One Pet Gets Married - Chapter 87. Extra - Meng Meng × Ji Yunling
The Space Bar was located in an alley in the northern district of Rongcheng. While this location might be difficult for newcomers to find, Meng Meng was quite familiar with it.
After all, every time the owner Ji Yunling invited her, they always came here. She had probably been here fifteen or twenty times by now. Last time, they even…
Remembering the kiss Ji Yunling had given her in her drunken haze, Meng Meng licked her lips again. After that incident, neither of them had brought it up, so Meng Meng assumed Ji Yunling had forgotten about it due to being blackout drunk. She hadn’t mentioned it either, pretending nothing had happened.
She got out of the car.
Adjusting the hat on her head, Meng Meng jogged to the bar entrance. However, just as she was about to push the door open, she turned around, quickly unzipped her bag, took out a small mirror, and applied some lipstick.
“This looks strange,” Meng Meng pouted after applying it, sighing as she took out a tissue to wipe it off. She crumpled the tissue and tossed it into a nearby trash can.
“Whatever, let’s just go with this,” she muttered, throwing the lipstick and mirror back into her bag before pushing the door open and walking in.
It was currently 9 PM, and the place was already quite crowded. The band had started playing, making the bar feel lively.
After circling around once and realizing Ji Yunling hadn’t arrived yet, Meng Meng chose a sofa in a corner to sit down. She took off her hat, ruffled her hair, and put it back on.
“Hey, you’re here?”
Just as Meng Meng was about to message Ji Yunling to ask where she was, someone suddenly patted her shoulder. Her body stiffened as she turned her head to see Ji Yunling wearing a long black trench coat.
“Have you forgotten what I told you? What should you call me when we’re out? Hmm?” Ji Yunling raised an eyebrow.
“Yunling,” Meng Meng said softly.
“That’s right, that’s more like it. Otherwise, it would be strange,” Ji Yunling smiled charmingly, taking off her black coat to reveal a silver low-cut dress as she sat down across from Meng Meng. She casually ran her hand through her thick black hair.
Meng Meng pressed her lips together, not daring to look at her directly.
Since it was Valentine’s Day, there were quite a few couples in the bar. Looking around, they were everywhere.
Meng Meng scanned the surroundings: “It feels like we’re the only single dogs here, right bo- Yunling…”
“What, feeling uncomfortable calling me by my name?” Ji Yunling asked while flipping through the menu handed to her by the waiter.
Meng Meng waved her hands: “No, not at all!”
“Alright, let’s order some drinks,” Ji Yunling smiled, then focused on the drink menu.
Meng Meng nodded and opened her menu as well. However, as she flipped through it, she couldn’t help but steal glances at Ji Yunling sitting across from her.
Her neck had a graceful curve, her collarbones were beautiful, and her smooth, delicate skin seemed to glow faintly under the silver dress.
“Have you had dinner?” Ji Yunling asked.
“Not yet…” Meng Meng shook her head. Would she admit that after returning from the wedding, she had been rummaging through her closet trying to find the right outfit? Unfortunately, she really couldn’t do anything about her current hairstyle – it looked strange no matter what. In the end, she had given up and just wore what she had on during the day.
“Are you hungry?”
“A little bit.”
“Then I’ll order some food,” Ji Yunling said with a charming smile. She looked up at the waiter standing nearby, “One Snow Ball and a black pepper steak.”
“Why did you order these…” Meng Meng was slightly taken aback. These were the items she always ordered when she came here.
“Don’t you like them anymore?” Ji Yunling raised her eyes, her gaze as gentle as water.
Meng Meng swallowed and shook her head: “It’s not that…”
After ordering a non-alcoholic drink for herself, Meng Meng looked up at the waiter and said, “That’s all.”
“Very well, please wait a moment,” the young waiter said before leaving with the menus.
“You never drink alcohol when you come here. It’s quite amusing,” Ji Yunling laughed.
“It’s enough for me to watch you drink,” Meng Meng replied.
Ji Yunling chuckled and shook her head, then continued watching the band.
“By the way, you were so focused on ordering food for me, what about you? Aren’t you hungry?” Meng Meng asked after a moment.
“I ate a lot this afternoon, I’m not hungry,” Ji Yunling said, then lazily draped an arm over the sofa and turned her head towards the small stage. “Did they change the band today?”
“Seems like it,” Meng Meng looked over as well. “This band seems pretty good. They sing well, and the lead singer is quite handsome and good-looking.”
“Mmm,” Ji Yunling nodded, sprawling on the sofa like a snake, watching the band lazily. She turned back to Meng Meng, “From where I’m sitting, it’s a bit awkward to watch them.”
“Then…” Meng Meng met Ji Yunling’s gaze and felt a flutter of nervousness. She pointed to her side of the sofa, “Do you want to come sit on this side?”
“Sure.” Ji Yunling raised an eyebrow slightly, then uncrossed her legs, stood up, and walked over to sit next to Meng Meng.
As Ji Yunling came over, a wave of fragrance washed over Meng Meng. Her perfume today was very fresh, not floral, but a mix of orange and lemon – very pleasant and not at all stuffy.
“It seems you really like watching handsome guys,” Ji Yunling said, looking towards the stage while twirling a lock of hair around her finger.
“It’s not like that. It’s just that the women in the band aren’t good-looking, and neither are the other band members. Only that one guy is worth looking at,” Meng Meng explained hastily, slightly startled.
“Haha, why are you explaining that you’re not looking at the women in the band because they’re not good-looking enough?” Ji Yunling laughed, releasing her hair.
“I…” Meng Meng’s throat felt blocked.
“So what kind of women do you think are good-looking?” Ji Yunling turned her head to look at her. “Hmm?”
Meng Meng’s voice caught in her throat as her gaze circled Ji Yunling’s figure before meeting her eyes nervously: “I think… someone like you… is very good-looking…”
Ji Yunling did have a great figure, curvy and alluring. Combined with her charming face, she was truly irresistible.
“You think I’m good-looking?” Ji Yunling raised an eyebrow slightly.
“Mhm.” Meng Meng nodded.
“If you think I’m good-looking, why don’t you look at me?” Ji Yunling’s eyes remained fixed on Meng Meng as she spoke. “I guess I’m not attractive enough, right?”
“How could that be?!” Meng Meng immediately turned her head to look at her.
But the moment their eyes met, Meng Meng felt her heartstrings inexplicably plucked, and her whole body tensed up. It must be said that Ji Yunling often looked like a seductive spirit who could utterly devour mere mortals.
“You’re lying,” Ji Yunling smiled.
“No, I… I’m telling the truth. You really are… beautiful,” Meng Meng’s voice grew softer as she spoke.
Ji Yunling just smiled without saying anything.
At this moment, the waiter brought over the drinks and steak, bringing their previous conversation to an end.
The liquid in the glass looked especially beautiful under the lights. Ji Yunling reached out with her slender hand, picked up a glass, and swirled it slightly before extending it towards Meng Meng:
“Cheers.”
“Oh,” Meng Meng quickly picked up her light green drink and clinked glasses with Ji Yunling. “Cheers.”
The glasses made a crisp sound as they touched. After Meng Meng took a sip, Ji Yunling also took a small sip, leaving a faint lipstick mark on the rim of her glass.
Then, Meng Meng picked up her knife and fork, cut off a piece of steak, put it in her mouth, and nodded as she chewed.
“Is it good?” Ji Yunling asked from beside her.
“This is really tasty. Do you want to try some?” Meng Meng asked, turning her head towards Ji Yunling while holding her utensils.
Ji Yunling nodded slightly in response.
“Here.” Meng Meng pushed the plate of steak towards her.
“I’m so tired, I don’t want to move my hands. I just want to move my mouth,” Ji Yunling said softly.
“Then…” Meng Meng cleared her throat lightly and looked up at her. “I’ll cut it for you.”
With that, Meng Meng cut another small piece of steak, speared it with her fork, and held it in front of Ji Yunling. Seeing that Ji Yunling still didn’t seem inclined to move, Meng Meng brought the fork to Ji Yunling’s lips.
Ji Yunling looked at the steak, lowered the hand that was propping up her cheek, leaned forward slightly, and gently opened her mouth to take the small piece of steak.
As she did so, Ji Yunling raised her eyes to look at Meng Meng.
Meng Meng cleared her throat softly.
After Ji Yunling bit the steak off the fork, Meng Meng withdrew it, twirling it between her fingers. “Was it good?”
“It tastes nice,” Ji Yunling nodded with a smile, then looked around. “It really does seem like we’re the only single ones here.”
“Yeah, I feel like if I keep going on like this, I might never be able to get out of singlehood,” Meng Meng sighed, taking off her hat and running a hand through her short hair.
“Why’s that?”
“Because I’m both cowardly and lazy,” Meng Meng shook her head. “But I do envy others.”
Ji Yunling smiled and shook her head in response, then took another sip of her drink.
After a while, Meng Meng looked up and suddenly noticed a couple across from them kissing. She turned her head away: “I wonder what being in a relationship feels like. I really want to experience it.”
“Being in a relationship…” Ji Yunling gazed at the stage, letting out a long breath. “Do you want to experience it right now?”
“Huh?” Meng Meng was stunned, then gave a bitter smile. “Well, I’d have to find that person first, right?”
“So, do you prefer men or women?” Ji Yunling asked a moment later.
Meng Meng looked at her for a while, then coughed lightly: “I think either is fine, as long as there’s a connection.”
“So you haven’t met anyone you’ve felt a connection with yet?” Ji Yunling asked again.
Meng Meng looked at her, her gaze circling Ji Yunling’s chest before meeting her eyes nervously: “I…”
“Be honest now,” Ji Yunling smiled charmingly.
“I guess not,” Meng Meng scratched her head.
“You guess?” Ji Yunling couldn’t help but laugh at this response.
“Mhm.” Meng Meng nodded.
“Ah, I feel a bit dizzy from drinking…” Ji Yunling raised her hand to rub her forehead. “Meng Meng, can you take me home? I’ve been drinking so I can’t drive, and I don’t want to call a designated driver today. The thought of a single person drinking outside and then having to call a driver to go home… it just seems a bit pitiful.”
Meng Meng pondered for a moment after hearing this, then nodded: “Alright.”
So, after settling the bill, Meng Meng accompanied Ji Yunling into Ji Yunling’s car.
At midnight, the streets were largely empty of both pedestrians and vehicles, feeling extremely spacious.
Throughout the journey, Ji Yunling didn’t say much, just occasionally rubbing her temples and letting out soft sighs now and then.
Meng Meng couldn’t help but think she must be going crazy. Otherwise, why would she have such improper thoughts when hearing Ji Yunling’s soft sounds?
Upon reaching Ji Yunling’s residence, Meng Meng stopped the car and turned to Ji Yunling: “We’re here.”
Ji Yunling lowered the hand that was rubbing her forehead, looked out the window, then stretched lazily before unbuckling her seatbelt. “Alright.”
“Then, should I head back now?” Meng Meng asked.
“You still want to go back?” Ji Yunling turned to look at her.
“Yeah,” Meng Meng nodded. “It’s pretty late.”
“So you’re going back this late? What if something happens?” Ji Yunling said with a smile.
“Then I…”
“I have plenty of spare rooms. Surely you’re not worried about not having a place to stay?” Ji Yunling tilted her head, still looking a bit drowsy, her voice laced with laziness.
“But…”
“What, do you think I’m a bad person?” Ji Yunling hugged herself, her voice still soft and sweet. “We’ve known each other for so long, are you still being so distant?”
“No,” Meng Meng shook her head, thought for a moment, and finally nodded. “Then, I’ll trouble you for tonight.”
She felt like she must be crazy to agree like this. After all, their relationship was a bit ambiguous… Last time when Ji Yunling was drunk, she had even kissed her, although it was just because she was drunk.
“No trouble at all. Let’s go,” Ji Yunling smiled again, then opened the car door and got out.
Seeing this, Meng Meng also got out of the car and followed Ji Yunling into the house. This was her first time coming here. When the lights came on, everything was bright and the house was decorated quite stylishly.
“You can wear these,” Ji Yunling opened the shoe cabinet after entering, took out a pair of slippers, and placed them in front of Meng Meng.
“Okay.” Meng Meng bent down to take the slippers.
“Oh…” At this moment, Ji Yunling’s body suddenly swayed, and she tilted towards Meng Meng.
“Boss, be careful…” Meng Meng quickly supported her from behind, opening her mouth to speak.
“Shh…” But at this moment, Ji Yunling turned around, extending her right index finger to gently press against Meng Meng’s lips.
The two were incredibly close, and the light reflected in Ji Yunling’s alluring peach blossom eyes seemed to ripple with an indescribable hint of ambiguity.
“I…” Meng Meng looked at her with wide eyes, involuntarily swallowing.
“If you call me that again, I might just pretend not to know you…” Ji Yunling caressed her lips, finally moving her hand to the corner of Meng Meng’s mouth, leaning close to her ear, her voice soft and seductive.
“I’m sorry…” Meng Meng felt her entire body inexplicably heating up.
“Why is your face so red?” Ji Yunling reached out to touch Meng Meng’s cheek.
“I don’t know…” Meng Meng’s voice had become as thin as a mosquito’s buzz.
“What do you think I’m going to do to you?”
The two were about the same height, and Ji Yunling’s breath scattered across Meng Meng’s neck, causing her whole body to break out in goosebumps.
“Like this?” As she spoke, Ji Yunling gently kissed Meng Meng’s neck.
“Yun… Yunling…” Meng Meng’s body trembled slightly before becoming rigid. She gripped Ji Yunling’s arms, opening her mouth to breathe lightly.
“Hmm?” Ji Yunling gently held Meng Meng’s chin with one hand, her eyes seductive yet also revealing a hint of dominance.
“I…” Meng Meng’s hands fell to her sides, her palms pressed against the wall, fingers gradually tightening.
“You can dodge if you want…” Ji Yunling moved closer to the corner of her lips, speaking softly, her breath tickling Meng Meng’s heart.
However, Meng Meng still didn’t dodge. Her feet seemed rooted to the ground. Right now, some frightening thoughts were swirling in her mind.
At this moment, a soft, warm kiss landed on her lips. In that instant, Meng Meng felt as if her brain had exploded.
Then, Ji Yunling gently used her tongue to part Meng Meng’s teeth, sliding inside to explore everything.
“Yun…” Meng Meng started breathing heavily involuntarily, but the next second, her voice was muffled by Ji Yunling again. The strange sensation made her scalp tingle.
As her body grew hotter, Meng Meng finally hugged Ji Yunling tightly, her hands caressing her back. She began sucking on Ji Yunling’s lips, then parted them, sliding her tongue inside to gently explore her mouth.
After an intense kiss, Meng Meng cupped Ji Yunling’s face, biting her lower lip and breathing heavily. She felt as if she had lost her mind, not knowing what she was doing… What kind of relationship were they in now?
“What is it?” Ji Yunling brought her nose close to Meng Meng’s, slowly wrapping her arms around her shoulders.
“We…” Meng Meng leaned back slightly, swallowing hard and turning her face away, her heart in turmoil. “I want to ask you something…”
“Mm.” Ji Yunling nodded.
“Are you drunk?” Meng Meng asked. “Do you… know what you’re doing?”
“Of course I know. I’m not drunk,” Ji Yunling gently stroked her shoulder. “Including last time, I wasn’t drunk then either…”
Meng Meng turned her head abruptly to look at her upon hearing this.
“You just kissed me back, and last time too… Am I right?” Ji Yunling’s hand moved to her chin.
“You…”
“Did you think I was so free that I’d invite you to the bar every time? How much more do I need to hint, how much more do I need to pursue you before you understand?” Ji Yunling lowered her gaze, her nose brushing against Meng Meng’s.
Meng Meng looked at her, her eyes suddenly wide: “I…”
“Will you be my girlfriend?” Ji Yunling placed one hand on the wall, gazing steadily at her.
Meng Meng released her lower lip and swallowed again.
“If you don’t push me away, I’ll take it as a yes…” Ji Yunling said, then slowly tilted her head to kiss her again.
At this moment, Meng Meng suddenly gripped Ji Yunling’s shoulders and pushed her against the wall.
Ji Yunling brushed her hair back, breathing heavily as she looked at her.
“I won’t push you away,” Meng Meng said. Then she wrapped an arm around Ji Yunling’s waist, pulling her closer, and tilted her head to kiss her lips.
