I've Been Possessed, But What If I Get Pregnant First? - C77
#77
“It’s all black, huh?”
“Indeed.”
At my words, Kwon Taebeom quickly scanned his room and snorted, as if he found it funny too. Seeing him smile more often these days made me feel good.
Kkong-gong-black. Our Taebeom isn’t even a kkong-gong anymore, so next time I come I should buy a pretty flower pot or something.
“Hurry and eat. You must be hungry.”
Due to some traffic, it was past 6 o’clock by the time we arrived at the company. I felt bad for him working until this hour without eating a proper dinner. I opened the lunchbox lid and held out chopsticks to Kwon Taebeom.
“Ta-da. What do you think?”
“Kimbap?”
“You don’t like it? Should I go buy something else?”
The chef said he doesn’t really have any food he dislikes, but does he not like kimbap much? As I worried, Kwon Taebeom slowly ate the kimbap. After savoring the taste, he smiled soon after.
“It’s delicious.”
“Really?”
At the words that it’s delicious, I felt myself relax and a smile hung on my lips. I was worried it might not taste good, but it seems to suit Kwon Taebeom’s taste. He poked my cheek and ate more kimbap. Seeing him enjoy it made me feel proud. I spooned out the soup I brought along with the lunchbox and offered it to him.
“Eat the soup together, so it doesn’t get stuck in your throat.”
“Did my husband make this too?”
“This is the chef’s work.”
Kwon Taebeom laughed as he sipped the broth.
“But I personally wrapped it, even though the chef helped prepare the ingredients.”
“That’s why the kimbap must taste the best. But how did you even think of making kimbap while still having morning sickness.”
He asked with a worried face. Fortunately, I didn’t feel nauseous or have morning sickness while preparing it.
Come to think of it, it’s really amazing, huh?
“I don’t know. Maybe because I knew I was coming to see Daddy today? Ho-ppang is behaving.”
Our Ho-ppang must really be a genius.
“What did you eat for dinner. Want to eat kimbap together?”
“No, I packed mine separately.”
I said as I took out the lunchbox the chef packed separately for me. He prepared it with minimal scent as much as possible for me who can handle smelling it to some degree now, but feels disgusted as soon as it enters my mouth.
“Is it tofu?”
“Yes. It’s mashed tofu instead of rice, and it’s really delicious.”
As if thinking of making it for me directly next time, Kwon Taebeom closely observed the tofu inari sushi. Sitting next to him eating kimbap, I picked up an inari sushi and spoke.
“Nothing’s going on these days, right? Business-wise… or personal…”
“No, nothing. Why, is something going on?”
“Ah, no. I just had a dream of you getting hurt.”
When I deliberately trailed off and asked, he reassured me that truly nothing was going on. I couldn’t find any commonalities between the original work and the events unfolding now. Did I change the original content completely by appearing too early?
So maybe that’s why Kwon Taebeom isn’t a kkong-gong anymore, and he doesn’t love Yoon Seolah either. I really hope nothing happens to Kwon Taebeom getting hurt like in the original… I still felt uneasy in my heart, but there didn’t seem to be anything more I could do.
At first, I thought I could solve everything if I just found that man among Kwon Taebeom’s subordinates, but finding a traitor whose existence I wasn’t even sure of was never easy from the start.
“There’s nothing. And there won’t be anything like that in the future either.”
“That’s a relief then… But always be careful.”
Danger always followed Kwon Taebeom due to his occupation. I prayed that unlike in the original work, he wouldn’t get hurt.
“You’ll go back to academy, right?”
“Yes, I should.”
“Okay. But don’t overdo it for Ho-ppang’s sake too. There are opportunities next year as well.”
“That’s right. And if it really doesn’t work out, Father said he’ll even lay grass at the school to send me.”
I’m not sure if there are colleges you can enter like that these days, but Father’s words were really reassuring.
“If even a grass field isn’t enough, let me know. I’ll build a few buildings for you.”
Ah right, there was someone even more capable here. Moreover, as the executive director of Korea’s top construction company, he was an expert at constructing buildings.
“Th- thank you.”
At this rate, I felt I should really start studying again, thinking he might really build a 100-story building or something.
“If you’re done eating, I’ll get going now.”
“Where to.”
Kwon Taebeom grabbed my hand as I tried to get up from my seat. Naturally, I ended up sitting on his thigh and his breath touching close tickled my neck.
“You need to breathe.”
When I momentarily held my breath from surprise, Kwon Taebeom laughed playfully. He lifted me up, sat me on the sofa, and brought his jacket that was hanging on the hanger to cover me with it.
“I just need to handle urgent matters, so wait here for a bit. Let’s go home together.”
“Okay, got it. Take your time.”
It was a golden opportunity to be able to see Kwon Taebeom working. A man working while wearing glasses is so sexy. As I greedily watched him, Kwon Taebeom would occasionally raise his head, make eye contact with me, and let out a chuckle.
‘Ah… he’s really handsome.’
I wanted to go to the courthouse right this moment and complete our marriage registration. To say that handsome man, the most capable man in the world, is mine.
After briefly watching him focus on work with frightening speed, I felt sleepy, maybe because I was so full and warm. As soon as I slightly leaned my head on the sofa and closed my eyes, I felt like drowsiness was rushing in. Thinking I should sleep just a little until Taebeom finishes work, I relaxed my body.

Tak-
After finishing reviewing the last remaining document, Taebeom raised his head and checked on Yuwon. He kept blinking his eyes and watching him, but he seemed to have fallen asleep at some point.
Taebeom got up from his seat and straightened Yuwon’s neck that was bent at an uncomfortable angle.
“Taebeom… hmm… meow…”
At the sound of her calling him while smacking his lips, Taebeom smiled and put his arm under Yuwon’s legs. His body that couldn’t eat well due to morning sickness felt light. Taebeom frowned at Yuwon’s body weight that was too light compared to what he expected.
“Should I really boil some dog stew and feed it to her.”
Recalling the health tonic his grandmother had mentioned, Taebeom slowly left the office.
“Director, are you going home?”
The secretary who was newly hired not long ago must have still been here. He was sure he told everyone to go home. Looking at the turned off computer screen, Taebeom spoke to Secretary Kang.
“Yes, Secretary Kang should go home now too. And from next time, you don’t need to wait for me this late.”
“Yes, I understand.”
Taebeom gave a slight nod to Secretary Kang who was holding the elevator door open for him and got on the elevator. And the moment he pressed the button for the parking lot floor, Taebeom noticed Secretary Kang’s gaze landing on Yuwon. It wasn’t simply looking, but a gaze of glaring at someone with hatred.
“Secretary Kang-“
Taebeom opened his mouth at the strange feeling. But the elevator doors closed faster than that. In the elevator that started descending at a rapid speed, Taebeom recalled his memories of Secretary Kang with an uncomfortable face.
In the documents Junseok reported, there was nothing to criticize about Secretary Kang’s background. His family relations and surroundings were clean too. Taebeom tried to dismiss the anxious thoughts as needless worries.
“Eung… cold…”
Maybe because of the air conditioning, Yuwon curled up his body and burrowed into Taebeom’s arms. Taebeom kissed Yuwon’s cheek that had gotten cold and hurriedly headed to the car.

I woke up early today and finished perfect preparations. I couldn’t be late on a day I’m going to academy after a long time.
Although I’m already extremely late, to say that…
Anyway, with a nervous face due to having more days I didn’t go to academy than days I did, I got out of the car.
“Then I’ll get going. See you at home later.”
“Okay. If it’s hard, contact Taesik and come back.”
“Yep yep, you work hard today too Taebeom!”
The weather has gotten much hotter. Wearing a short-sleeved shirt with a denim jacket for the first time, I waved to Kwon Taebeom. Walking with a pleasant smile in the refreshing wind, a convenience store suddenly caught my eye.
“I wonder if I-jun is still working part-time…”
Kwon Taebeom still seemed to be wary of I-jun, but I-jun was the first friend I made after possessing Cha Yuwon’s body. He was also the person who helped when I ran away from Kwon Taebeom.
With a trembling heart, I opened the convenience store door and went inside.
“Welcome.”
“Ah, excuse me, did Baek I-jun quit his morning part-time job?”
A female part-timer I was seeing for the first time was standing in I-jun’s spot. Just in case, I asked her about I-jun, and after thinking for a moment, she opened her mouth with a dubious face.
“If it’s the morning part-time, I’m the new one. Are you talking about the man who was here before?”
“Oh… is that so? Thank you for letting me know. Hmm… ah! Can I get one of these please.”
While pondering if there was anything worth buying near the counter, the cigarettes Kwon Taebeom often smoked caught my eye.
“You’re not a high school student, right? Can you show me your ID?”
“I’m retaking the exam so I’m a student, but I’m not a minor!”
I smiled brightly at the woman narrowing her eyes and took out my ID to show her. Still, I’m already 23 but I seem to look like a student. While looking young is good, I get a little worried thinking about my age gap with Kwon Taebeom.
‘Ho-ppang won’t think it’s weird later, right?’
Putting the paid cigarettes in my pocket, I went to a nearby restroom. Cha Yuwon’s face reflected in the mirror looked nice, maybe because I’ve been happy lately.
“Hmm… as expected, cute and handsome.”
I couldn’t help but admire the firm skin that could be felt even through the mirror.
“Right, it’s understandable to mistake me for a student.”
