The Ultimate Glitch ~One Man Conquers a Dungeon That Humanity Couldn’t Conquer for Hundreds of Years, in Only Two Hours~ - Chapter 29
The Ordos
Chapter 29
A few kilometers away from Avalon, the army was advancing on the new continent.
Some were on horses, and others on foot.
“Honestly,” complained Karl from Black Sword, “there’s nothing here. It’s only rocks and plains.”
“Well, this land was under the water just a few days ago,” Gustav replied. Daya, who was walking beside them, picked up soil from the ground. She smelled it before putting some in her mouth.
“What the fuck are you doing?!” Said Karl. “It’s strange…”
“What’s wrong?,” asked Gustav, “are you worried about something?” She threw the sand back on the ground.
“If the land was under the sea, it should taste salty. And if the soil does contain salt, then nothing can grow. But it doesn’t taste salty at all.”
“Right, your family were farmers…” Karl muttered as his eyes focused on something far ahead. “Wait, is that…?”
“It’s a castle,” said Gustav. “It’s incredibly big, much more than Morgalea’s.”
The castle stood alone in the vast plains, surrounded by huge decorated walls. “Wow. I must admit, I was skeptical about this mission at first,” started Karl, “but
now that there’s a castle, I’m excited! Maybe there’s a hidden treasure!”
Gustav sighed. He was relieved to see Karl’s joy, but he felt anxious about that unknown castle.
“I guess we’ll have to find out.”
****
“You Highness Alan, the adventurers and soldiers have reported that there’s a castle on the new continent.”
“Ah,” replied Alan, “even from such a distance, it looks marvelous! It’s hard to believe that it’s been under the sea for decades! This castle needs to be Morgalea’s property.”
Alan and Brest, the Captain of the Knights Guard, were looking at the castle from the distance as they rode their horses behind the team of soldiers and adventurers.
Although, Alan wanted to reach the castle as fast as possible – which they did, after two hours.
They walked along the huge walls until they found the castle’s gates. “Ok, now, how do we get in?”
The group stopped and admired the gates. Alan wondered what to do. “Thank you for coming all this way,” said a voice echoing in their heads.
“Who are you?!,” asked Alan, panicking, “where are you?” Everyone was startled. “Hey, Gustav, what the hell’s going on?,” said Karl.
“I don’t know,” Gustav replied, “but don’t let your guard down!”
Everyone was on high alert when the voice continued, “you’ve come here but I am not ready to welcome you just yet. It would be appreciated if you came by another day.”
“Are you the castle’s king?,” shouted Alan. “No, my master is absent right now.”
“That master of yours is the one who conquered the dungeon! He will be caught as a criminal who has stolen the treasure. Open the gates!”
The voice kept quiet as the adventurers started to riot.
Karl and Gustav stayed calm and looked at the closed gates. “So he’s in there? The Dungeon Conqueror?,” asked Karl.
“It seems so.”
“Why though? This is a continent that just appeared out of nowhere!”
“There’s only one reason – this castle and this continent are treasures from the dungeons.”
Sweat started to roll down their foreheads – this is more than what they bargained for. This mission wasn’t only a dumb adventure mission conducted by nobles.
It was likely that the leader of this group was a member of the government. They had gotten caught in the conflict between Morgalea and the Dungeon Conqueror – this was dangerous.
“Open the gates now! We are messengers from the Kingdom!”
Alan’s words were met with no reaction. He clicked his tongue and raised his hand to signal the guards. Captain Brest nodded and ordered his men. “Destroy the gates!
Mage Corps, advance!”
Prompted by Brest, the mages readied their shiny wands, shock tips let out fire magic out. As it hit the gate, it emitted a powerful light and exploded, making the gates covered in smoke. The adventurers stayed still, stunned. The wind cleared away the dark cloud, revealing the untouched gates.
“What the-” Alan was shocked.
“It can’t be helped,” said the voice, calmly, “I didn’t want things to get messy but…”
The gates opened slowly with a rumbling sound. The soldiers and adventurers just watched them, gaping.
“Ye- yes! Are you finally willing to surrender? I don’t know who you are, but there’s no way you can go against the Country!”
Alan felt triumphant, until he saw someone come from the castle. He was a lone knight with a blue armor.
“If you want to confront my master,” said the voice, “then the Blue Knight will be your opponent. If you don’t want to get hurt, you should go home.”
Alan scoffed. “I’m insulted. What can this man do on his own? Brest, show him our strength!”
“Yes!”
Brest led the squad towards the lone knight. Three men rushed in at the same time, it was impossible to escape, but-
The three horses stopped and the soldier’s weapons were thrown into the air. The men lost their balance and fell to the ground. Brest held his breath for a moment, not understanding how one man could’ve stopped his guards.
He squinted his eyes and saw the Blue Knight’s sword. A chill ran down his spine – his experience told him not to fight this man.
“What are you doing Brest? Go and fight him!,” urged Alan. “Uhm, right!”
Giving orders to the rest of his men, he rushed to the lone knight.
