Yandere girls and my fragmented daily life - Chapter 6
The blaring horns of vehicles jolted Ling Fan back to reality. He had arrived at the last traffic light before his home. Ling Fan reflected on his current situation, realising that he had entered the second semester of junior high school.
It had been nearly a year since he started this tutoring gig. Thanks to his help, Su MoRan’s academic performance saw a remarkable improvement. Thanks to her strong family connections and her exceptional academic performance, she was able to secure a spot in the advanced class at DeYu Middle School. Due to her exceptional performance, Ling Fan was rewarded with a generous bonus from the Su family.
Ling Fan had initially intended to call it quits once Su MoRan’s last lesson was completed. He planned on informing Su Wen that he would not be coming for any more lessons in the future.
Su Wen thought it was because Su MoRan was being disobedient and planned to call Su MoRan in to scold her. Seeing the situation, Ling Fan quickly clarified that given Su MoRan’s impressive academic achievements and strong foundation, she was more than capable of managing her studies independently, so his continued presence wasn’t necessary.
Su Wen naturally disagreed. She was very pleased with Ling Fan’s performance. To her, Ling Fan knew when to advance and retreat, understood gains and losses, never overstepped boundaries, and never took a day off.
When it came to teaching, Su MoRan was always able to get the answers she needed from him, and he carried out his responsibilities with great diligence. Su MoRan’s improved grades were closely tied to Ling Fan’s efforts.
Ling Fan received an impeccable evaluation from Su Wen.
When Su MoRan learned that Ling Fan wasn’t planning to continue teaching, she burst into tears. This unexpected reaction left Ling Fan bewildered and sparked a series of minor complications.
As a result, Ling Fan’s hopes of having more time for gaming were completely destroyed.
As for Xu YanRan, her grades have improved significantly. From being at the bottom of her class, she had moved to a middle-upper ranking. Xu Zhonghao was so pleased with Ling Fan that he couldn’t help but smile from ear to ear. There was nothing that brought more joy to a father than witnessing the steady improvement in his child’s grades.
However, Xu YanRan’s tricks were becoming more numerous, and Ling Fan was struggling to keep up. But since Xu YanRan still had a long way to go before high school, Ling Fan couldn’t help but feel a sense of helplessness.
Moreover, Xu Zhonghao was generous, frequently giving bonuses, which firmly tied Ling Fan to Xu YanRan.
Thinking about this, Ling Fan couldn’t help but get a headache.
Fortunately, thanks to these two families, Ling Fan is now able to live a relatively comfortable life.
Before he knew it, Ling Fan had returned to his humble abode. His room was not exceptionally tidy, but it was also not messy.
Ling Fan tossed his backpack onto the bed and stretched out in a large, relaxed position.
“I haven’t checked my status for quite some time. Let’s take a look,” Ling Fan muttered to himself, pulling up his status panel.
“Hmm?!” Ling Fan was surprised to see that his Charm stat now had an additional plus sign.
After Su MoRan successfully entered DeYu Middle School, Ling Fan received a stat point, but he hadn’t been able to allocate it. Neither Intelligence nor Charm could be increased at that time.
Ling Fan hadn’t given it much thought. He was content with the stats he had. His high Intelligence made studying easy, and his Charm, which was glowing at around seventy to eighty per cent, hadn’t made much of a difference — except for making him slightly more noticeable. Ling Fan continued with his original plan to avoid public activities as much as possible.
Ling Fan had no desire to stand out. Engaging in such activities proved to be exhausting and detracted from his precious moments of relaxation. Unless absolutely necessary, he preferred to steer clear of them and quietly live his life as a salted egg.
Seeing the extra plus sign on his Charm stat but not on Intelligence suggested that this point was allocated to Charm.
After some thought, Ling Fan decided to allocate this point to Charm. Occasionally, Charm can prove to be quite useful.
Thinking back to when he was still looking for a job, his charm stats did provide some help.
Ling Fan allocates this point to his Charm. As for the remaining skill points from before, Ling Fan had previously assigned them to the teaching skill, levelling it up to LV2. He felt that LV1 of this skill was somewhat insufficient.”
As soon as he allocated the point, Ling Fan noticed something unusual. His Charm attribute, previously at seventy to eighty percent, was now fully lit, just like his other attributes.
“Huh? This doesn’t seem quite right,” Ling Fan couldn’t help but furrow his brow.
There should be no problem, and this shouldn’t be considered a negative stat. Ling Fan sighed in relief as he recalled the benefits that the charm stat had previously provided for him and decided not to worry about it any longer.
“Let’s go out and figure out dinner,” Ling Fan said as he locked the door and headed out to find something to eat.
Tomorrow is Saturday, so Ling Fan decided to treat himself to a nice meal today. With this in mind, he arrived at a food street not far from the school.
“Oh, isn’t this Ling Fan? Are you here for dinner, too?”
A somewhat familiar voice interrupted Ling Fan’s thoughts as he was pondering which restaurant to choose.
It was Liu SiYu, the class monitor from Class 221. Ling Fan had a strong impression of this girl. In his memory, Liu SiYu had somewhat short hair, but it was longer than a very short bob.
She wore a pink butterfly hairpin on the left side of her head, and with her height of 158 cm, she gave off the impression of a cute short-haired girl, which would make people think,’ Isn’t this my childhood friend from back then!?’.
Yes, that was the impression she gave.
As for why the voice sounded so familiar…
Because Ling Fan often didn’t participate in group activities, Liu SiYu frequently reached out to him.
No wonder it sounded familiar. It turned out to be the class monitor. Thinking about how close this place was to the school, it wasn’t very surprising to bump into a classmate here. Ling Fan watched the girl, who was waving at him from a short distance, and pondered for a moment.
“Yeah, it’s the weekend tomorrow, so I was thinking of treating myself today,” Ling Fan said, deciding not to pretend he hadn’t noticed her. After all, he wasn’t blind, so pretending wouldn’t work.
As soon as Ling Fan finished speaking, Liu SiYu swiftly approached him.
She appeared more adorable than before, and her hair had noticeably grown.
Ling Fan thought to himself as he looked at Liu SiYu in front of him.
“What a stroke of luck to run into you during dinner. And we seem to have the same thought. How about eating together.” Liu SiYu said, her face slightly flushed, inviting Ling Fan to join her for dinner.
“Well, since it’s the class monitor inviting me, I will, of course, accept the invitation. I’ll treat you.”
Liu Siyu gave Ling Fan a good impression. Even though Ling Fan had skipped many class activities to go off on his own, Liu Siyu didn’t impose much blame. Or rather, Ling Fan felt a sense of guilt towards her.
“Really? I can eat a lot! You’d better not worry about your wallet, hehe…” Liu SiYu said, her eyes shining with excitement upon hearing Ling Fan’s agreement.
“Ahem, it’s alright, it’s alright. Even if you eat me into bankruptcy today, I’ll accept it,” Ling Fan said; even someone with his thick skin couldn’t withstand that gaze.
“Don’t worry, I’m not as exaggerated as you think. I know a Western restaurant with great food. Come on, I’ll take you there,” Liu Siyu said, then took Ling Fan’s hand and headed in a certain direction.
This action would definitely catch the attention of other classmates. Ling Fan attempted to free himself from Liu SiYu’s grip, but her hold remained firm, making it challenging to break free without resorting to excessive force.
Fortunately, since it was Friday, both Ling Fan and Liu SiYu were dressed casually.
Ling Fan thought for a moment and then decided to let Liu Siyu be.
