Reincarnated into a World Filled with Dungeons, But My Blessing Turned Out to Be the Most Challenging Dungeon - Chapter 54
“Wow, what a beautifully clean cut!”
Eve’s voice brought me back to reality.
I stared intently at the piece of wood and set it up again to repeat the process.
I placed the blade on top of the wood and gently pulled. Just like before, the wood split cleanly with no resistance.
It seemed that my 【Blacksmithing】 skill was also enhanced by The World, transforming its original effects into something far beyond normal.
“W-Well, if this makes Isabella’s dismantling work easier, I guess it’s fine?”
The unintended sharpness of the blade was a little unsettling, but since it was already done, there was no point in fretting over it. Isabella would probably be happy with the result, so I decided to leave it as is.
“Alright, time to forge my main weapons.”
『But Master, don’t you already have that log?』
(That was just something I swung around in emergencies…)
Sure, it had weight, and its long reach made it useful if I didn’t mind accidentally hitting my allies. But it didn’t look cool, and more importantly, I had always wanted to wield a proper sword.
That’s why I decided to craft two short swords.
First, I moved to a different section of the workshop.
There were four furnaces available, always kept lit to ensure smithing could be done at any time. I placed the Vellite ingots into the fire and waited for them to soften.
Once they were hot enough, I set them on the anvil and swung the hammer to expel any trapped air.
After a while, when all the air was gone, I continued hammering to shape the blades. Finally, I let them cool and polished them to a shine…
“This actually looks pretty cool…”
At some point, the other blacksmiths in the workshop had stopped their work and were staring at my swords in awe.
I could hardly believe I had forged them myself. The blade gleamed smoothly, and the weight was perfectly balanced in my hands. I had even adjusted the angles of the edges for dual-wielding—one for my right hand and the other for my left.
Above the grip, in the center of each sword, I had also carved a small indentation…
“Alright, let’s test the sharpness.”
Earlier, the dismantling knife had sliced through wood effortlessly. Judging by how the forging process had felt, these swords should be even sharper.
To test them, I set up an iron shield I had taken from a bandit.
Since it was made of metal, I expected at most a few chips on the blade. If it managed to leave a dent, that would be a passing grade.
Thinking ahead to my next steps, I raised my sword and swung.
“Hah!”
――Clatter――
Without any resistance, the shield split clean in two.
The surrounding blacksmiths stared with wide-open mouths. One of them even dropped his hammer onto his foot and started hopping around in pain. That looked like it hurt…
“Uh… haha… haha…”
I awkwardly laughed, trying to brush off the situation.
“Damn… I wanted to make more things…”
After that, the attention I attracted was too much, so I decided to leave before anyone started questioning me.
Now that the sun had set, I was back in my room.
“It couldn’t be helped. After all, you stood out too much…”
Eve was sitting with Kaiser on her lap, gently stroking its head.
Of course, Kaiser was just an illusion created by enchantment magic, but the way it relaxed made it seem completely real.
“Still, 【Blacksmithing】 is pretty crazy. If that’s the case… I wonder what would happen if I tried that.”
“Huh? Master, are you planning something?”
Yes. I had thought of a way to enhance these short swords even further…
“Yeah. Actually, I was thinking of using this.”
I picked up a Dungeon Core.
“Wait… what are you going to do with a Rank II Core?!”
Eve tilted her head in confusion, her silky hair cascading over her shoulders. The illusion was becoming more and more lifelike—I wondered just how much unnecessary effort was going into this projection.
I embedded a Fire Core into the groove of one short sword and a Water Core into the other. Then…
“Right-hand short sword, imbue with fire attribute and fire magic. Left-hand short sword, imbue with water attribute and water magic.”
I placed my hands over them and activated 【Imbue】.
The blades immediately began to glow.
“M-M-Master, what are you doing?!”
Eve started to panic. She even managed to craft such an expressive reaction—her illusionary skills really were excessive.
“【Imbue】 allows magic to be infused into weapons using catalysts.”
“Y-Yes, but… so what?”
As we spoke, the glow from the swords continued to intensify.
“Normally, an enchanter would take a long time infusing magic into conductive metals like mithril. But I wondered if this method would allow for a much faster process.”
Eventually, the radiance began to fade, and I pulled my hands away.
What remained were two newly enhanced short swords.
“I-Isn’t this completely absurd?!”
Eve’s eyes widened in shock.
Meanwhile, I admired the twin blades, one glowing blue and the other red.
“Yeah… I think I’ll call them the Azure-Crimson Twin Edge!”
When I swung the crimson sword, flames ignited along its blade. When I swung the azure sword, a chilling frost misted around it.
“Is… is it even legal to have weapons like these…?”
Eve’s dumbfounded voice echoed through the room.
