.” Han Zhuo looked at the band-aid on his hand and asked, dumbfounded, “Why did you cut green vegetable?”
“To be honest, there was actually a plate of fried shredded pork, but it was burnt,” Bai Xi replied. “So, the trash can help you enjoy it.”
Han Zhuo held his wrist, leaned in, and kissed it. “But I really feel bad for you.”
“Just feel it then. Here.” Bai Xi handed him the chopsticks.
Han Zhuo took a sip of soup and nodded. “Not bad.”
Bai Xi asked, “Not bad?”
Mr. Han corrected himself skilfully. “I have never eaten anything so delicious.”
Bai Xi was laying on the dining table and laughing.
A small star fell on the dining table instead of a floating candle, making this dinner warmer and more romantic. Of course, Mr. Han still cleaned up the kitchen after the meal. He cleaned the burnt bottom of the pot, wiped the spilled oil, and replaced the messy condiments. Then he looked at the suspicious black stains on the ground and accepted his fate. He picked up the mop.
The troublemaker had already gotten into bed at this time and was looking through the old files on his phone. It was the information about the superpowers that Bai Boyang had found before. However, there was still no mention of Liang Yi, and he couldn’t even find a similar name.
“What are you looking at?” Han Zhuo lifted the quilt. “Are you so bored all alone?”
“Nothing, just some old information.” Bai Xi sat up. “What took you so long?”
“You broke three of my bowls.” Han Zhuo squeezed his face with both hands. “And you even hid them secretly.”
Bai Xi’s eyes wandered. “Oh.”
“Little rascal.” Han Zhuo didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. He took off his glasses and was about to lift the quilt and go to bed when Bai Xi’s cell phone started to vibrate again.
