- Ch. 12 - The Overbearing CEO's Little Wild Cat (11)
The two elderly people saw that Qin Yu had a good character and outstanding abilities, so they eventually agreed to their daughter’s wish and arranged the marriage.
Little did they know that their beloved daughter would meet such a tragic end.
Su Qiao recalled the warm moments she shared with the two elders, feeling a tightness in her chest, and her eyes brimmed with tears.
She bit her lower lip, forcing down the pain and regret in her heart.
She was determined to avenge the two elders.
In her original world, her parents were murdered by a mysterious person when she was five, and everyone in the village was slaughtered. She never had the chance to avenge them, so now she would start by avenging her parents in this world.
Qin Mohan noticed her pale face and how she was biting her lip tightly. He frowned slightly. “What’s wrong? Does it hurt?”
A warm breath brushed her ear, making Su Qiao shrink back involuntarily. She quickly shook her head.
Not minding the smell of alcohol on her, Qin Mohan held her a little tighter. He lowered his head slightly, attempting to comfort her for the first time. “The car is here. We’ll take you to the hospital right away, just hang on a little longer, okay?”
“Okay.”
Looking at his handsome face, Su Qiao suddenly felt a bit uneasy.
Fortunately, it was nighttime, and she usually didn’t show much emotion. Only the tips of her ears flushed slightly red.
Qin Mohan’s gaze swept gently over her pale face and landed on the delicate, pink-tinted tip of her ear, finding it amusing.
Was she shy?
So, this little one wasn’t as calm as she seemed on the surface.
Worried that he might ask more questions, Su Qiao simply closed her eyes, pretending to rest.
Ironically, her forced calmness only made Qin Mohan smile.
Feeling the gaze lingering on her face, Su Qiao grew frustrated, and her body stiffened.
What was with this guy? Why was he staring at her so much? Did he expect to find something interesting?
Ah Hong jumped out of the car and was stunned when he saw the tall figure holding someone, now standing by the car’s front. It took him a while to process the sight.
Was this really their boss?
The CEO who hated any living thing getting too close to him?
Could it be that the sun was rising in the west today?
Or was he dreaming?
“What are you daydreaming about?”
Lin Shen bumped into his shoulder, nudging him aside, then opened the passenger door and looked at Qin Mohan. “President, maybe you should put her…”
In the passenger seat?
Before he could finish, he saw that his boss had already sat in the back seat with her in his arms.
Not only that, but after sitting down, he didn’t put her down; instead, he kept her on his strong, long legs.
“Brother, am I dreaming?”
Ah Hong, who had just regained some composure, was stunned again.
His gaze stayed fixed on the car, and he absentmindedly patted Lin Shen’s shoulder.
Lin Shen took a deep breath. “Pinch your own leg, and you’ll know if it’s a dream.”
Qin Mohan noticed the two still lingering in front of the car and shot them with a cold look.
Lin Shen quickly got into the driver’s seat.
“To the city hospital.”
As he spoke, Qin Mohan glanced at the person in his arms, then shot a look at Lin Shen. “Step on it.”
“Yes, sir.”
Lin Shen, well aware of his boss’s temper, immediately started the car. But he couldn’t help glancing at the young girl in the back through the rearview mirror.
Their boss was acting strange today, but the girl seemed even stranger.
She could rest peacefully in a stranger’s arms, looking entirely unbothered.
Granted, their boss had a handsome face, but it was also intimidatingly cold.
Over the years, many men and women had been scared away by his icy demeanor.
Why did this young girl seem completely unaffected?
