The Ultimate Glitch ~One Man Conquers a Dungeon That Humanity Couldn’t Conquer for Hundreds of Years, in Only Two Hours~ - Chapter 42
Ruler of the World
Chapter 42
Screams and impatience were flooding the battlefield. Alessandro’s army was in chaos.Meanwhile, the new unit that appeared in the front also began to move.
“This army…,” said Gaius, “let’s show them our strength!” Gaius picked up a large black axe and held it high. “We’ll beat them all! Let’s go!”
His soldiers cheered him while they charged. They ran while dust floated around them, the sight of a fearless army.
But Gaius was quickly surprised by its enemy.
The blue knight at the head of the enemy’s troops swung his sword, sending one of his soldiers into the air. The horse and their thick armor were slashed away. This first soldier was quickly followed by five others.
Without a moment’s delay, the enemy’s unit behind the blue knight jumped and attacked Alessandro’s soldiers. They aimed their sword between the armor to get to the throat.
They wore light armor and fought with only swords, but they were terrifyingly fast. they slipped through the axes and spears wielded by Alessandro’s army, slashed
the legs of horses that weren’t covered by armor then and cut the throat of the soldiers.
They couldn’t keep up with their speed. “Do not get carried away!!”
Gaius wielded a large axe that mowed down two enemy soldiers. As they were lying on the ground with their torso cut in half, Gaius felt a chill go down his spine.
They could hardly be called humans. There was no blood or internal organs in the severed torso, only scrap metal. It’s when Gaius realized for the first time that the enemy itself was a treasure of the dungeon. “This creature…what the hell are those dungeons?!”
When he looked up, he saw the knight in bright blue armor approaching him. “You!,” Gaius scremaed. “You must be the commander of this unit!”
Gaius raised his axe and rushed to the knight on horseback. A violent metallic sound resounded.
His eyes widened at the sight below the axe – the blue knight blocked Gaius’ axe with only a sword.
The knight’s feet were sunk into the ground, and his body was slightly bent, but he stopped the axe completely. There had never been a single person on the battlefield who could block Gaius’ full blow.
Surprised, Gaius didn’t move. It was enough for the Blue Knight to move away from his axe and attack him.
Gaius was quick too, he moved away from the sword. Although he was overwhelmed, he wanted to defeat the knight in blue armor.
However, heavily armored knights were defeated one after another by the enemy.
Unable to endure more, a soldier came to find Gaius.
“Don’t be discouraged!,” he told him. “Keep them at bay, while the navy attacking from the northwest takes control of Morgalea’s castle!”
In this operation, the army was supposed to hold back Morgalea’s army, and the navy was to take over the castle, which was understaffed. It was a total of 10,000 soldiers on 100 ships. They were no way they could’ve failed.
****
On the northwest territorial waters of Morgalea, a hundred battleships of the Alessandro Navy are lined up, swayed by the waves.
In contrast, Morgalea had only ten ships, which were crudely modified fishing boats.
It couldn’t defeat Alessandro’s forces.
The Admiral of Alessandro’s navy forces, Aura Baker, stood on the deck of the battleship and peered through a telescope at the enemy fleet.
“Are you going to fight us with something like that?!” He laughed. “I don’t think ten ships without decent weapons would be a match.” Aura even felt pity.
“Aura, why have you neglected such a weak country until now? It seems like it would be easy to make it our territory if we fight…” Lieutenant General Geldoch, who was assisting him, asked.
“Originally, we had a good relationship as allies, but it seems that the relationship has changed with Alessandro’s current King Hyman…”
It was said that the Alessandro Empire would eventually take over Morgalea as it continued to expand its territory.
“Let’s quickly sink those ridiculous ships and make the castle fall. We, the navy, will take the lead!”
At Aura’s signal, the sea fleet arranged their formation. They lined up to surround the ten Morgalea army ships and pointed their gunports at them. Once within range, the fight would end in one hit.
Or Aura thought so.
“It’s spectacular. As expected of Alessandro’s warships.” “Indeed, that’s right.”
Morgalea’s general Patricia and his adjutant Moses were on one of the Morgalea naval forces. Patricia gave a wry smile to Moses’ lighthearted words.
Her long, beautiful blond hair fluttered in the sea breeze, and her gentle gaze looked at the enemy ship.
“I’m sorry Moses,” she said. “Sorry to bring you into this. It’s a losing battle, let alone with a female general.”
Moses shook his head at Patricia’s self-deprecating words. “No, I know best how hard you worked to become the only female general in Morgalea.” Moses smiled at Patricia as he said that. “I am honored to have been with you on the final battlefield. Let’s fight together until the end of our lives.”
“Thank you, Moses.”
The mission given to Patricia was to buy as much time as possible. She had been told that reinforcements might come from above, but I didn’t it actually would.
The difference in fighting power was too big, it was hopeless. She thought they wouldn’t return alive.
Starting with Patricia, Moses and the soldiers made up their minds and came to this battlefield.
What they could do was charge with all ten ships, and attach one to an enemy’s ships. Then, it could be a hand-to-hand combat. If they could take control of even one ship, they could sink four or five ships.
Of course, they knew the odds of success were low – but they had no choice but to do it. Patricia gave orders to all ships. “All ships go full speed! One ship is enough, get to the enemy battleship!!”
“They’re coming, uh…” said Aura, watching through his glasses. “Are we ready?” “Yes! We can fire at any time!”
“They will approach the warship and try to engage in hand-to-hand combat. That’s the only way, so make sure to hit them and sink them all,” Aura ordered. “Understood?”
“Yes!”
When Adjutant Geldoch gave the signal, the bombardment began.
The enemy ship was already within sufficient range. Because it was in an inverted fan-shaped formation to surround the opponent’s ships, it was possible to fire more than 50 ships all at once.
Aura was convinced it would work, but suddenly, it got dark.” Geldoch looked up to see if the clouds had overshadowed the sun.
But it was different. A huge shadow hid the sun. They felt oppressed.
He didn’t know what had happened, but Geldoch, who was familiar with the island floating in the sky, immediately understood what it was.
“Aura,” he said, “it’s a Floating castle! It’s directly above us!”
“Don’t panic!,” Aura replied. “I’ve heard that they have no particular armament. It’s just a threat!” Aura tried to force the Morgalea fleet to bombard them regardless.
But the surface of the sea began to move slightly, but not with natural waves. The sea surface, which flowed regularly in one direction, carried Alessandro’s ships in an unexpected direction.
“Wh-what! What’s going on!?”
The movement of the waves increased in intensity, turning into a huge whirlpool that pulled the ships in. Aura turned his eyes to the sea while he was on the verge of collapsing on the shaking deck. “This is… magic?!”
“The stubborn battleships were swept away helplessly. Aura wasn’t a mage, but he had seen magic that uses water before.
However, he had never seen or heard of such large-scale magic.
Is this the power of the dungeon’s hidden treasures?, he thought.
At that time, he realized that he was dealing with someone he shouldn’t have messed with.
“Aura!” Geldoch shouted as he almost fell from the tilting battleship. When Aura looked around, screams could be heard from everywhere. “We can’t control the ship!”
Amidst the screams, the ships caught in the whirlpool collided and sunk into the sea. The ship Aura was on was also swallowed by the seabed, disappearing in an instant.
More than 40 ships disappeared in five minutes. Patricia stared blankly at the spectacle.
The castle slowly advanced towards Alessandro’s remaining fleet, which left the current sea area to escape – perhaps because they were frightened or because they lost their commanding general.
“General Patricia! Enemy ships are retreating!!”
“Did this really happen…” muttered Patricia. She never thought that such powerful reinforcements would come.
Together with a delighted Moses, she gazed at the strange castle as it calmly advanced.
