Madness of the Blue Blood Labyrinth - Chapter 27
I’m back.
Though I set out early in the morning, it’s already the middle of the night.
No surprise—traveling to the 17th floor and back takes time. It’s a bit far for beginner or part-time Seekers who prefer day trips, and veteran Seekers aiming for the lucrative 20th-floor range tend to breeze past it.
The mountainous area really is inconveniently located. Makes sense why I had the place practically to myself.
—
“Excuse me. I’m here to report my return and sell my finds.”
—
I flipped my backpack over, dumping the spoils of my trip into the bowl the receptionist presented for weighing mana stones.
The pile contained mana stones from the *Rockmen* I defeated, plus those from other creatures I encountered along the way—a total of roughly 100 kills.
—
“Let’s see…”
—
The receptionist keyed the weight into a holographic keyboard and began calculating the purchase price.
Apparently, in the past, larger mana stones were priced higher per gram due to their greater energy storage capacity. But about a decade ago, technology was developed to melt and reforge them efficiently, and the industry switched to a simple weigh-and-sell system.
I personally prefer the current setup—faster appraisals save me time.
—
“That totals ¥87,000. Please sign here if that’s acceptable.”
—
She placed a tablet on the counter, displaying an electronic receipt.
Huh, that’s ¥5,000 more than I was expecting. Maybe the rates changed.
…Not that it really matters.
The real prize is this.
—
“Sorry, but could you handle these as well?”
—
From my pocket, where I’d kept them separate from the mana stones, I laid out the treasures on the table.
Small stones, about the size of a fingernail, glimmering in iridescent hues.
The receptionist’s eyes widened slowly as she took in the sight.
—
“…Rock Opals? And five of them!?”
—
Thirty grand apiece. A drop rate of one in a thousand.
And yet, in my hands, it’s this easy.
—
Honestly, I’ve acquired quite an absurd skill.
