The Ultimate Glitch ~One Man Conquers a Dungeon That Humanity Couldn’t Conquer for Hundreds of Years, in Only Two Hours~ - Chapter 43
Ruler of the World
Chapter 43
On the battlefield, the Blue Knight and General Gaius’ forces were still fighting.
Neither of them took a step back, and the sword and axe scattered sparks and slashed each other.
The blue knight staggered with a slash that Gaius shook off from his horse, but he cut off the horse’s head with a single flash of his sword.
Just before the horse collapsed, Gaius jumped down and regained his balance.
The blue knight closed the gap in an instant and swung down his long sword. Gaius also raised his axe and blocked it. They glared at each other for a second.
Our strength is almost equal, Gaius thought. He must be a very skilled general, even though I cannot see his face.
The sword was flicked away with the axe, the distance between them increased, and they glared at each other again.
Just as Gaius was about to step forward, he noticed a horse running towards him. It was a soldier in charge of reporting on the battlefield.
Gaius distanced himself from the Blue Knight. “Gaius! I have urgent news!!”
“What’s wrong? What happened?”Gaius listened to the soldier’s report while preparing his weapon and keeping the Blue Knight in check. He was guessing that the Navy’s strategy was probably a success, but…
“The navy has been destroyed! The surviving fleet is said to be fleeting the scene as we speak!”
“What the hell!?” Gaius was shocked. It was absolutely unacceptable for the navy to be defeated.
Undoubtedly, it was the influence of the dungeon conqueror, he thought. Strangely, what Defense Minister Clark said had become a reality.
Gaius looked around him. Although he had more soldiers, they were falling like flies.
It’s bad. If we retreat, Alessandro will be completely defeated. We must avoid such a stain on our history!
As Gaius thought so, a roar rose in front of him.
Looking around, the waiting Morgalea army rushed forward – a total of 15,000 soldiers rushed forward as the ground rumbled.
“Gaius, what should we do?”
There was no option to withdraw. He raised his black great axe and raised his voice to encourage his allies.
“Alessandro’s soldiers!! We will never be defeated! Let’s mow down the undead in front of us and bring victory back to our homeland!!”
Everyone cheered.
The morale of Alessandro’s army has risen. The heavy knights, who still outnumbered their opponents, attacked Morgalea’s army.
Gaius swung his axe above his head and attacked the blue knight. The blue knight stumbled but managed to endure the blow.
“Warrior in blue armor! This match with you was fun, but it’s time to put an end to it.
Victory as an army comes first!!”
The Blue Knight, who stood still on his right leg and refused to fall, pointed the point of his sword at Gaius.
Unlike the fight between the two, the entire battlefield was changing.
The half-beast, half-human blue knight who trampled the opponent with his halberd was surrounded by multiple heavy knights and destroyed. Even a knight who never loses in one-on-one battles cannot keep fighting against the violence of numbers.
The enemy’s units became more at a disadvantage as their numbers decreased, and Alessandro’s army gained the upper hand.
“Out of my way!” A single flash of the spear Orus shot from his horse pierced through the gaps in the armored knight’s helmet, instantly killing them. Orus, who is said to be the principality’s best spear user, never fell before anyone, even the strongest knights of the empire.
He lead the knights and pushed in the enemy, but they were too many and they ended up being gradually surrounded.
When Orus showed a slight opening, he noticed a soldier attacking him from behind. He thought he couldn’t make it in time.
The moment he thought he was going to get slashed, an enemy soldier flew in the air. The soldier, spewing blood, hit the ground and stopped moving.
“Isn’t that spear of yours slowing you down, Orus?”
Orus looked at where the voice had come from. “Gustav!”
Placing the black sword on his shoulder, Gustav smiled. Behind him, the members of Morgalea’s strongest adventurer party “Black Sword” were lined up.
“Don’t overdo it,” Karl said. “You and Gustav are both pretty old.”
“You’re the same age as us, idiot,” replied Gustav. “Now, let’s go wild, guys!”
The sword Karl used with his strong arm knocked out the heavy knight’s sword and slashed through the armor. The “black sword” heavy tank, which surpassed even Gustav in power, scattered the imperial soldiers.
The skillful Daya deftly slipped through the opponent’s armor with her sword and cut through the opponent’s body.
Although Marco and Daitos still had little experience in combat, they never lost to the imperial soldiers.
“We deal with monsters in dungeons. Compared to that, this is a piece of cake!,” said Karl.
“Hey, don’t get carried away!!” Two enraged soldiers rushed forward. However, Gustav stood in the way.
In a flash, the black sword that was swung without hesitation separated the soldier’s torso and neck forever. The bisected, headless body fell at Gustav’s feet.
“Thanks for your help.” Orus called out to Gustav and members of the Black Sword from on horseback.
“This is what it’s like for us!” Karl said. He let out a sigh to the Alessandro soldiers who rushed after him. “As expected, dealing with this number is hard. What are you going to do, Orus?”
Hearing Carl’s words, Orus’ expression clouded. Nearly 20,000 Alessandro soldiers were rendered incapacitated by the 300 soldiers sent by Reid.
That in itself was a tremendous result, but the heavy knights’ desperate charge almost wiped out the archers. No matter how good an archer he was, there is nothing he could do if he was brought into close combat.
Alessandro’s army encircled them with a large force while making sacrifices, bringing them into a trade-off.
Before he knew it, 300 soldiers had been killed.
The remaining Blue Knights were also struggling against Alessandro’s mighty general Gaius. Originally, Orus thought that they should withdraw, but there was no decent force left in the royal capital.
If they don’t stop now, Morgalea’s defeat will be decided. But they absolutely couldn’t pull back
A light of determination lit up in the eyes of General Orus.
