The Ultimate Glitch ~One Man Conquers a Dungeon That Humanity Couldn’t Conquer for Hundreds of Years, in Only Two Hours~ - Chapter 41
Ruler of the World
Chapter 41
“We did it General Orus!”
The general nodded as he watched the silver airship above his head, while the knights behind him burst into joy. Orus was really happy to be able to help the Ordos. Above all, he was surprised that the single airship that came to support them had surpassed that of the Empire’s combat airships.
“Did you see that, General! It was incredible firepower and yet we’re still flying!”
Meanwhile, Gaius glared at the sky. “There’s no way it could survive that!” He understood that the silver airship was a dungeon’s hidden treasure, but still, he was surprised.
In fact, the silver airship did not pursue the combat airships, nor did it show any signs of attacking the ground corps.
Originally, the victory or defeat was supposed to be decided in one fell swoop, but the Air Division’s movement had been changed by their opponent’s strength.
“There must be someone very smart to control that airship,” Gaius said. “Well, if that ship won’t attack us, we’ll attack its forces from the ground!” He gave the signal and the heavy knights began marching. The ground shook as 50,000 troops advanced. The rumbling of the earth could be heard even in the royal capital, frightening the people hiding there.
“Mom, I’m scared…”
“It’s okay,” reassured the mother, “the soldiers are fighting.”
People gathered in churches and cathedrals and huddled together to take refuge. Quickly, rumors that there were no chance of winning in the upcoming war were spreading among them.
Even so, they had no choice but to cling to a glimmer of hope and pray. “Orus…the difference in strength is…”
“I know,” Orus replied. “However, if this place is taken, the country will perish. We have to stop it!”
Alessandro’s cavalry rushed in like an avalanche. Orus held his spear strongly. Orus had made up his mind – he’d fight even if he doesn’t get to go home.
At the same time, a shining circle appeared on the ground. “What is this?!,” said Orus. The light stretched high into the sky and towered like a gigantic pillar. More appeared on the left and right of the battlefield. When the dazzling light converged, a unit
of soldiers in armor appeared from inside. There were only about a hundred soldiers, but Orus was at a loss for words when a familiar soldier with a sword on his waist suddenly appeared.
A knight in bright blue armor stood in front of the soldiers.
“Who the hell are those guys?,” asked Gaius. Suddenly, the words of the Defense Minister Clark crossed Gaius’ mind. No way…, he thought.
A horse came running from an officer stationed on the left of the army to report an emergency. “Gaius, a new unit of soldiers that appears to be archers has appeared on the small hill on the left!”
“Archers!?,” Gaius replied. “How many?” “About 100 people, sir.”
A hundred, he thought, is that the same on the right wing?
Gaius was surprised at the suddenness, but if the number of soldiers was a 100 or 200, it wouldn’t matter. As he was thinking that, a soldier came from the right to announce an emergency report.
“A new unit suddenly appeared on the right plain!” “Really? How many?”
“A hundred horses!”
So about a total of 300 soldiers, he thought, that’s it?
Gaius was outraged. In particular, there was no reason for it to be effective against heavy knights with thick armor. Unless they were very unlucky, their armor will deflect all arrows. That’s what Gaius thought-
The archers who had taken up positions on top of the hill set their arrows on their bows, pulled the bowstrings, and set their targets. The arrows fired by 100 archers flew straight and screams erupted from the left wing of Alessandro’s army.
Gaius couldn’t believe his eyes.
“Gaius!,” a soldier shouted while riding on a horse. “What’s wrong? What’s going on?”
“Our knights are falling one after another because of the archers…” “It’s impossible, our knights are wearing heavy armor!”
“They’re aiming at the gaps in our armor! The arrows fly in a straight line and can’t be blocked…”
Gaius is stunned. There should be more than 500 meters from the hill to the left army, he thought. Aiming for a gap in the armor… it’s impossible.
Gaius couldn’t believe it, but the screams from the battlefield grew louder. He feared that if things continued like this, chaos would spread throughout the entire army.
“Send 300 cavalry units to the hill on the left!,” ordered Gaius. “Overwhelm them with numbers and crush them!!”
The order was immediately conveyed, and 300 cavalries charged the archers. The soldiers stationed on the hill didn’t seem to panic and just loaded their bows with arrows.
Alessandro’s knights also wore heavy armor on their horses. A normal arrow would bounce back, but an arrow fired from a hill would pierce the leg of a horse.
The knights lost their balance and fell from their horses, and the horses behind them were also caught in it and fell down one after another.
In the midst of the chaos, an arrow pierced the eye of a knight who managed to stand up and screamed in pain.
“Gaius!”
“What’s going on this time!?”
“The enemy unit from the right wing is about to charge!!,” reported the soldier. “What!? There are only a hundred horsemen!” Gaius was perplexed. These soldiers
were obviously crazy.
If the cavalry were to charge, they would need a certain number, so it felt insane that they’d attack with those numbers without any hesitation. Still, Gaius calmly analyzed the situation. “They probably want to cause confusion here by repeatedly charging and retreating! Enclose it widely and cut it down!!”
A cavalry ran to deliver the order. A messenger came from the right wing to replace
it.
“Gaius, it’s bad!”
“What? I just gave you an order!”
“The charging cavalry has broken through our right-wing army and is closing in on
the central army!!”
Gaius couldn’t believe his ears. “They’re coming here?”
When he looked to the right wing, where clouds of dust were rising.
The enemy’s cavalry was strange. They were clad in silver armor all over their bodies and came towards them with axes and spears. As they approached, the soldiers of Alessandro realized that there were not horses.
They had the legs and the body of a horse, but no neck. Instead, the human upper body wore an armor.
Alessandro’s soldiers were frightened.
wave.
Gaius’ men were helplessly trampled by the overwhelming violence like a surging
Lieutenant General Boas, in charge of the right-wing army, ordered the heavy
knights of Alessandro’s army, whose names were known even in other countries, to stop their advance. His knights, with their strong bodies covered in steel armor, were feared on the battlefield for their breakthrough, destructive, and defensive power.
These strong knights were overpowered and slashed into the air along with their horses.
Witnessing the nightmarish sight, Boas was at a loss for words.
