The Ultimate Glitch ~One Man Conquers a Dungeon That Humanity Couldn’t Conquer for Hundreds of Years, in Only Two Hours~ - Chapter 6
The Lost Forest
Chapter 6
“Achoo!”
Jack stared at his master who was wrapped in a futon, trembling. He had searched for the secret entrance in the pond but hadn’t had any luck.
“Damn, I’m cold,” Reid said, “I should go to sleep, otherwise I’ll be too tired to work tomorrow.” He turned down his light and drifted to sleep.
Maybe the entrance isn’t near the waterfall, he thought, maybe it’s somewhere else entirely. Or perhaps, my whole theory is wrong and the loophole I found in the dungeon I conquered was a unique case.
His thoughts went round and round in his head until sleep caught up to him.
The next day, Reid was relieved to find that he had not caught a cold and could go to work.
Reid’s field was 4 hectares, which he had to fertilize on his own. It had to be done before summer started, otherwise, the harvest would be affected. He couldn’t deny it – it was a lot of hard work. Nevertheless, he didn’t want to stop investigating the dungeons. He hadn’t felt this intrigued in a long time, and he didn’t want to give up on that excitement. So everyday, he’d wrap up quickly and go back home.
Which didn’t go unnoticed.
As he was walking back home, he was stopped by Fyne. “What’s going on lately,” she asked, “you’re always back home so early.”
“Nothing in particular,” he lied, “I just want to be home before the sun is down.”
Fyne hummed, suspicious. “Alright, if you say so. But you should stop by my house today. My parents always tell me that you are more than welcome.”
“That’s really nice of them, but I can’t make it today. I have to go home.” “Please? Just for a little bit?”
Reid sighed and let himself get convinced by the little girl.
When he arrived in Fyne’s village, he was welcomed by her grandfather, Yanis. “Oh, Reid! You’re already done with work?”
“I am. How’s your hip, Yanis?”
“Not great. Getting old is a tricky thing.”
In the small village of Galed – which counted about 50 villagers – everyone knew each other in a family-like manner. It couldn’t be described as a wealthy or a poor village. Kids often played around the modest houses, watched by the elderly comfortably seated in their wooden chairs, a smile drawn on their faces.
Reid loved the heartwarming sight of Galed. “Fyne! Are you with Reid today?”
“Reid! Please bring back some vegetables with you.” “Reid! Let’s play again!”
In the hubbub, Reid couldn’t help but smile.
Around him, all the villagers are Ordos, with a dark skin tone and light-colored hair.
Because of their appearance, they were despised by the people of Morgalea.
The Ordos are the descendants of the Ordorian Empire, who once ruled the world with great tyranny. Although, it’s been thousands of years and no one knew if this was actually true.
Reid didn’t understand this discrimination, but he knew there was nothing to be
done.
Reid went inside Fyne’s home and was welcomed by her parents, Axel and Mary,
with big smiles.
“Are you going to eat dinner with us, Reid?” Mary asked. “I can’t, I have things I need to do.”
“That’s a shame. Fyne was really looking forward to eating dinner with you.”
“Mom!,” whined the girl, her cheeks getting red. Mary chuckled and apologized.
Fyne was always touched by the closeness of this family. With his parents gone, moments like these made him feel like he was part of a family again.
After he chatted with Axel and Mary for a bit, he got on his way back home. “Please come back soon, ok?,” said Fyne. Reid nodded and left with Jack. When he got home, he prepared Jack’s meal before leaving again to investigate.
His companion barked as if to send him off.
He made the map appear, touched it then disappeared in a ring of light.

The Lost Forest – a dense forest located in the southeast of the Morgalea Empire. It was said to be a dangerous forest where trees lined up and confused the people who set foot in it. The Guild had established a base there for the adventurers, but not many come. The Forest was mostly quiet.
This didn’t matter to Reid, who could just teleport in and out of the Forest.
He decided to investigate the area around the waterfall again. After 30 minutes, he still hadn’t found anything.
Could it be behind the waterfall?, he wondered as he watched the water flowing down. He rolled his shoulders back, ready to investigate his theory – although, to do so he had to get into the pond again, and he wasn’t really fond of the idea.
He took a deep breath before slowly entering the water, and swam toward the waterfall. He went under the cold water and kept going until he was behind the flowing water of the waterfall.
hole.
And he wasn’t disappointed by what he saw. Before his eyes was a gaping dark
Reid took off his clothes and squeezed them with all his strength to drain the
water out. He put on the crumpled clothes before walking into the cave.
“I’m so cold. This time, I’ll definitely catch a cold.” As he complained and walked further, he found the same artificial concrete pathway as in the previous dungeon. Light was leaking from the walls and ceiling.
“It’s the exact same structure,” he noticed.
After walking for about 2 hours, he finally found the door. He touched the inscription on the door and it opened, exactly the same way it did a few days ago.
But the inside of the room was different.
The room was as narrow as the previous one, but instead of a platform in its center, there was a box leaning against the wall.
The blue light returned, accompanied by the voice. “The reach of the lowest floor has been confirmed.” He looked around him, startled, but he was alone.
“The transfer of authority has been approved for Guardian number 05, Orchid.”
The box moved, steam coming out of it. The lid raised and Reid could see what was inside.
Looking back at him was a blond woman. It was an Ordos, without a doubt. “You are…” as he spoke, the little girl stepped out of the coffin-like box. Reid was
astonished.
She was naked, but her features were so unique that he didn’t dwell on it – her body was made out of iron. Save for her face, her whole body was silver.
Reid was at loss for words.
The pink-haired woman walked up to Reid, before coming to a stop. “Please state your name.”
Reid thought the girl had spoken, but once again, the voice had come out from
the room itself.
“Uhm, my name is Reid Athril.”
“Reid Athril… The registration is complete. My work here is done. I hope you’ll use the legacy of Ordoria wisely.”
The voice disappeared again, along with the light, leaving Reid and the doll- looking girl alone in the darkness.
girl.
Reid took the magic book out to create a source of light, and looked closer at the
“What are you?”
“I will follow and protect you, Master,” the doll replied. “Protect me?”
“Yes. That’s my duty.”
Although her face was the only thing that resembled a human, it was unreadable,
as if she was void of emotion.
After considering her for a moment, Reid said, “well, let’s talk about this more when we’re home.”
He searched for the map of his village and touched it. The circle of light appeared around them and in a second, they were in front of Reid’s house.
“It’s a small house,” he said, “but don’t worry about it. Please enter.”
At the sight of an unknown person in its home, Jack stood up with a confused expression. Reid led the woman to a chair and asked her to sit.
“You stand out too much,” he said, “this isn’t good.”
Reid decided to go through his drawers hoping to find something for her to wear – but of course, there were only man’s clothes. He wondered if she would like them.
“You look cold,” he said, holding a long shirt and a jacket, “what do you think of
this?”
He waited for her answer nervously, but that’s without a word that she grabbed the
piece of clothing and surveyed it.
“If Master orders it,” she replied while putting it on.
He felt very awkward about the whole thing. “No, that’s not what I meant.”
The shirt didn’t fit and the hooded jacket was way too big, making the whole outfit look ridiculous. But still, it was better than being naked.
“By the way, could you stop calling me Master?”
“Master is Master. I don’t know any other name to call you by.”
Reid sighed. Just like that, the duo became a trio.
