I've Been Possessed, But What If I Get Pregnant First? - Side Story 12
Side Story 12
“Hyungnim. Are you feeling more lucid now?”
Taebeom raised his head at the voice calling him. It had been a few months since he heard that Yuwon had completely lost his memory along with his suicide attempt. Repeating excessive drinking and reckless company work every day, Taebeom’s body was rapidly deteriorating despite being an alpha. Opening his eyes, Taebeom frowned at the sharp smell of disinfectant.
“Hyungnim!”
Junseok urgently stopped Taebeom as he tried to pull out the IV and get up. The doctor had advised that he should be hospitalized for a few days due to unstable pheromones and poor physical condition. However, Taebeom pushed Junseok away, changed out of the hospital gown, and left the room. Junseok stopped Taebeom from driving himself and took the wheel.
Taebeom’s face seen through the rearview mirror was terrible. Perhaps it would be better to go find Yuwon again at this rate. However, remembering Taebeom’s words about not wanting to hurt Yuwon again who had lost all his memories, Junseok let out a long sigh.
“Huh…?”
As Junseok waited for the red light with conflicted feelings, a familiar face caught his eye. It was Yuwon. Taebeom’s head also turned to where his gaze landed. It was the first time seeing him since letting Yuwon go. Taebeom’s eyes shook rapidly and he made a face like a lost child.
“Hyungnim!”
Taebeom immediately got out of the car and headed towards where Yuwon had disappeared. He certainly hadn’t seen wrong. Yuwon was right in front of his eyes, but. As soon as he got out of the car, Yuwon vanished like a mirage. Taebeom stood dejectedly in the heavy rain.
Junseok got out of the car belatedly and approached Taebeom with an umbrella. He was worried about Taebeom who had already collapsed once.
“Let’s go back now.”
Junseok’s sigh deepened at the sight of Taebeom looking towards where Yuwon had disappeared with lingering attachment.
Heading back to Uneondong in the car, Junseok bit his lip seeing Taebeom’s reflection in the rearview mirror, gripping his head and breathing heavily.
Having been by Taebeom’s side for a long time as a hyung and subordinate, Junseok found it difficult to just watch Taebeom struggling like this. Though Taebeom had struggled when his mother passed away, in Junseok’s view, Taebeom was becoming even more of a mess than back then.
“Then rest.”
Returning home, Taebeom lay on the bed and closed his eyes. As he closed his eyes quietly, the image of Yuwon from earlier filled his mind. Yuwon smiling brightly, Yuwon holding onto him with a sad face, Yuwon collapsed like a dead person – these images stirred up his mind.
“Haa, haa.”
His head felt like it would burst from too many thoughts. His whole body was drenched in cold sweat. Taebeom got up, took headache medicine without water, and headed to the bathroom. Only after dousing himself with cold water while fully clothed could he stop thinking about Yuwon.
But that was only for a moment. Looking at his pale face in the mirror, Taebeom squeezed his eyes shut. His life without Yuwon was a mess, to the point he couldn’t remember how he had lived without him.
He wanted to run to Yuwon right now. But Yuwon didn’t remember him. Recalling Yuwon dying from guilt, his heart felt like it was being torn apart. It was better for him to suffer than for Yuwon to die. Taebeom gritted his teeth, wanting to go to him right away.
“Yuwon… Yuwon…”
“Hyung, are you okay?”
Opening his eyes while exhaling hot breaths, Taebeom held his breath at the sight of Yuwon in front of him. Then Yuwon… no, the illusion of Yuwon burst into tears and caressed Taebeom’s face. At the gentle touch he remembered, Taebeom wanted to cry along with him.
“Yuwon.”
“Who, *sob*, made you so sick like this… *sniff*.”
Having experienced this situation several times already, Taebeom knew that the Yuwon in front of him was all an illusion. The Yuwon he created would come during his hardest moments. At the touch he missed so cruelly, Taebeom would easily crumble each time.
“Hyung, don’t be sick…”
How can I forget you when you’re still so vivid when I close my eyes like this?
Taebeom vividly remembered everything about Yuwon – his breath, his scent, even his small habits. He reached out and caressed Yuwon’s cheek.
“Don’t go… I was wrong. Don’t go, Yuwon.”
Taebeom admitted his true feelings to Yuwon who had approached him through his weakened heart. He couldn’t do without Yuwon. Life without him was like hell. Taebeom quickly got up, afraid Yuwon would disappear. However.
“Yuwon…”
The cruel Yuwon, as always, as he always did, disappeared without a trace. Taebeom stared at the empty space where Yuwon’s illusion had been. Looking down at the shadow his hand had drawn, Taebeom buried his face in his hands and shed tears.
He wanted to erase all his memories along with him. Taebeom exhaled a tired breath in pain, recalling the memories that remained so vividly in his mind.
“I miss you, Yuwon…”

“Hyungnim.”
Junseok with a worried face handed a handkerchief to Taebeom who was a mess with blood. Taebeom wiped off the blood and stared ahead with an emotionless face.
“Where’s next?”
“The rest can be handled by the guys-“
“Park Junseok.”
Junseok sighed and answered at Taebeom’s cold voice. Only then did Taebeom nod and get in the car. For months now, Taebeom had been overworking himself, personally checking even minor sites. Just yesterday, Taebeom had been on the verge of death. Junseok felt uneasy seeing Taebeom falling apart uncontrollably.
Arriving in Uneondong, Junseok sighed looking at Taebeom who had fallen asleep after taking many sleeping pills. Taebeom’s body, barely sleeping with daily dependence on drugs and alcohol, was not normal. After silently watching him for a long time, Junseok picked up the phone with a determined face. After a short ring, the other person answered.
“Chairman, this is Junseok. I’d like to see you for a moment.”
-Did something happen to Taebeom?
“I’ll explain when I see you.”
Chairman Kwon’s voice came through the receiver after a long silence. Chairman Kwon had learned about everything that had happened through Taebeom’s surgery.
-Come over.
“Yes. I’ll see you shortly.”
After hanging up, Junseok quietly left the silent house and headed back to the company. Arriving at the company following the red sunset, Junseok took the elevator connected to the chairman’s office.
As soon as he arrived at the chairman’s office, the secretary opened the door. Entering the office, Junseok approached Chairman Kwon sitting on the sofa and knelt down. Despite Junseok’s action, Chairman Kwon looked down at him with a calm face as if he had expected it.
“Hoo… What do you have to say that you’re doing this?”
“Chairman. Could you please see hyungnim just once?”
Junseok knew well what his words meant. And that it was something he shouldn’t say to the chairman. But he could no longer just stand by and watch. He was anxious and scared every day that Taebeom might die at this rate.
“…Sigh…”
Chairman Kwon took out a cigarette he hadn’t smoked in a long time. He lit it and took a deep drag. He was well aware of Taebeom’s recent situation. He wasn’t comfortable either seeing his only son recklessly using his body, going to sites himself like a madman as if to vent his anger.
“Hyungnim is struggling a lot.”
“…Time will solve it.”
“He’s in a lot of pain.”
“That too, time will solve.”
Chairman Kwon answered, running his lips down at the bitter taste. It was an accident that happened when the young couple was so busy making a living that they went to work without sleeping. The result of the accident was terrible, but the cause was pitiful. So he didn’t want to take out his anger on a child who would be heartbroken from losing his parents. That’s why he provided tuition support and even some living expenses so the child could grow up well without parents.
“I’m afraid he might die. I’m scared hyungnim might pass away at this rate.”
“……”
“I’m sorry. I know I shouldn’t do this, but I’m really sorry, Chairman…”
But to think that child was the one Taebeom fell in love with for the first time. Chairman Kwon closed his eyes with a long sigh, his face dark. It was harder than ever to decide what choice would be best for everyone. But he didn’t want to lose Taebeom, who was the last one left to him. Chairman Kwon closed his eyes and recalled the sight of Taebeom and Yuwon together that he had accidentally seen on the street.
“…Guide him to where that child is.”

“Hyungnim.”
Taebeom opened his tired eyes at the voice calling him. He had just been taking a nap after taking medicine, feeling like his nose was going numb from the smell of blood he was soaked in every day. Thinking he had arrived home at the voice waking him, he grabbed the door handle.
“Hyungnim, that’s, that’s not it…”
Taebeom’s eyes caught a 24-hour convenience store lit up brightly through the window. What? Squinting one eye at his slowly rotating head, Taebeom turned to look at Junseok.
