I've Been Possessed, But What If I Get Pregnant First? - C26
#26
Maybe because I was stressed from the morning, my stomach wasn’t feeling well today either. At least the sweet fruits went down well, so I ate a few grapes and apples that Kwon Taebeom had washed. It was strange that the other foods had a very fishy smell, but it was amazing that the fruits went down smoothly.
“I’ll drop you off at the academy on the way.”
“It’s okay! I can take the bus.”
When I turned my head at the cold gaze that suddenly touched my face, Kwon Taebeom was looking at me without a word. When I see that expressionless face after he’s being kind, it gets scary….
In the end, I surrendered and decided to go with Kwon Taebeom. I sat in the back seat of the chairman’s flashy car, buckled my seat belt, and sat still.
“Sister-in-law, will you be okay going alone today?”
Perhaps having heard my schedule from Kwon Taebeom, Uncle Junseok asked in a friendly voice.
“What? Ah, yes…. Do you think I’m a child?”
I bit my lips tightly and barely answered the “sister-in-law” that sounded unfamiliar no matter how much I heard it. Kwon Taebeom had a nonchalant face as if that title wasn’t awkward for him at all.
“Haha. Twenty-three years old is still a kid. Our hyung is really a bast-, no a thie-, ah ahem, anyway… yes, well.”
At the words “bastard” and “thief”, Kwon Taebeom’s gaze landed on Uncle Junseok and fell away. For a moment, it felt like the car was filled with a chilling air.
“Your phone.”
“Here it is.”
“Medicine.”
“I packed it.”
Every time Kwon Taebeom asked, I showed him one by one for confirmation. Does he really think I’m a child? Come to think of it, it’s funny that he’s the one who devoured a child.
“Here, use this to pay for the academy fees, and if you want to buy anything else, buy it.”
“Whoa….”
A factory worker… even his card is black. Receiving the matte but shiny card, I inwardly sang a song of joy.
“…Can I use it up to the card limit?”
When I asked playfully with twinkling eyes, Kwon Taebeom laughed and slightly lowered his head.
“Do you know what my limit is?”
Oh damn…. So freaking cool. The fact that the person in front of me was a chaebol finally hit me. I kissed the card in my hand and hurriedly put it in my pocket.
As befitting a car with the title of chairman’s car, the car Kwon Taebeom and I rode in had a very smooth ride. I was a little worried that I might get carsick because my stomach was upset, but it was really nothing to the point of making my worries seem pointless. The car that glided smoothly arrived in front of a building before long.
“Taebeom, then I’ll be back.”
“Are you sure you don’t need me to go with you?”
“You’re not really treating me like a child, are you?”
When I slung my bag over my shoulder and looked up at him intently, he ruffled my hair as if he understood and laughed.
“Then be careful and go. I’ll call you later.”
“Yes. Then I’ll be back!”

Taebeom, who had been watching Yuwon’s back as he got out of the car, asked Junseok, who was sitting in the driver’s seat. The corners of his mouth, which had been smiling softly when he was with Yuwon, had now hardened.
“You attached the kids properly, right?”
“Yes, we supplemented the manpower for 24 hours with 3 shifts, so you don’t have to worry too much.”
“The academy.”
“I checked, and they said it’s a pretty well-known academy around here. We contacted the academy in advance and told them to proceed without any issues.”
Even without saying it, he knew that Yuwon was quite stressed about studying.
Every night, he would groan and study alone, then fall asleep on the desk, and sometimes he would even get a nosebleed while eating breakfast, so there was no way he couldn’t know. So when Yuwon first talked about wanting to attend an academy, he had no choice but to allow it.
“Just in case, we picked relatively young-looking kids and had them go undercover. You don’t have to worry too much.”
“Okay. Good work.”
However, it wasn’t that he fully trusted Cha Yuwon. He couldn’t leave him alone when he was still looking for a chance to run away at every opportunity. So in the end, he decided to attach a few kids by Yuwon’s side.
Since he hadn’t completely dealt with those guys yet, it was natural to assign people to Yuwon.
Taebeom’s eyes crinkled softly as he watched Yuwon’s back, who seemed excited to go out alone for the first time in a long while, hopping like a rabbit and entering the building.
And as soon as Yuwon’s figure disappeared into the building, the atmosphere surrounding Taebeom instantly turned eerie.
“Go to Ganghwa.”
“Yes, hyung-nim.”
Junseok, who had been increasing the speed, briefly stopped at the red light and checked Taebeom’s expression through the rearview mirror. Judging by the boss’s mood, it didn’t seem like it would end easily today.
Recalling the blood-soaked day, Junseok let out a small sigh inwardly. After leaving Seoul and entering the highway, Junseok drove the car relentlessly. The road was not busy, so they were able to arrive in Ganghwa earlier than expected.
The two men got out of the car after arriving at a factory in Ganghwa. Although it was still midday, the inside of the factory located in a remote area was pitch-dark without turning on the lights. As Taebeom and Junseok entered with familiar steps, the large men sitting near the bonfire stood up and bowed their upper bodies nearly 90 degrees.
“Hyung-nim, you’ve come.”
Taebeom, who acknowledged the greeting with a nod, sat in the seat the large men offered. Lighting a cigarette with the clicking sound of a lighter, he gave Junseok a look. With quick wit, Junseok asked the large men,
“That bastard, where is he?”
“We put him in the warehouse.”
At Junseok’s words, the men pointed to the warehouse set up on one side of the factory and answered.
“Bring him out.”
“Yes, hyung-nim.”
At Taebeom’s mere two words, the large men ran towards the warehouse. Taebeom closed his eyes, tilted his head back, inhaled deeply, and exhaled.
“We brought him.”
Before long, the large men forced a man to kneel in front of Taebeom.
“Ugh, ugh!!!”
“Be quiet!”
The large man who gagged the man hit the back of his head and then kicked his shin.
“Ugh, ooh, ugh!”
The man, who curled up after being hit by the large man, raised his head as if he belatedly noticed Taebeom. The man twisted his body with his arms and legs tied and shouted something. However, blocked by the gag, his words were shattered and only screams remained.
“Whew….”
Taebeom, who had been slowly watching the man with his eyes narrowed, threw the shortened cigarette on the floor and extinguished the embers with the toe of his shoe.
“Choi Myungjin.”
Taebeom, who called the man’s name in a low voice, gestured to one of the large men. Then, the large man standing next to the man named Choi Myungjin roughly removed the gag.
“D-, do you think our hyung-nim will stay still after this?”
As soon as his blocked mouth was freed, Myungjin shouted, raising the veins in his neck. As if Myungjin’s appearance was amusing, Taebeom loosened his long crossed legs. Taebeom, who bent over to look down at Myungjin, twisted his lips.
“If he doesn’t stay still, what will the Twin Swords do?”
“Y-, yo-…!!”
“And it seems like they’ve already given up on you.”
At Taebeom’s words, Myungjin’s eyes flickered greatly. Myungjin’s face, which had hardened with a look of disbelief, cracked at Taebeom’s following words.
“President Park seems to be slow-witted but good at handling affairs. Judging by how he quickly cuts off the tail first out of concern for his own neck.”
“Wh-, what do you…!”
“You know Cha Yuwon.”
At Taebeom’s words, Myungjin’s eyes, which had been racking his brain, suddenly took on a cloudy hue. Cha Yuwon. It was a name he hadn’t heard in a long time but could never forget.
Taebeom’s voice lowered even further as he looked down at Myungjin, who couldn’t hide his agitation as soon as he heard Yuwon’s name.
“Tell me everything you know about Cha Yuwon.”
Seeing Taebeom’s eyes, Myungjin instinctively thought that in order to survive, he had to somehow hide what he had done. Myungjin shook his head and denied Taebeom’s words.
“N-, nothing…!”
“It would be best for you to speak without leaving anything out. Including what you did to Cha Yuwon, everything.”
Taebeom’s eyes darkened at the sight of Myungjin shedding tears as if it were unfair and shaking his head.
“Bring him.”
At Taebeom’s words, the large men moved diligently. Myungjin’s gaze also followed them. Myungjin’s eyes, which had discovered someone left in the darkness, widened greatly.
“Ugh…!”
And realizing that someone was his close friend from the past, Myungjin moved his tightly bound hands and feet and crawled towards Taebeom.
“I-, I was wrong! It’s all my fa-…! Ple-, please just spare my life, I beg you, it’s all my fault!”
Taebeom, who had been looking down at Myungjin, who crawled under his feet while squirming his body that was worse than a bug, had his lower jaw tremble slightly. Taebeom wanted to tear apart and kill Myungjin right in front of his eyes. The man in front of his eyes had tormented Yuwon so terribly that it made the few lines describing all those events seem pointless.
“If you want to live, tell me everything. Everything you did to Cha Yuwon.”

As soon as I got out of the car, I entered the building. The black card I held tightly in my hand was none other than a black card. I gripped the card with Kwon Taebeom’s English name engraved on it in a matte finish and exhaled hot breath.
“This card must be really usable, right?”
I loved the black card flaunting its matte appearance.
If I could, I wanted to buy a card necklace and wear it around my neck. But then the sophistication of this black card wouldn’t come through. With a wistful heart, I pouted my lips and went back the way I came to check the situation outside.
As if firmly believing that I would have entered the building, the chairman’s car Kwon Taebeom was riding in was disappearing far away. Just in case, I counted exactly 10 seconds before leaving the building. I quickly moved my feet and headed to the 24-hour convenience store on the first floor of the next building.
