Peach Blossom Dual Cultivation - Chapter 92: The Violent Female Police Officer
“Zhou Lang, both Boss Jiang and Boss Li are people of high status. Why would they frame you? If you keep spouting nonsense, your charges will only increase!”
Officer Wu, the bald policeman, scolded fiercely. He hadn’t expected this young man, Zhou Lang, to dare challenge him.
“Officer Wu, by your logic, people of high status don’t commit crimes? Where do corrupt officials and wealthy criminals come from then? Jiang Zhengqiu is framing me, and I believe he’s the one who should be arrested.”
Zhou Lang responded calmly.
“You… you’ve got too much to say for yourself! If you resist arrest, I’ll shoot you dead right here,” Officer Wu’s face turned beet red as he pointed his pistol at Zhou Lang.
“Officer Wu, I’m not a fool. I’ve realized that you’re in cahoots with Jiang Zhengqiu. You have no regard for law and justice. You can arrest me, but don’t regret it later, because one day, you will face the consequences of the law,” Zhou Lang said coldly. His tone was as chilling as ice.
With his current abilities, even a dozen armed officers couldn’t do much to him. But with Li Mengxue by his side, he didn’t plan to make a move.
“Regret? You’re the one who’s going to regret it!”
Officer Wu sneered arrogantly.
“You’re smart enough to recognize Boss Jiang’s influence. Let me tell you the truth: the chief of the Linwu District Police Department is Boss Jiang’s brother, and Boss Jiang and Li Zhigang are sworn brothers. You’ve gotten yourself into deep trouble. You’d best come with me quietly, or I’ll kill you right here.”
His words were brazen, an open display of arrogance. Officer Wu had reached the height of shamelessness.
What Officer Wu didn’t know was that Zhou Lang had turned on his phone’s recording app the moment Jiang Zhengqiu and his men entered. Every word of their conversation was being recorded.
“Zhou Lang… what should we do?”
Li Mengxue was even more frightened after hearing Officer Wu’s threats. She hadn’t realized that Li Zhigang and Jiang Zhengqiu held so much power, nor that the police, who were supposed to represent justice, were in league with these scoundrels.
“Don’t worry. Even if we’re taken to the police station, we’ll be out in no time,” Zhou Lang reassured her, patting her on the back, his demeanor calm as ever.
“You think you’ll get out once you’re in the station? You’re dreaming! As for Miss Li, she wasn’t involved in the assault or robbery. Maybe after giving a statement, she’ll be released,” Jiang Zhengqiu sneered, looking at Li Mengxue.
“Of course, Miss Li, if you beg me, I can help you out.”
It was clear that Jiang Zhengqiu had his eye on Li Mengxue’s beauty and was trying to take advantage of the situation.
“Shameless!”
Li Mengxue finally saw Jiang Zhengqiu’s true colors. Trembling with anger, she glared at him and cursed.
“Since you’re so ungrateful, don’t blame me for being ruthless,” Jiang Zhengqiu’s face darkened as he signaled to Officer Wu.
Officer Wu’s men quickly moved in, handcuffing both Zhou Lang and Li Mengxue.
Zhou Lang didn’t resist. He was prepared to go to the police station and see how they would handle him. However, as he was being led to the police car, his elbow “accidentally” bumped into Officer Wu’s stomach.
“Watch where you’re going! I’ll make you pay when we get to the station,” Officer Wu stumbled, cursing loudly. Like Jiang Zhengqiu, his temper was foul, and his arrogance knew no bounds.
“You’re cursing me now, but soon you’ll be the one begging for mercy,” Zhou Lang thought to himself, silently amused. He didn’t say anything and got into the police car.
As a cultivator, Zhou Lang typically didn’t concern himself with the affairs of ordinary people. But Officer Wu had crossed the line, and Zhou Lang intended to teach him a lesson.
Of course, that was a matter for later.
…
“Sister Xue, don’t worry. I guarantee that within two hours, we’ll be out of the police station, and Li Zhigang and Jiang Zhengqiu will face justice,” Zhou Lang whispered to Li Mengxue in the police car.
“I’ve known for a while that those two weren’t good people. I’ve prepared a backup plan.”
Li Mengxue felt a wave of calm wash over her after hearing Zhou Lang’s words. She didn’t know what kind of backup plan he had, but she trusted him. After all, Zhou Lang had easily dealt with the trouble caused by Li Qi before, and she knew he was no ordinary man.
“Quiet! You’re still chatting at a time like this? Your calmness is truly impressive!”
One of the officers riding with them scowled, glaring at Zhou Lang and Li Mengxue.
Zhou Lang and Li Mengxue stopped talking.
Li Mengxue’s heart was still heavy with anxiety, but Zhou Lang, on the other hand, closed his eyes slightly, as if resting.
“Master, why are you letting them take you? Should I take care of these officers for you?”
A voice rang out in Zhou Lang’s mind. It was Xiaoxi, clearly not in the middle of cultivation but instead paying attention to the situation.
“Not yet, Xiaoxi. Don’t forget that this is a society governed by laws. Many things must be solved through legal channels, not violence. I told you this when you started living in the mundane world. Just follow my instructions for now.”
Zhou Lang communicated with Xiaoxi using his spiritual sense.
Xiaoxi, of course, obeyed without question. Though she had her thoughts, she was ultimately a spirit bound to Zhou Lang. As her master, Zhou’s words were law to her, and she would never entertain the idea of disobeying him. Whatever Zhou Lang instructed, she would do.
Ten minutes later, they arrived at the Linwu District Police Station and were separated into different interrogation rooms.
Concerned that Li Mengxue might be subjected to harsh treatment, Zhou Lang instructed Xiaoxi to follow her and protect her in secret.
Obeying his orders, Xiaoxi placed an invisibility talisman on herself and stayed close to Li Mengxue.
…
While Zhou Lang and Li Mengxue were still in the police car, the head of the Linwu District Police Station, Wu Kai, received a call from Jiang Zhengqiu.
Wu Kai, in his early fifties, had a medium build but carried a noticeable paunch.
“Brother Jiang, don’t worry about this. I know both you and Boss Li are lovers of beauty. We won’t lay a hand on Li Mengxue. We’ll just put her in an interrogation room for a while, for show. As for Zhou Lang, I’ll have Tang Fei, the ‘violent dragon’ of our criminal investigation team, interrogate him. He’ll confess after a good beating, and we can easily sentence him to ten years. No problem at all!”
Wu Kai laughed as he answered the call, not waiting for Jiang Zhengqiu to speak. Having spent thirty years in the system, Wu Kai was as cunning as a fox.
“Brother, I’ll leave it to you then. Once Zhou Lang confesses, I’ll come by the station and scare Li Mengxue a little. She’s terrified of going to jail. When the time comes, she’ll be begging at my feet.”
Jiang Zhengqiu chuckled.
“Since Li Zhigang is in the hospital, I’ll enjoy this woman in his place for now.”
“She’s quite the catch, indeed—mature and full of charm. If I’m not mistaken, she’s still a virgin,” Wu Kai laughed.
“Haha, now I’m even more interested in her,” Jiang Zhengqiu laughed before hanging up.
…
Zhou Lang had been sitting alone in the interrogation room for about ten minutes when the door suddenly slammed open. A man and a woman entered.
Leading the way was a policewoman with a ponytail.
She looked to be around twenty-five, tall with a toned, athletic build, her skin a sun-kissed tan. This was Tang Fei, the so-called “violent dragon” of the Linwu District Police Department, and the officer Wu Kai had mentioned.
