- Chapter 110 - Instant Refinement, Minor Hardships
Grand Void Sect.
Wang Chen turned to Lin Bei, his eyes glowing with a dangerous black light.
Lin Bei, oblivious to the shift in Wang Chen’s aura, bowed respectfully and said,
“Senior Brother Wang Chen, whatever you need—be it heavenly treasures or top-grade pills—as long as I can provide…”
Wang Chen waved his hand dismissively. “No need for anything so complicated.”
As he spoke, he pulled out a five-inch flag. “Junior Brother, please enter my Human Emperor Flag!”
“Senior Brother, isn’t this clearly a Refinement Flag?”
Lin Bei stared at Wang Chen in disbelief, retreating several steps in alarm.
“Don’t spout nonsense. This is my Human Emperor Flag!”
“But it’s radiating black mist!”
“Primordial Purple Qi naturally appears black!”
“Senior Brother, don’t insult my intelligence! I can’t believe you’ve succumbed to demonic cultivation. I must report this to the sect…”
“You know too much!”
Wang Chen shook the Human Emperor Flag in his hand, unleashing an overwhelming wave of demonic energy. Alongside it came the agonized wails of over a dozen resentful souls that surged toward Lin Bei.
Boom!
Lin Bei’s soul was instantly refined, drawn into the Human Emperor Flag. His body, meanwhile, was reduced to pure essence and absorbed into the black orb Wang Chen carried.
Within the orb, over a dozen blood-red serpents writhed violently. Wang Chen eyed the scene with satisfaction.
“Just a little more. Soon, I’ll reach the late Core Formation realm!”
He sneered to himself. “I truly am a genius of demonic cultivation!”
“The Myriad Refinement Scripture really is formidable—it’s even assimilated my Blazing Sun Technique!”
“Time to find the next target!”
His sinister eyes glinted, but before he could act, the ground beneath his feet began to shake violently as though an earthquake had struck.
Whoosh!
Realization struck Wang Chen like lightning, draining all color from his face.
Run!
Without hesitation, he turned and fled, his expression twisted with terror. He didn’t dare look back, sprinting madly down the mountain as if fleeing from his worst nightmare.
“Chen’er, where are you trying to go?”
A voice—thick, sluggish, and filled with eerie affection—loomed overhead.
Wang Chen looked up sharply, only to see a figure resembling a humanoid Snorlax descending from the skies with arms outstretched for an embrace.
Panic consumed him as he broke out in cold sweat, his body erupting in goosebumps.
Boom!
Like a mountain collapsing, the figure tackled Wang Chen to the ground.
Wang Chen felt as though his internal organs were on the verge of exploding.
“Why have you been avoiding me these past few days?”
The woman, referred to as Elder Qiu, looked down at Wang Chen with grievance in her eyes.
Disguised as Wang Chen, Xiao Ye was on the verge of tears. Before arriving at the Grand Void Sect, his master had warned him to avoid entanglements with women. Yet no one had told him that Wang Chen had a 300-pound admirer—a Core Formation elder no less, capable of obliterating him in an instant!
Despite her cultivation level allowing her to alter her appearance, Elder Qiu remained in her original form due to the constraints of her unique technique.
“Elder Qiu, I wasn’t avoiding you. I’ve just been busy cultivating,” Xiao Ye explained, his breathing labored.
Elder Qiu didn’t believe him. She cupped his face gently—though it felt to Xiao Ye as though a ferocious beast was trampling on him—and said,
“You’re lying. You haven’t been cultivating these past few days; you’ve been partying with other disciples.
“You have time to party but not to visit me. Have you fallen for someone else?”
Her accusations were baseless—his so-called “parties” were actually schemes to lure disciples into his Human Emperor Flag. For Xiao Ye, that was cultivation!
But of course, he couldn’t say this to Elder Qiu. Forcing a smile, he said with feigned sincerity,
“Elder Qiu, how could I fall for anyone else? I’ve only ever loved you.”
“Really?”
Elder Qiu’s eyes bored into him.
“Of course,” Xiao Ye replied earnestly.
He resolved to pacify Elder Qiu for now. Once he’d absorbed enough essence to advance his cultivation, he’d flee the Grand Void Sect without a second thought and never return!
“In that case, kiss me. We haven’t been intimate in so long.”
Elder Qiu closed her eyes, her expression expectant.
Xiao Ye froze. Her appearance left him utterly at a loss as to where to even begin.
Elder Qiu waited, but when nothing happened, her eyes snapped open, blazing with anger.
“You’ve changed! You once told me I had a great foundation and that if I slimmed down, I’d be a peerless beauty.
“You even said you liked me as I am—that curvy women are the epitome of beauty—and that I should never change. But now, you’ve gone back on your word!”
“I can’t let this go. I’ll make you keep your promise to love me and only me for the rest of your life!”
Her voice trembled with sorrow as she retrieved a pale, centipede-like creature from her storage pouch.
“Open wide, Chen’er. Eat this, and you’ll belong to me forever.”
Elder Qiu’s affectionate tone contrasted starkly with the grotesque creature she held.
Xiao Ye’s instincts screamed at him to refuse. He had dreams of ascending to the pinnacle of demonic cultivation, surrounded by countless beauties. There was no way he’d eat this thing!
“I said, open your mouth!”
Seeing Xiao Ye clench his jaw shut, Elder Qiu’s expression darkened. With a grip like iron pincers, she forced his mouth open. No matter how much power he mustered, he couldn’t resist as she shoved the creature down his throat.
Gag!
Xiao Ye retched violently as the creature slithered into his stomach, leaving him nauseated and dry-heaving.
“What… what did you just feed me?” he demanded, clutching his throat in horror.
“A love parasite,” Elder Qiu replied sweetly. Wrapping her arms around his neck, she whispered seductively,
“Now, kiss me.”
Though his mind screamed in resistance, his body moved toward her of its own accord.
Smooch!
The sound was crisp and clear.
“Chen’er, let’s spend some quality time together,” Elder Qiu cooed, tearing Xiao Ye’s robes apart in an instant, leaving him in nothing but his undergarments.
“Elder Qiu, the Sect Master has urgent matters for you!”
A voice echoed from the void, interrupting them.
Frustrated, Elder Qiu muttered darkly, “That old coot just had to pick this moment to interfere!”
Reluctantly, she kissed Xiao Ye on the cheek and said, “Wait for me, Chen’er. I’ll be back soon to continue where we left off.”
With a twist of her waist, she vanished into the distance, leaving behind a disheveled and tear-streaked Xiao Ye.
It took him a long time to recover, his trembling hands pulling a fresh robe from his storage ring. Wiping his face clean, he muttered resolutely,
“To grow stronger, this is but a minor hardship!”
“But I definitely can’t stay in the Grand Void Sect any longer. If I remain, that Elder Qiu will devour me alive. And once my identity is exposed, I won’t make it out of the sect alive!”
As the Heaven’s Chosen Gathering approached, he made his decision.
“White Emperor City, here I come!”
Transforming into a streak of black light, Xiao Ye vanished into the horizon.
