- Ch. 22 - The Overbearing CEO's Little Wild Cat (21)
After reading through the documents, Qin Mohan’s gaze became somewhat distracted.
Not long ago, while holding someone in his arms in the car, he was in a good mood, thinking.
This little pet was so soft and obedient, and she smelled nice, too.
When he held her, all his irritability disappeared.
In just that short time in the car, he had almost fallen asleep and was secretly planning to take good care of her in the future.
Who would have thought…
The scene in the hospital room flashed through Qin Mohan’s mind, and a trace of ruthlessness flickered in his eyes.
As if disgusted, he threw the documents in his hand into Lin Shen’s arms and turned to walk down the corridor.
“She’s just a cute little pet, nothing more.”
Since she already belonged to someone else, forget it.
Behind him, Lin Shen stood holding the documents, somewhat dumbfounded, then suddenly felt a sense of relief.
As expected of his CEO — decisive and able to let go.
He had been worried before, seeing how much the CEO treasured her, even being careful not to wake Su Qiao while getting out of the car.
Then there was the urgent investigation he ordered into Su Qiao’s background.
Lin Shen had thought the CEO truly cherished that little girl.
It turned out it was just a passing fancy, like wanting to keep a pet.
Relieved, Lin Shen wiped away imaginary sweat and followed him with a light heart.
Ahead, just as Qin Mohan cracked open a door, an irritating voice reached his ears, causing his steps to halt involuntarily.
“President?”
The puzzled Lin Shen, following closely behind, called out softly.
Qin Mohan glanced back at him and signaled for silence.
Since this was the VIP ward, it was relatively quiet with few occupants on this floor.
At the end of the corridor, near the window, a handsome man stood with his back to them, talking on the phone.
“Xiaoyu, was the incident with Su Qiao your doing?”
Qin Yu’s cold gaze fixed on the view outside, his voice tinged with anger.
“Yes, it was me.”
Sensing the irritation in his voice, Guo Xiaoyu on the other end was equally angry.
Her beautiful face was full of resentment.
She didn’t bother to hide it and directly admitted to her actions.
“Do you even realize what you’ve done? Don’t you know this could affect my plans?”
This time, Qin Yu was genuinely upset.
It was a critical moment — he was set to marry Su Qiao next month, yet something like this had happened.
“What plans? She’s not dead, is she? Losing a leg is just perfect, isn’t it? If she becomes a cripple, wouldn’t it be easier for you to control her?”
Guo Xiaoyu couldn’t stand seeing him always speaking gently and tenderly to that woman.
A mere orphan with no family or support — why did he have to treat her so cautiously?
Wasn’t she just a shield? Weren’t her shares the only thing he wanted?
Yet Qin Yu cared for her more than most boyfriends would, going out of his way to be thoughtful and attentive.
Time and time again, he canceled dates with Guo Xiaoyu for that foolish woman.
Sometimes she seriously doubted whether Qin Yu had actually fallen for that idiot.
Hearing the anger in her tone, Qin Yu’s expression softened a bit.
He rubbed his temples in frustration.
“Forget it. Let’s end it here. Just make sure to clean up your tracks.”
“Don’t worry, I won’t cause you trouble.”
Guo Xiaoyu knew when to stop.
Moreover, seeing that Qin Yu wasn’t truly mad at her, she couldn’t help but smile smugly.
That woman had lost a leg, and apart from scolding her a little, her Ah Yu didn’t seem to care. This clearly showed he didn’t actually like that woman.
Now that she was crippled and couldn’t even stand, wasn’t it up to her how to toy with her?
Thinking about it, Guo Xiaoyu felt utterly satisfied.
Ever since she found out about Qin Yu and Su Qiao’s upcoming wedding next month, she had been stewing with frustration.
Now, all that pent-up anger had finally dissipated.
Dealing with Guo Xiaoyu’s impulsiveness gave Qin Yu a bit of a headache.
