Within a few minutes, the mansion transformed into the scene of a slaughter.
Ear-piercing screams erupted from all around, causing some of the people who had rushed out in panic to freeze in place, unable to run.
Everyone was clad in black uniforms. They were the figures from the rumors, notorious for causing one’s hair to stand on end with just a glance. Even in the fleeting moments before their impending deaths, their instincts told them what was about to happen.
When the gleaming light reflected off their blades caught their eyes, they knew they were doomed..
However, they had chosen to meet their deaths without suffering.
Based on the information provided by intelligence sources, Karma had dragged out some of the servants who had been involved in the abuse and violence against the Grand Duchess and left them alive.
And this number was not small at all…
Among those who were dragged out of the mansion, there were even former maids who were once serving Asella closely.
As the soldiers roughly forced them down onto the mansion’s front lawn, anguished groans mixed with pain filled the air.
Karma circled around them, creating an oppressive and merciless atmosphere.
The faces of those kneeling on the ground were all pale. There were hardly any who could make a sound judgment.
Unable to maintain a clear state of mind after witnessing their fellow colleagues being mercilessly killed, the mansion resonated with the foul stench of blood.
At that moment, the door opened, and two people in particularly luxurious nightwear were dragged out.
It was Phillip and Anthony.
“Let go of me!”
“How dare you! Do you know who I am?”
Phillip struggled frantically, shaking the arm that held him. His screaming voice resembled the sound of a pig being led to the slaughterhouse. Anthony also struggled to break free from the soldiers, but it was in vain.
The two men, who were dragged outside, were pushed to the ground. It was an overpowering force that they couldn’t resist. Their bodies twisted, and their expensive clothes were dirtied by the soil.
“Ow!”
A scream escaped Anthony’s mouth from the intense pain. Phillip’s face also contorted for a moment, not only from the pain he felt in his body but also from the blow to his pride. Realizing that they were showing a pitiful sight in front of the servants they used to boss around, Phillip briskly brushed off his body and stood up.
“You, you all! If His Majesty the Emperor finds out about this, he won’t let it go quietly. And when that happens, you will lose your lives… Hrk!”
His forceful outcry was cut short. Phillip’s eyes widened in shock and astonishment.
It was because Ryzen had brought his sword to Phillip’s throat. Just the touch of the sharp blade against his skin caused droplets of blood to form.
“It would be better for you to keep your mouth shut.”
“You, you…! Why, why are you here…!”
Ryzen, however, did not respond. He silently gestured with his head, and the soldiers came, grabbed Phillip’s arms, and forced him to kneel.
“What is this…!”
Phillip’s protest against Ryzen came to an abrupt halt. His eyes widened, unlike a little while ago.
Someone was walking out of the mansion. Just that alone captured everyone’s attention, as his overwhelming presence was enough to captivate anyone.
“Yo-.. Your Grace!”
Amidst the faintly shining dawn light, his jet-black hair swayed. The silhouette created by the black armor custom-tailored to fit his body perfectly, was truly magnificent.
It clearly showed the years spent on the battlefield, and the perfectly sculpted muscles revealed their presence with every move he made.
It was the Grand Duke, Calix Benvito.
When the crimson eyes, darker than usual, met his, Phillip’s body trembled uncontrollably. Anyone could sense that his body was shaking like a man struck by lightning. The sound of the footsteps approaching him seemed like a call from a grim reaper, and a chill ran down his spine.
The solid sound stopped, and Calix’s feet paused just inches away from Phillip’s hand.
Philip had to tilt his head as far as it would go to see his face. The soldiers pressed down on his shoulders, making it even more difficult.
