Reincarnated into a World Filled with Dungeons, But My Blessing Turned Out to Be the Most Challenging Dungeon - Chapter 55
“Alright, next up is laundering, I guess?”
“Laundering?”
Eve tilted her head in confusion.
“Eve, bring me all the weapons and armor we got from the bandits.”
“Understood, Master.”
As soon as she said that, the ground shifted, and weapons and armor emerged from the depths.
They stopped perfectly in front of me.
Piled up before me were all the weapons and armor we had collected from the bandits.
“First, let’s sort them into metal and leather.”
I started sorting through them one by one.
Since there were quite a few bandits, their gear was plentiful, making this a fairly involved task.
“Phew, that should do it.”
After a while, I looked at the two piles I had created.
“So, what’s next?”
Eve, who had been watching silently, finally spoke up.
“Eve, can you separate the metals by type?”
“I can’t do it for metals I’ve never seen before, but I can manage with what’s here.”
“Great! I’ll leave it to you, then!”
With that, we began sorting them in more detail, and eventually, we ended up with four distinct piles.
“From left to right, we’ve got Menos Iron, Maia Steel, Romary Iron, and Mithril.”
Eve explained, and I nodded.
Menos Iron and Maia Steel were common metals, as their ores were relatively easy to mine.
Romary Iron and Mithril, however, were considered rare metals. These probably came from weapons and armor used by the higher-ranking members of the bandit gang.
“Alright, now melt these down by type and turn them into ingots.”
“Understood, Master. But if I do it here, it’ll get too hot, and you won’t be comfortable. I’ll take care of it somewhere farther away.”
Eve smoothly moved the metals away. As always, her consideration was impressive.
“Now, onto the non-metal items.”
I didn’t have an immediate use for the gemstones, but selling them quietly should be fine.
The armor, on the other hand, was a bit trickier. There were pieces meant for mages, along with staffs that would be a hassle to deal with.
“As for the leather armor, we can just dismantle it. And as for the staffs, I’ll discreetly put them on the market later.”
If I couldn’t reshape them, I’d just have to sell them without drawing attention.
With that decision made, I turned my focus to my next task.
“Alright, time to return the dismantling knives to Isabella.”
“Hello!”
At this point, I was already used to visiting the Fur, Bone, and Meat Shop.
“Oh, Erik! Good morning!”
Hearing my voice, Isabella appeared, smiling happily.
“I brought back the dismantling knives I borrowed yesterday.”
“Thanks! Come on in.”
She led me to the back of the shop.
“Alright, I’ll lay them out now.”
I carefully placed the knives on the worktable.
“Whoa! They look brand new!”
Isabella’s eyes sparkled as she marveled at them.
“Wow… You must’ve hired an amazing blacksmith. They’re polished so perfectly!”
Hearing this, the shop master appeared.
Apparently, the conversation had piqued the interest of others, and soon, more people gathered around us at the worktable.
“This isn’t just a simple repair job. This is basically a complete remake!”
“Yeah, whoever did this put an insane amount of effort into it.”
“Not even a trace of monster blood left… How the hell do you clean them this well?”
The gathered workers all voiced their astonishment.
“Oh, right, Isabella.”
“Hm? What is it?”
“There was a bit of a… mishap. The knives’ sharpness has improved way more than expected. If you use them like before, you might end up cutting yourself, so please be extra careful.”
“Got it!”
As we were chatting—
“In that case, why don’t we put them to the test?”
One of the workers spoke up, and then a group of them left for a moment.
When they returned, they were carrying a large monster carcass.
“This here is a Rank C Dragon Puppy. Even though it’s young, dragon skin is said to be as tough as Menos Iron. Perfect for testing sharpness.”
The creature was about the size of a rhinoceros, its scales looking incredibly tough.
“Uh, but…”
Isabella hesitated, but the shop master gave her a reassuring nudge.
“You might as well give it a try.”
“Alright then…”
Under everyone’s watchful gaze, Isabella picked up one of the knives.
She had recently been entrusted with dismantling D-rank monsters, but C-rank creatures were on a whole other level in terms of strength and rarity.
Apparently, this Dragon Puppy had been raiding a farm, feeding on livestock, so the Adventurers’ Guild had sent out a request.
A C-rank adventurer party took on the job, but due to the creature’s tough hide, their swords couldn’t cut through it easily, making the fight extremely difficult.
Even after death, a high-rank monster’s hide didn’t just soften up.
That meant that dismantling it required blades just as sharp as those used to defeat it.
“First, you need to sever the vertebrae at the base of the neck. That way, you can use the spine as a guide for the rest of the disassembly. It takes a lot of strength, so be careful.”
“Understood, Master.”
Taking a deep breath, Isabella steeled her resolve.
“H-here goes!”
She swung the knife at the Dragon Puppy’s neck.
And in the next instant—
“Huh?”
The entire workshop froze in shock.
Like a guillotine had fallen, the Dragon Puppy’s head slid cleanly off and thudded onto the floor.
