The Way of Life for a Terminal S-Class Hunter - C89
“Sorry to interrupt the nice atmosphere, but we’ll depart again.”
Antonio said gruffly. His serious work attitude made my face redden even more.
The surroundings rippled. This time, the movement took over fifteen minutes. Probably because it was the last one, covering the longest distance.
“We’ve arrived.”
The administrator looked me over once more and suddenly grabbed my hand. As I widened my eyes in surprise, the administrator quickly let go, as if their job was done.
“I’ve marked you. If any incident occurs and Baek Woo-hyun is nearby, I’ll receive an alert. I hope you won’t do anything foolish while in our country.”
So it was a kind of warning. Unlike the guild members who liked me, the administrator was cold and meant they would track me quickly if I caused trouble.
“Don’t worry!”
Aitana waved to the departing administrator, urging them several times.
“Don’t feel too bad. It’s their job.”
“No, it’s understandable.”
Rather, I was grateful they let me off this easily. I waved my hand at Aitana to indicate not to worry.
“Then let’s go to our guild lodgings! The guild master is waiting eagerly for you.”
I thought Aitana was just exaggerating playfully with those words. However, upon arriving at the lodgings, I realized that expression wasn’t an exaggeration at all. Fiesta’s guild master, Isabella, dressed in a suit and accompanied by guild members, immediately hugged me warmly when she saw me.
“I’ve been waiting! Your face looks quite injured. I heard the Ihwa guild master oppressed you a lot. Rest as much as you need. Have you eaten?”
I was overwhelmed as she spoke without pause.
“Step back a bit. You’re making him uncomfortable.”
Lee-han warned her irritably, looking at her.
“Am I making you uncomfortable, Woo-hyun?”
“Ah, of course not.”
When I denied it, Isabella said, “But he says so?” and hugged me tightly once more. I saw Lee-han gritting his teeth. Thinking he might misunderstand if I left it like this, I gently pushed Isabella away. She stepped back from me, smiling without any embarrassment.
“First, I’ll show you to your rooms. Then let’s eat together.”
Isabella walked a few steps ahead. When she was far enough away, Lee-han whispered a question to me.
“That person seems interested in you, doesn’t she? We should be careful.”
I couldn’t help but smile at the question.
Lee-han was cute, seriously advising me while completely missing the mark.
“No, she’s not.”
“You’re too oblivious to notice. That’s 100% interest in you.”
I didn’t want to speak rashly about other people’s affairs, but if I left it like this, Lee-han’s misunderstanding would deepen endlessly.
“Guild Master Isabella is married to Aitana.”
“What?”
Lee-han shouted loudly in genuine surprise, then covered his mouth. I decided to show evidence to drive the point home.
“Didn’t you see they’re wearing matching wedding rings? They’re quite famous as a lovey-dovey couple among hunters.”
Lee-han gaped, looking back and forth between Isabella and Aitana, then muttered, “I thought they were both interested in you.” It was nonsense. Isabella, who had been walking far ahead, suddenly turned around. She must have overheard our conversation but didn’t show any sign of it.
“Here we are. Room 302 is for Woo-hyun, and 303 is prepared for the young man.”
Isabella opened the door with a playful expression. She had a mischievous side and liked teasing people. Seeing her gaze constantly on Lee-han, it seemed he was her target this time.
Still, teasing like that meant she liked him. It was a good thing, as there was nothing bad about getting close to the Fiesta guild.
Lee-han might not like being teased, but even I found it difficult to deal with this guild’s master, so I couldn’t help him.
“Thank you for being so considerate, Isabella.”
“It’s really nothing. You can stay for a month, a year, even ten years if you want. As the guild master of Fiesta, how could I not do this much for someone who saved my life!”
Isabella was always a generous person. That’s probably why her guild members followed her well.
“I’m glad you think that way.”
“Hurry and unpack, then come out. We need to eat, and you’ll need a way to communicate from here, right? You’ll want to know how the situation is developing.”
For the past few months when I thought I was going to die soon, I believed I had no one around me. But when the threat actually came, there were so many people willing to help. For a moment, I felt I had lived without paying enough attention to those around me. As I stood unable to answer, my throat tight, Isabella pushed me into the room.
“Alright. I’ve prepared an amazing meal, so come to the dining room by six o’clock.”
“Okay.”
With that, Isabella left, telling me to unpack comfortably.
“Lee-han, let’s meet in front of the door at five minutes to six.”
“Okay.”
When I spoke to Lee-han, who was still in front of my room, he nodded hesitantly and entered the room next door he was assigned. After confirming no one was in the corridor, I closed the wide-open door. The room was a two-room suite, not feeling like it was meant for single occupancy. It was probably a room for hunters who traveled in pairs. Yet they gave us separate rooms for our convenience.
I really didn’t expect them to be this considerate.
The unexpected hospitality left me dazed. I should unpack, but I lay down on the bed. I was still in disbelief. This morning I was in Seo-heon’s arms, and now I was in Portugal, nine hours ahead in time zone.
I wonder what Seo-heon is doing.
Thoughts I had been consciously avoiding during the journey bubbled up. Feeling like I might get caught up in useless thoughts again, I abruptly got up.
“Let’s just unpack.”
My luggage consisted of only the backpack Lee-han had prepared for me. Still, I felt I needed to do something physical. When I opened the bag, it was quite full of various items, probably due to a compression item. Seeing that everything was new, I figured Lee-han must have bought them.
“How did he know my size.”
Especially the clothes he prepared – the dark tones I often wear, soft textures, sizes that aren’t too tight – everything was thoughtfully chosen. I held back tears that threatened to fall, grateful for the care he put into preparing everything for me.
After taking out the clothes, I found even small daily necessities like toothbrushes prepared inside. These were things I would have needed immediately if I hadn’t come to this guild. It seemed he had prepared a Plan B in case I refused to come to the Fiesta guild. As I took out and organized the items inside, the promised time quickly approached.
“I’ll organize the rest when I get back.”
Only about half was organized, but the appointment came first. I opened the door at the exact time, and Lee-han was coming out simultaneously.
“We came out at the same time.”
“Yeah.”
Having just opened the bag, I hesitated on how to start talking. I pondered for a while whether it would be better to thank him or to put up a wall saying not to treat me too well. But seeing Lee-han looking at me, I couldn’t bring myself to say harsh words.
“Thank you, Lee-han.”
It felt like I’d spend the whole day just saying thank you.
“What are you thanking me for?”
Lee-han asked, pretending to be gruff.
“Thank you for coming with me, and for thoughtfully packing my luggage.”
“Don’t thank me for such small things. I can do better.”
Lee-han had been appealing to me all day today. I decided to steel my heart.
“Lee-han, but… how about you go back after we eat? If you return now, it might not be discovered that you helped me escape.”
Lee-han narrowed his eyes and showed his disappointment.
“I came all this way, and you want to send me right back? I’m really tired.”
Despite saying that, Lee-han didn’t look tired at all. He actually looked quite energetic.
“And are you worrying about me now?”
Remembering our earlier conversation, I waved my hands as if making an excuse.
“No, it’s not worry.”
“I’ll let it slide this once.”
Lee-han pouted and said, “Let’s just go eat.” I found it strange how much Lee-han’s attitude towards me had changed since I woke up. It felt like I was being dragged along.
Maybe I’ve lost too much dignity as an older brother.
It was different from just becoming more proactive. Still, I didn’t dwell on it too long, thinking it was better than him being uncomfortable.
“Woo-hyun! Over here.”
As we arrived at the guild lobby, Aitana waved to call us over.
“The dining room is this way.”
Following her guidance, the dining room of this good guild was quite spacious and clean. Particularly, there were signs everywhere of special attention paid to the kitchen, suggesting they considered eating important. As if they had been waiting, many trays loaded with food came out of the kitchen. Among them, the largest tray held an enormous Peking duck.
“They were going to make turkey, but apparently some good ingredients came in, so they made Peking duck instead.”
It was so large I would have believed it if they said it was turkey. Moreover, the subsequent dishes that came out were nothing short of splendid.
