Reincarnated into a World Filled with Dungeons, But My Blessing Turned Out to Be the Most Challenging Dungeon - Chapter 56
“Phew, that was exhausting.”
I wiped the sweat off my forehead and came to a stop.
“Everyone was really intense, huh?”
Eve’s words brought back the scene from earlier.
When Isabella severed the Dragon Puppy’s head, everyone’s jaws dropped in shock. Then, as if moving in unison, they all turned to me, bombarding me with questions like, “Where did you get this repaired?” and “How much would it cost to get this done?”
Overwhelmed by their enthusiasm, I blurted out, “Oh, I just asked a random blacksmith at a rental workshop,” and quickly made my escape.
That said, I had already told Isabella that I would ask an acquaintance.
Still, it was more believable to say that I had a blacksmith do it rather than a rookie student having forged such a weapon himself. I could always explain things to Isabella properly later.
“Man, they were really into it…”
If there’s an opportunity to profit from this, it might be worth considering—so long as I take precautions to keep my identity under wraps. Just as I was pondering that…
“Hm?”
A magic-powered carriage pulled up in front of me. Unlike the worn-out commercial wagons, this one was polished to a gleaming shine—a high-class vehicle.
“Hey, Erik.”
Stepping out of the carriage was Roberto.
“It’s been a while, Roberto.”
I greeted him as we drew the attention of the people around us.
“It’s only been five days since the exam, though.”
I had been so busy with various things that time had flown by, making it feel much longer.
“So, Erik, you didn’t go back home?”
“Considering the time and cost of a round trip, I figured it wasn’t worth it. I’ve just been working and handling things here—there’s a lot I’ll need money for soon.”
If I was just going to make a quick turnaround back, it was more efficient to stay here and take care of things.
Roberto considered my answer for a moment before saying—
“In that case, want to take on a job?”
“Huh?”
And just like that, I found myself being ushered into Roberto’s magic-powered carriage.
“So… I’m working here?”
Roberto had taken me to the Academy grounds. Apparently, it was fine for incoming students to enter the premises before the official start of school.
But working here? I had no idea what kind of job he had in mind. My questions were quickly answered.
“The moving company I hired fell through. Now I have to carry all this to my dorm room myself.”
A large magic-powered wagon stood before us, loaded with furniture.
“So, let me guess… My job is…?”
“Please! It’s too much for one person! But Erik, you can handle this much, right?”
He had seen me swing logs around when I saved him before, so he knew I had inhuman strength. I had to admit—this job was probably a good match for me.
“Alright, I’ll help you out. We’re classmates, after all.”
I figured I’d probably be relying on Roberto in the future as well, so I didn’t want to turn this into a transactional relationship.
“Alright, let’s carry them one by one.”
Roberto said something completely unbelievable.
“Wait… You’re planning to make multiple trips?”
“Of course? How else would we do it?”
He gave me a confused look. That’s when I realized—I hadn’t shown him my Room ability yet.
“Is everything here accounted for?”
“Yeah, it’s a lot, so we’ll have to put in some serious effort to finish before evening.”
After confirming, I placed my right hand on the furniture and started storing it in Room one by one.
“I-It disappeared?!”
Roberto’s eyes went wide with shock.
“I can take them out later. Just take me to your room.”
I said, prompting him to lead the way.
“Wow, this is a huge room.”
The dorm room was quite spacious. It already had a luxurious fireplace and lighting fixtures installed.
“Well, nobles get certain privileges. They have to be able to host tea parties and gatherings, so cramped rooms wouldn’t do.”
Roberto explained.
I had almost forgotten—Roberto was a noble.
“Should I be using formal speech with you?”
We had grown close enough to talk casually, especially after everything that happened with Rex and Miranda. But that was when our lives were on the line. This was different.
Maybe Roberto expected me to be mindful of our class differences.
But when I asked, he gave me a troubled look and said—
“Don’t do that. I consider you a friend, Erik. If you suddenly started using formal speech, I’d feel lonely.”
Hearing that… I couldn’t help but feel happy.
