Margo snapped out of her reverie at the sound of a gentle voice. She quickly responded.
“Yes, Your Highness.”
“Did someone visit last night?”
Margo paused. Following the mistress’s gaze, she noticed a chair placed by the bedside. It wasn’t difficult to speculate who might have sat in that chair during the previous night.
‘Keep quiet.’
Recalling Calix’s command, Margo skillfully hid her expression and quickly responded.
“No, there was no one.”
“Is that so?”
“I think I forgot to put the chair back in its place while I was checking on Your Highness yesterday. I apologize.”
“No, I was being a bit sensitive.”
Feeling sorry for questioning someone over a trivial matter, Asella smiled lightly. Taking advantage of the opportunity, Margo swiftly changed the subject.
“Oh, and Lady Mariel will soon come to see Your Highness.”
Just then, a voice from outside the door announced Mariel’s arrival. It was an unexpected visit, but Asella warmly welcomed her younger sister.
“I didn’t expect you to wake up so early.”
“No! I don’t sleep in anymore!” Mariel shook her head, denying her past behavior.
However, when Asella narrowed her eyes and gave her a skeptical look, she quickly admitted the truth.
“But what’s the occasion for such an early morning?”
“Because today is a very special day!”
“A special day?”
“Yes!”
Nodding her head vigorously, Mariel exclaimed energetically.
“We’re going out to have fun together, sister!”
Asella’s face froze. Overwhelmed by confusion, she stuttered as she asked.
“What are you talking about?”
“A date with you, Sister!”
Mariel tightly held both of Asella’s hands and met her widened eyes, smiling broadly.

And so, a while later, two people who resembled each other were riding a grand and splendid carriage engraved with the Benvito family crest. Mariel happily watched Asella, who couldn’t take her eyes off the window.
While others might not have noticed, Mariel could easily tell that Asella was excited.
‘Sister…’
Today’s outing was Mariel’s idea. Seeing that Asella hardly moved from her room after the horse-riding accident, she personally went to find Calix.
It was a bold move for such a young child.
‘You want permission to go out?’
‘Yes. It’s a warm spring day.’
‘You don’t need my permission for a brief outing. Go ahead.’
‘I just want to go out with my sister. Oh, and we’ll need a coachman, of course.’
