Reborn as the Paranoid Female’s Rejected Sweetheart [Zerg Tribe] - 53
Chapter 53 : Extra 03
“Do you have plans to remarry?” Yi Er went straight to the point as soon as he entered the kitchen, asking Dean.
Dean was focused on the plate in his hand. The white ceramic plate, rinsed under the water, reflected half of his face.
A slight curve appeared in his bright amber eyes, obscured by his lowered eyelids, concealing the warmth in his eyes, much like his current state of mind, filled with tender affection but unwilling to reveal it.
“Yeah, I have that intention,” he answered Yi Er calmly.
After years of master-servant relationship, Yi Er actually saw Dean as family and couldn’t just ignore him.
He paused for a moment and expressed his concern, “Have you looked into Austin?”
Dean finished arranging the plates, wiped the water stains off his hands, turned to face Yi Er, his eyes flickering, slightly lowering his head, removing the perfect smile mask from his face.
“I have.”
At that time, he and Austin had already had several brief encounters because of Yi Er and Qi Yao’s wedding.
It was probably the first time Austin had gathered the courage to approach Dean. Under Dean’s perfect smile, he confessed all the foolish things he had done in the past.
He said, “At that time, the female zerg took a liking to me and pursued me, but I only had music in my eyes. I thought it was time to get married when I reached the right age, just to fulfill a major event in my life as a zerg, without considering the female zerg’s feelings. Looking back now, I was foolish and ignorant.”
He also told Dean, “If you mind my previous marriage and my behavior in it, you can choose to just be friends with me.”
Austin didn’t directly say “I want you to be my spouse.” Instead, he gave himself a way out. If Dean didn’t have any other intentions, they could start as friends.
Dean thought for a long time.
His first marriage had drained all his affection, losing his male child and eggs, and his disappointment with the male zerg was evident in the words he wanted to say.
He softly said to Dean, “Dean, I’ll wait for you in the next marriage. Even if you only have one eye, I’ll do my best to show you the beauty that can only be seen with two eyes.”
The days of being single were as dull as stagnant water, even if there was wind blowing, it wouldn’t stir up any ripples.
But Austin’s words were like a small pebble thrown into the stagnant pool named Dean, stirring up small ripples.
Dean hesitated.
His dim and lifeless eye turned slowly, finally locking onto Austin’s eager gaze, and he couldn’t help but speak, “Mr. Austin, thank you for saying that to me.”
Austin’s face froze, his expression cracked.
He thought Dean had rejected him, his voice hoarse, and he almost forgot how to speak, “Wha, what?”
Dean smiled warmly, “If you don’t mind, can I invite you to dinner after work today?”
In accordance with the etiquette expected of a female zerg, Dean extended an invitation to Austin to show the respect he should have for the female zerg.
Only then did Austin relax, his emotions fluctuating greatly. He calmed himself for a long time, covering his heart, before restraining the excitement in his heart and gently smiled, “No matter how late it is, I’ll wait for you.”
Yi Er didn’t ask any further questions. He left the kitchen with a deep gaze, leaving Dean alone.
You could tell from Dean’s expression that he had developed a fondness for Austin, and Dean seemed to be reminiscing about something, his eyes carrying a warmth and smile that were rarely seen.
Coming out of the kitchen, Qi Yao was still watching the course, so Yi Er joined him in studying.
Normally, at this time, Yi Er would go to the training room for a session—swimming, running, and doing push-ups, then show off his bone wings when tired, and continue with sit-ups.
But now he was pregnant, and while those physical exercises might not have a big impact on the eggs, Qi Yao might worry about this or that.
To avoid worrying Qi Yao, Yi Er canceled his plans to go to the training room.
Sitting beside Qi Yao, the soft-spoken female doctor in the course was just discussing the importance of proper exercise for pregnant females, which would help with future egg production.
Qi Yao was listening half-heartedly and asked Yi Er, “Were you chatting with Dean just now? What did you talk about? Austin?”
Yi Er replied, “We didn’t delve deep into conversation, I just asked him if he knew about Austin and if he had plans to remarry.”
“How did Dean respond?”
“Dean is looking forward to it.”
Qi Yao paused the course, leaned against Yi Er, and idly slid his hand over Yi Er’s abdomen, saying, “Can’t bear to part with Dean?”
Yi Er allowed his movements, “No.”
Qi Yao asked, “Then why do you seem unhappy?”
After a long time, Yi Er said, “Ever since Dean became famous because of the divorce lawsuit, he has been working with me. I don’t know what Dean is thinking, but in my eyes, besides Your Highness and His Majesty, Dean is the zerg closest to me.”
Qi Yao understood. The words he said last night about not interfering with Dean were just self-comforting. Yi Er couldn’t just ignore Dean; subconsciously, he still hoped Dean would be more cautious in dealing with Austin.
Withdrew his hand from Yi Er’s abdomen, Qi Yao joked, “Can’t you see through an zerg’s sincerity? Couldn’t you tell when you met Austin yesterday?”
Indeed, Yi Er hadn’t seen any insincerity in Austin’s gaze toward Dean. But that didn’t prove that if Austin and Dean got married, Austin wouldn’t use emotional abuse on Dean after marriage.
The true nature of an zerg is slowly revealed over time.
Qi Yao said, “Perhaps Austin will be Dean’s silver lining after all?”
Yi Er hoped so.
Brief silence.
Yi Er seemed to notice that the course had paused and asked, “Why did you stop listening to the course?”
The course screen froze on the kind face of the female doctor. Qi Yao pressed the play button again and grumbled, “Wasn’t I talking to you?”
The gentle voice of the female doctor resumed, filling the space with tranquility. Suddenly, Qi Yao said again, “Why aren’t you doing physical training today?”
Wasn’t it usual for him to train until sweating profusely before resting?
Yi Er lowered his eyes, his hand unconsciously resting on his abdomen.
Qi Yao understood again and reassured him, “Don’t worry, I’ve made a plan. Moderate exercise is not only good for the eggs but also for you. It’s beneficial for production and maintaining your figure.”
Figure…?
Yi Er was proud of his figure, his muscles don’t bulge, the lines are extremely beautiful, and sometimes they can make the male lord look a little longer and touch a little more.
Especially during their endurance battles, the male lord likes to stare at his upper body the most.
Qi Yao was still advising him in his ear, “How about I go with you?”
“Huh? What?” Yi Er snapped out of his reverie.
“Aren’t you afraid I’ll criticize you? I’ll go with you to watch your training, so you don’t go overboard. Otherwise, you’ll end up doing thousands of sit-ups and make the little one dizzy…” Qi Yao said, pulling Yi Er upstairs to the training room. “How about swimming? We have a pool at home, but I’ve never seen you swim.”
Yi Er smiled, “Okay, let’s have a double zerg swim.”
Qi Yao shook his head, “That might not work. Have you forgotten? Your lord fell into the sea once, triggering a series of chain reactions because he couldn’t swim?”
Yi Er persisted, “No worries, I’ll teach you how to swim. That way, if you fall into the sea again, you can save yourself.”
Qi Yao retorted, “What devious plan are you hatching? The sea is too cold, and I don’t want to fall in again.”
“Don’t you want to meet me again?”
“Are you a beautiful zerg-fish? Will I meet you if I fall into the sea again?”
“I mean, if you fall next time, I’ll be there to make sure you don’t get cold.”
“…Then I’ll fall a few times later to satisfy your selfishness.”
“…………”
The two zergs bantered back and forth, unknowingly arriving at the training room.
The swimming pool was right next to the training room, so everything was convenient because they were at home.
Yi Er helped Qi Yao take off his clothes, and the two zergs entered the pool together.
The deep blue pool water, filled with disinfectant, started from the toes, then ankles, knees, waist, and finally chest.
Yi Er grabbed Qi Yao’s hand and carefully guided him to walk on the pool bottom.
Beside the wide pool, there was a huge floor-to-ceiling glass window. Leaning on the pool side, one could see the newly completed fountain in the courtyard near the door, with clusters of transparent water jets shooting up, lively and cheerful.
With Yi Er’s help, Qi Yao walked to the window, his arm resting on the edge of the pool, his chin just right for resting, finding this comfortable resting place, he didn’t intend to leave.
“Teacher Yi Er, you go swim, I’ll just watch you.”
“You’re not learning to swim anymore?”
“It’s too cold. I’ll get used to the water temperature first, then I’ll learn.”
Yi Er didn’t pay attention to Qi Yao anymore, letting him lie on the pool edge, while he swam in the pool.
After swimming a few laps with great effort, and even deliberately changing a few moves to look good, Qi Yao, who kept saying he wanted to watch him swim, was staring fixedly out the window, without even looking at him.
Yi Er’s mood was instantly affected. He quietly swam over, intending to secretly turn Qi Yao’s face over to make him focus on watching him.
With no splashing behind him, Qi Yao turned his head and met Yi Er’s gaze.
He smiled and called out to Yi Er, “I was just about to call you. Come here and take a look.”
Yi Er kicked his legs and swam to Qi Yao’s side, deliberately making exaggerated movements to stand up in the water, splashing Qi Yao’s upper body with water.
Qi Yao chuckled, “Stop messing around, look at the front door.”
Yi ErThey stopped messing around, and Yi Er looked in the direction Qi Yao was indicating under his chin, his eyes widening involuntarily.
Outside the courtyard gate, two zergs with golden hair stood facing each other, one with light hair and the other with dark hair.
It was Dean and Austin.
Austin took something out of his pocket and handed it to Dean.
Dean picked it up and held it up to the sunlight. Suddenly, unexpectedly, something happened.
Austin ran away!
Dean was stunned.
Qi Yao and Yi Er by the pool were also stunned.
But Dean reacted very quickly and immediately chased after Austin.
Watching one chasing and the other fleeing, Qi Yao curiously asked, “Was Dean holding a ring just now?”
He took off the ring from his own hand and held it up to the sunlight, mimicking Dean’s exact movement.
The ring sparkled in the sunlight’s reflection, and Qi Yao said, “Why did Austin come to give the ring now? There’s no sense of ceremony at all.”
Yi Er guessed, “Probably couldn’t wait and was afraid of rejection.”
Dean wanted to give Austin a perfect family, so he went for a full-body check-up, and Austin, not wanting to disappoint him, brought the ring the next day to make a promise.
Because he was afraid of rejection, he hurriedly ran away after giving it, so he wouldn’t hear the answer.
Outside the gate, Dean had caught up with Austin.
Austin lowered his head, as if listening to Dean’s stern admonition. After a while, Dean finished his lecture, put the ring back in his pocket, and a smile appeared on Austin’s face.
He slowly reached up and cupped the back of Dean’s head, planting a light kiss on Dean’s forehead.
Dean didn’t refuse him.
Austin became bolder, this time holding Dean’s face in both hands, tilting his head slightly, patiently kissing Dean’s lips.
Qi Yao watched the two zergs kissing under the sunlight and said, “Perhaps… I mean, perhaps, Austin was using emotional coldness in his previous marriage because that female zerg wasn’t the one he loved.”
Yi Er didn’t say anything. Expressionlessly, he helped Qi Yao put the ring back on, then turned Qi Yao’s face and forcibly redirected his gaze from outside to himself.
Then, imitating Austin, he planted a feather-like kiss on Qi Yao’s forehead before turning to Qi Yao’s lips and gently biting his lower lip.
“The male lord is right. If you love a zerg, you won’t bear to neglect them,” Yi Er said with deep emotion.
Outside, the two zergs were still kissing. After being corrected in his gaze, Qi Yao didn’t look anymore.
He pulled Yi Er’s hand and walked away from the poolside. “Let’s go, we’ll be discovered if we keep watching. Now it’s Teacher Yi Er’s time.”
“Huh? My time?”
Qi Yao looked at him innocently. “Aren’t you going to teach me how to swim?”
Yi Er raised an eyebrow. “But I’ve already finished swimming.”
“…”
Yi Er added, “Pregnant zergs should exercise in moderation.”
“Since it’s moderate, let’s go.” Qi Yao had no words, wondering what game Yi Er was playing again. He got up to leave the pool.
Yi Er stretched out his arm, blocking Qi Yao’s way. “If you leave, the little one said he’ll cry for you to see.”
“…”
Qi Yao was at a loss. Thinking of why sesame-sized babies would cry, he felt embarrassed and reproachful as he put a cap on Yi Er’s head. “Being unreasonable.”
Yi Er didn’t feel like he was acting stubborn. He confidently quoted what Qi Yao had said, “You said, now it’s Teacher Yi Er’s time.”
Qi Yao surrendered. Since he would be idle at home anyway, it was better to accompany him here. “Alright, it’s your territory, Teacher Yi Er, you call the shots. Where do we start?”
Yi Er’s little trick succeeded, and he couldn’t help but smile. “Learning to swim, of course, starts with breath control and lung capacity.”
“…”
Qi Yao had reason to suspect that Yi Er was being influenced by pregnancy hormones again, otherwise, how could he say such things without feeling embarrassed?
But the next second, their lips met again.
While Yi Er led Qi Yao out of the water, Qi Yao pondered, the next time he went for a check-up at the hospital, he must ask the obstetrician if other pregnant zergs were like this.
Was his pregnant zerg’s situation a bit too frequent?
Author’s note: Qi Yao: Everything is for the sake of caring for the pregnant zerg’s emotions (blush)
Actually, it was the author who couldn’t control his hands, writing and kissing each other.
