Phoenix Power: The True Colors of the Empress - Chapter 37. Wolfish Outburst.
Wu’er continued to hold Luo Yue tightly. She knew Luo Yue was the Sect Master’s daughter, so she couldn’t go too far. It was enough that Luo Yue would face the punishment she deserved.
Wu’er realized she had already done enough. If she harmed Luo Yue further, she wouldn’t be able to justify her actions to anyone. Despite being brought to the Lishan Sword Sect by Elder Ming Zhe, she couldn’t embarrass him.
“I already said I wouldn’t let you go. I warned you, but you’re still so unforgiving. Don’t blame me for this!” Wu’er said fiercely, still holding Luo Yue.
Luo Yue was in so much pain that she couldn’t speak, her face contorted in agony. Tears the size of beans fell down her cheeks, making her mournful cries evoke great pity from anyone who heard them.
Yet, evil has its retribution. This was the punishment Luo Yue deserved for her many wrongs and for bullying Wu’er. Even she probably didn’t expect to be so fiercely restrained by Wu’er.
Blood flowed from Luo Yue’s arm, and her beautiful clothes were torn apart by Wu’er. Blood streamed down her back, creating a ghastly sight.
However, this couldn’t be blamed on Wu’er. If Wu’er hadn’t acted to subdue Luo Yue, she herself would have been injured and bullied. Therefore, she couldn’t let Luo Yue go.
“What are you doing? Do you know what you’re doing? This is the Sect Master’s precious daughter. Look at what you’ve done. How are you going to explain this to the Sect Master?”
When Xiao Lian saw Luo Yue being pushed to the ground, screaming in unbearable pain, she quickly pushed Wu’er away while Wu’er wasn’t paying attention. Ignoring the sword wound on her hand, she tightly hugged Luo Yue and pointed at Wu’er’s nose.
Xiao Lian knew the Sect Master would definitely investigate what had happened to Luo Yue. As Luo Yue’s personal maid, she couldn’t escape responsibility.
Furthermore, Wu’er’s identity as Elder Ming Zhe’s disciple and savior might protect her from the Sect Master’s punishment, placing all the blame on Xiao Lian.
Xiao Lian could no longer care about her own wound. She had to think of a way to avoid severe punishment. She knew the Sect Head would reprimand her for not taking care of Luo Yue.
When the time came, it would be difficult for her to escape punishment. However, this was all caused by Wu’er, and she herself was injured.
Wu’er’s status would prevent the Sect Master from easily punishing her. What was Xiao Lian to do?
They initially thought they could use Luo Yue’s jealousy of Wu’er to teach Wu’er a lesson, but they didn’t expect this wild girl to turn the tables. Even Luo Yue suffered serious injuries. Right now, Luo Yue lay in Xiao Lian’s arms, her wounds still bleeding nonstop.
Xiao Lian knew it would be very difficult for her to escape this time. The Sect Head would not let her go.
“You guys purposely caused trouble for me, so you can’t blame me. If you hadn’t, I wouldn’t have done this.”
Wu’er knew she hadn’t done anything wrong, so she spoke to them in a manner that was neither servile nor overbearing.
Wu’er was temporarily out of danger. She knew that no matter how much the Sect Master wanted to shield her and hold her accountable, she was still on the side of reason. If they hadn’t purposely caused trouble for her, they wouldn’t have ended up like this.
“Watch how my father will take care of you. I definitely won’t let you go. Just you wait!”
Luo Yue, still in extreme pain, with blood flowing nonstop from her wounds, hated Wu’er to the bone.
“So what? This matter wasn’t my fault. It was you who were wrong first. Even if your father came, what could he do?” Wu’er spoke loudly to Luo Yue, full of righteousness, without backing down.
Facing the aggressive Luo Yue, Wu’er didn’t retreat at all.
Although Luo Yue was the Sect Master’s daughter, Wu’er’s actions were only in self-defense. She didn’t want to harm Luo Yue, but if she hadn’t acted, she would have been the one injured.
Wu’er’s sharp intuition sensed someone watching from the bamboo forest. This person wasn’t Xiao Heng; it was an unfamiliar aura that felt very familiar.
This person had been silently observing, with a calm breathing and a cold aura similar to Wu’er.
Soon, the news of Luo Yue being bitten by Wu’er spread, attracting many people, including the Sect Master and Xiao Heng.
“What’s wrong? How did this happen?” the Sect Master asked nervously when he saw Luo Yue lying next to Xiao Lian.
“It’s her fault! I told her to come to my place for questioning, but she refused. So, I personally came over. However, I didn’t expect her to injure Xiao Lian and the others. I wanted to teach her a lesson, but she bit me instead.”
When Luo Yue saw her father, she threw herself into his arms, crying even harder and acting coquettishly.
“It’s not like that. They wanted to bully me. I had no other choice, so I did this!” Wu’er immediately defended herself. She was still confident, neither servile nor overbearing.
Wu’er knew she hadn’t done anything wrong. Even facing the Sect Master, she maintained her stance. She didn’t do anything wrong, so she shouldn’t be afraid.
“Sect Master, Wu’er usually knows her place. Just now, she was only cultivating by herself. She definitely wouldn’t cause trouble.”
Before Elder Ming Zhe left, he entrusted Wu’er to Xiao Heng. Now, seeing the scene, Xiao Heng felt he had to speak up for Wu’er. Otherwise, she might be punished by the Sect Master.
“Senior brother, how can you say that? Do you think I want to find fault with her? I’m the one injured. Look at the blood on her hand. She’s clearly the one bullying us!”
When Luo Yue saw Xiao Heng defending Wu’er, she became anxious and jealous. She didn’t want Xiao Heng to defend Wu’er. Xiao Heng could only be hers.
As Luo Yue spoke, she cried even harder.
