Is It Forbidden to Bully the Heroine of the Novel? - Chapter 6
Chapter 6
Jiang Mansion. Jiang Yao jumped down from the carriage and swaggered in, showing that she had no intention of keeping up the refined image like Murong Qing by waiting and walking at a leisurely pace.
Murong Qing gritted his teeth and had no choice but to raise his voice after passing through the gate, “Miss Jiang.”
Hearing the voice, Jiang Yao stopped and turned around to see Murong Qing, who, unlike his malicious demeanour in the Moonlight Pavilion, now wore a gentle and refined mask. He greeted her politely, “Miss Jiang, it has been a while since Qing paid his respects to the Prime Minister and his wife. Could Miss Jiang show me the way?
What’s this? Suddenly blind and unable to find the way?
Jiang Yao thought with disdain as she lethargically led the way.
Finally, the two of them arrived together. Murong Qing lowered his voice by two degrees and asked, “Miss Jiang, what do you think of Song Muyun’s service?
With her hands on her hips, Jiang Yao replied impatiently, “Just so-so. What can it be?”
She didn’t want to talk to Murong Qing about Song Muyun.
She couldn’t wait for them to part quickly. If he stayed around Song Muyun for a day, she’d be worried and uncomfortable for the same amount of time.
She could risk her life, but she couldn’t risk the Jiang family.
The only thing that was certain now was that Murong Qing was two-faced. Outwardly refined and polite, he often acted erratically behind the scenes.
She felt very shallow, but Murong Qing seemed to sense her intentions. Was he unhappy with Song Muyun’s service?
He relaxed a bit and said, “There are several young men in the Moonlight Pavilion who are rumoured to be skilled in music, chess, calligraphy, and painting. Many young ladies admire them. If you’re interested, I can take you to choose. As the daughter of a criminal, Song Muyun isn’t even worthy of being intimate with you.
He wanted to divert Jiang Yao’s attention by deliberately belittling Song Muyun to get her to focus elsewhere.
Jiang Yao was even more irritated, wondering if Song Muyun was blind or if Murong Qing’s actions had affected her judgement. How could she like someone like him?
She frowned at Murong Qing, still unable to understand. He was average looking at best, even her stupid brother was better looking than Murong Qing. Damn, what poor taste!
Murong Qing’s smile stiffened under her scrutinising gaze. He wanted to ask Jiang Yao why she was looking at him like that, but she had already walked away.
Jiang Yao was angry, and with good martial arts skills, she walked like she was flying. Murong Qing was more focused on his studies, his martial arts were average, so of course he couldn’t catch up. In his mind, he cursed Jiang Yao eight hundred times.
Fortunately, Jiang Huai’s voice came from nearby, causing Jiang Yao to stop in her tracks.
“Sis, why are you here now… Oh, Seventh Prince, did you come back with my sister?”
Oh, the foolish brother was here, forgetful as always. He even dared to smile at Murong Qing. Looks like he’ll need another beating later.
Jiang Yao thought, feeling somewhat unhappy. Her expression seemed a bit cold and intimidating at the moment.
Jiang Huai wanted to say something, but he got scared and didn’t dare to speak. He scratched the back of his head and could only whisper, “I didn’t do anything wrong this time, why so angry…”
Jiang Yao looked at him and said coldly, “Go with the Seventh Prince to find our parents. After that, come to my court to find me.”
Jiang Huai was startled, his puppy dog eyes pleading, his timid gaze, his shoulders drooping. “I, I didn’t do anything…”
“Shut up and go quickly.”
Jiang Yao didn’t want to waste time here. As long as she got Murong Qing out of the Moonlight Pavilion, she could do whatever she wanted.
With his elder sister overpowering him, Jiang Huai had no choice but to take the Seventh Prince away first.
Murong Qing still smiled gently at Jiang Yao, unlike his behaviour at the Moonlight Pavilion. Jiang Yao thought he was just affected.
Without even looking, Murong Qing turned around and left.
When he lowered his head, his expression turned dark for a moment. When he raised it again, he seemed as relaxed as before as he watched Jiang Huai come closer and put his arm around him, casually chatting away.
Before Jiang Yao left, she turned around and saw them walking arm in arm, which sparked anger in her heart. She really wanted to grab a whip and give that fool a good thrashing.
She didn’t, purely out of self-control, knowing that everything in the dream hadn’t happened yet.
Jiang Huai hadn’t made any major mistakes. If she found any signs that he was behaving erratically like Murong Qing, she’d surely beat Jiang Huai to death.
In the small courtyard, Jiang Huai escorted Murong Qing and then hurried over to Jiang Yao’s courtyard.
Jiang Yao had been practicing martial arts since she was young. He wasn’t good at either of the two, annoying his sister or annoying his father. Annoying his sister would only result in a good beating.
“Sister, why did you call me here?”
Jiang Yao was calm now, lying on the rocking chair, looking relaxed. She swung her legs and looked at Jiang Huai, “Has Murong Qing left?”
Jiang Huai rubbed the back of his head and looked a little confused. “No, he’s still talking to our parents.”
Jiang Yao replied and suddenly asked, “What do you think of Murong Qing?”
“He’s okay, quite righteous. Why, Sis, do you like him?”
Jiang Yao: …
“One more word of flattery and I’ll hit you.” She clenched her fist. Jiang Huai instinctively dodged, realising that she wasn’t attacking him directly. He quickly smiled to appease her, “Okay, okay, I understand. Then why did you suddenly ask about the Seventh Prince?”
Jiang Yao clicked her tongue impatiently. She didn’t need to hide anything from her family and spoke frankly, “I don’t like Murong Qing. He’s scheming. Stay away from him in the future. Don’t let me catch you playing with him. If I see you cozying up to him, I won’t recognise you.”
Jiang Yao tended to use force in her actions. Jiang Huai had been subdued by her since he was young, and now he didn’t dare speak to his sister out loud. Anyway, he had many friends and usually only exchanged a few words with the Seventh Prince. If they weren’t playing, so be it.
Jiang Huai nodded in agreement and Jiang Yao waved him away. She could summon him at will, but he didn’t mind, he was used to her orders.
Thinking about this dream, Jiang Yao had a restless night. The next day, with dark circles under her eyes, she hurriedly ate breakfast and rushed to the Moonlight Pavilion. She had to act quickly and not let Murong Qing get ahead of her.
Jiang Yao was well prepared, with money in her hand and a red jade fan in her hand. As she walked through the entrance of the Moonlight Pavilion, the madam came over to greet her, waving a pink fan. She received a silver coin from Jiang Yao, “Sorry to bother you. I want Song Muyun and a private room.”
The madam paused for a moment, thinking that another bold one had arrived, apparently a young lady from a high society. No wonder she dared to interact with a criminal’s daughter and even compete for the Seventh Prince. The madam’s mind raced, but she smiled submissively and instructed someone to arrange things.
