Reincarnated into a World Filled with Dungeons, But My Blessing Turned Out to Be the Most Challenging Dungeon - Chapter 51
“Ah, no, Kaiser!”
I heard the sound of something flying, followed by Eve’s voice.
“Kueee!”
A sharp peck on my cheek was accompanied by Kaiser’s cry.
“Master is tired. You need to let him rest.”
“Kueh?”
When I opened my eyes, I found Kaiser peering at me.
“Alright, alright, come here. Let’s sleep together.”
“Kuek-kuek!”
The one poking me was indeed Kaiser. To keep him from using his beak any further, I scooped him up in my arms. His soft feathers radiated warmth, making it all the more comforting.
“Kueee~”
Even with my eyes closed, I reached out and gently stroked under his chin. Kaiser let out a pleased sound and relaxed into me.
Listening to his voice, I drifted back into sleep.
“Fwaaah… Good morning.”
I didn’t know how long I had slept, but waking up with Kaiser snuggled against me left me feeling refreshed.
“Master, it’s well past noon already.”
Eve chided me as she brought over a freshly boiled crystal bird egg.
She must have timed the cooking perfectly with my wake-up.
As always, I peeled the shell and took a bite. After spending days in the dungeon with Thomas and the others, it had been a while since I last had one.
With each bite, I could feel my strength increasing, but…
“Still, it’d be nice to have something different once in a while.”
Given the vast space I had, I figured I could build a kitchen if I wanted to. That way, I’d be able to cook meals whenever I pleased.
As the idea took root in my mind, I began planning out modifications for my room.
“More importantly, Master, about the new cores…”
Eve, ever the stunning beauty in her illusionary form, spoke up. For some reason, she kept changing her hairstyle and outfit—was this meant to be a service?
“Ah, right. The ones I asked you to analyze before I slept. What did you find out?”
From the thieves’ hideout, I had obtained three special cores. I was too exhausted at the time, so I’d asked Eve to analyze them while I slept, planning to hear the results once I woke up.
“Alright, I’ll project the details.”
With that, a display appeared in front of me.
[Alchemy] – A skill that allows for the creation of potions and poisons. Increased proficiency enhances the effectiveness of concoctions.
[Blacksmithing] – A skill that enables the repair and crafting of weapons and armor. Increased proficiency allows for the creation of higher-quality gear.
[Enchantment] – A blessing that allows various items to be infused with elemental or magical properties using catalysts.
“Hmm… So Alchemy and Blacksmithing are skills, while Enchantment is a blessing.”
I understood the basic distinctions between them.
“Would you like to try them out now?”
Eve suggested, but the only materials at hand were weapons and armor stolen by the thieves.
Honestly, using gear that belonged to criminals left a bad taste in my mouth.
“No, let’s hold off for now. I’d rather gather my own materials and craft things from scratch.”
“Then, what’s the plan for today?”
In response to Eve’s question, I shared what I had already been considering.
“First, let’s visit Isabella’s shop. The request might be completed by now.”
As I stepped out of my room, the sun hung between noon and evening.
I made my way toward Isabella’s Fur, Bone, and Meat Shop, but along the way…
(That’s quite a crowd over there.)
『You’re right. I wonder what’s going on?』
A notice board stood at the center of the gathering, and people were reading something posted there.
『Shall we check it out?』
(No, Isabella is expecting me. I’ll find out later.)
There was no need to force my way into the crowd. Sooner or later, the news would reach me anyway.
With that thought, I left the scene behind.
“Hello!”
Upon arriving at the shop, I called out toward the back.
“Ah! Erik, I’ve been waiting for you!”
Isabella emerged, wearing her apron.
“Sorry if I kept you waiting.”
I asked, to which she replied,
“You’re right on time—I just finished up.”
“By the way, while I was walking through the main street earlier, there was a crowd gathered. Do you know what that was about?”
I brought it up as casual small talk.
“Oh, I heard a famous band of thieves was caught. Some adventurers were talking about it excitedly.”
