Into the healing farming game - CH 33
47th Day of Spring
Day 46 was filled with planting seeds.
I wrestled with the soil all day and planted countless seeds.
Crawling on all fours (to protect my back), with my knees covered in dirt, wasn’t an issue.
In the end, what mattered was that the work was successfully completed before the day ended.
After this, there would be no more spring planting.
Aside from harvesting and watering crops, the farming routine would be on hold for a while.
I felt so happy when I realized this fact while lying in bed.
It made me question whether this was really a healing farming game.
Aside from farming, everything else is enjoyable.
Morning of Day 47.
Magic.
Magic!
Magic!!
Beginner magic level 1 was added to the skill column.
It was a worthwhile result of my continued efforts to learn magic in some way.
Except for logging and cooking, there were no significant changes to the skill window.
Farming: Advanced level 1.
Fishing: Advanced level 1.
Logging: Intermediate level 2.
Mining: Intermediate level 5.
Cooking: Beginner level 6.
Combat: Intermediate level 3.
All skills except cooking and magic remained at the intermediate level.
As soon as I got the magic skill, my mind began to waver.
A feeling of floating dust, a slight auditory hallucination buzzing and shaking my senses mercilessly.
The memories and knowledge gained were a little different from when I learned other skills before.
It was developed in a way that commands were given by the brain rather than being done naturally by the body.
It would be appropriate to say that it became a little clearer.
I stretched out my hand into the air.
A slight breeze flowed.
The air current might have been mixed with magical power.
Control methods came to mind.
My confidence grew as well.
“Oh…”
It created a flow in a room where there was no wind.
The slight movement of air blew gently across my face, just as I wished.
Warm air brushed against my face.
Actually, if I think about it, it’s quite insignificant.
This was roughly the only thing that could be done with level 1 magic.
If compared to a superpower, it was a very, very weak telekinesis.
There was a big advantage in being able to grow.
That meant it wasn’t particularly attractive at this stage.
Still, I did not let go of the wide smile on my face, as it was an ability that would definitely see the light of day one day.
Anyway, it was magic.
It was a joy to learn the magic I had wanted to learn while pursuing romance.
“Good.”
The days when I was busy with morning farming work—drinking a glass of water and immediately heading outside—were over, for a while.
There was no need to rush through morning work.
With the spring sowing complete, the 5-6 hours of morning time were gone.
Well.
As always, this game doesn’t tolerate wasted time.
In this case, I probably couldn’t tolerate it myself.
This is a situation where the term ‘workaholic’ is very appropriate.
It’s good to enjoy leisure, but I still find it more rewarding to work hard at something.
I filled the watering can with water and moistened the ground.
That was the end of the morning farming work—watering.
I slowly walked to the production table, looking at the green growth of life.
The time had come to do other things while it rained.
The time for architecture had arrived.
It was time to reap the benefits of all the hard work I’d put into gathering basic ingredients.
I never thought there would be anything like construction, mining, logging, or combat in my life.
They say you never know what will happen in life.
I never imagined I’d be doing architecture.
Eight hundred trees. I decided to start by building a barn, which required 550 stones.
Since I had enough ingredients, I tapped the tab on the white, shiny barn with my finger.
Then, a small miniature barn popped out.
“Huh?”
I thought that would be it, so I checked the information in the UI and encyclopedia just in case.
It turned out that the miniature was used to set up a location for installation.
For a moment, I let go of the concerns troubling my heart.
Location.
I looked around to see where would be best.
If it were too close, it might smell.
Maintaining a reasonable distance, I threw the miniature to an appropriate spot that didn’t damage the field.
Then, the miniature expanded into a large hologram, and the blueprint was displayed in transparent blue light.
Although the blueprint indicated what to do with each ingredient and how to do it, it was easy to understand.
However, the sheer size and the feeling of confusion upon encountering it for the first time weighed on me.
“Can this be built with 800 units…?”
No matter how I thought about it, it seemed like it would require over 8,000 trees.
I guess it’s a game mechanic.
Although this is no longer a game but reality.
Thinking that good things are good things, I took out a bunch of ingredients from my bag.
Stones and trees poured onto the floor.
Hammers, chisels, and saws I had bought from the store as construction tools.
In fact, they looked more like woodworking tools, but I didn’t think that would matter since I had no related knowledge.
Cut healthy trees and piece them together to create similar shapes.
As the blueprint’s blue light requested, I picked up the saw and cut the wood, then split the wood with a hammer and chisel.
When I added wood to create a roughly similar shape, the surrounding areas and shapes naturally formed.
“Ah. This is how it works.”
When you put one piece in, the parts connected to it fit together naturally.
Alright. Now, only 799 more trees and 550 more stones were needed to complete the barn.
I had no idea that the number requested referred to the number of hours of labor.
To complain, this method was very efficient and short compared to an actual construction period.
I was very satisfied that I wasn’t really building from scratch, so I continued working.
Cut the stone and put it in.
Some parts of the drawing on the blueprint were filled in.
Chop and cut the tree.
The connected parts were strengthened, and the shape drawn virtually was revealed in reality.
It was kind of fun.
Someone seeing this scene might think it’s very strange…
I think there’s a cheat called magic as an excuse to use in times like this.
I continued working with the mindset that if I got caught, I’d make a quick response.
Before I knew it, the framework was complete, revealing a form fit for a barn.
Although it was still crude in appearance, I felt proud that I had made it with my own hands.
Before I knew it, sweat was beading on my forehead.
My exposed skin appeared shiny, dusty, and dark.
The speed gradually increased.
It was proof that I was becoming proficient at the work.
I guess it’s because the shapes requested are usually similar and there’s nothing particularly tricky about it.
By the time the sun was overhead, half of the construction was already completed.
I had used about 400 wood and 250 stones.
This meant that if I could do just as much as I had, I could build a barn today.
Of course, even if construction was completed, using the building was a different matter.
Only when filled with animals would the building reveal its utility value.
Animals could be purchased from the system store, but…
I thought it would be right to buy them from outside.
Even if it was just crops, the sudden appearance of animals might raise a lot of suspicion among the villagers.
I didn’t want things to escalate unnecessarily.
Once suspicion arises, an excuse becomes a lie.
If that continues, trust will eventually start to crack.
Rather than building a bad relationship where people don’t trust each other, it’s better to mix in a little bit of lies but keep the truth at the core.
I’m thinking of dispelling doubts by bringing in animals from outside, building an appropriate size, and then discreetly purchasing animals from the system to expand the size.
Whatever it is, raising livestock is not an urgent task at all.
It doesn’t matter if I take it slow.
The work continued until evening.
As the height increased, it became common to climb up by stepping on trees and stones.
I fell from a pretty high place once, but maybe because my body was strong, I didn’t feel any pain.
I just roughly shook off the dust and went back to work.
Although it was difficult, it didn’t feel difficult.
Architecture at this level was always welcome.
Of course, the quantity of materials required and the level of difficulty would increase as I progressed, but it was fun in its own way.
Making something with my own hands always gives me a certain sense of accomplishment.
“Oh.”
I managed to build the entire barn before the sun set.
Before I knew it, hay was spread on the floor.
Red wood lined the exterior walls.
Properly divided areas and neatly decorated interior.
47th Day of Spring
By simply connecting the divided pieces, a great building was created.
Here, a future where we could obtain milk and eggs and use them as cooking ingredients was quickly envisioned.
By weaving fabric using materials such as sheep fur, rabbit fur, or duck fur, I could now make each piece of clothing I wore myself.
I looked at the barn with a proud heart.
Tomorrow, I would focus on the chicken coop.
We were now in a position to consider expanding the house if we had time, but I felt very satisfied with successfully completing the first step.
I wanted to heal rather than do other work in my spare time.
Mining or exploring dungeons. Rather than something like learning magic, I just grabbed a chair and a fishing rod and headed to the lake in front of the mine.
Fishing awaited me.
I already missed that thrilling touch.
Covered in dust and sweat, I jumped into the lake to relax.
The clothes had already been taken off a long time ago.
Maybe it was because I’d been swimming for a while; moving around in the water felt completely natural to me.
In a half-naked state, I sat down on a chair and held out my fishing rod.
Thinking that I had a fruitful day today, I wondered if it would be okay to take some time off.
That kind of compensation mentality dominated my mind.
“It’s good.”
Spring passed by.
I secretly laughed as I looked toward the end of the season.
21st century Earth.
It still felt like a dream sometimes when I woke up in the morning, leading a life like this in a situation I could not have dreamed of in modern times.
I didn’t know I could live this hard.
I had no idea it would be this much fun.
The word “healing” remained a bit ambiguous as we continued to work every day, but if we imagined the future that would someday come…
The words written in the letter on the first day were not entirely lies.
Of course, wouldn’t it be possible for the word “healing” to be established in the final conclusion only if everything leading up to that process was excluded?
Sigh.
The slight feeling of resistance flowing through the fishing rod brought my thoughts back to reality.
Did I spend about 30 minutes in a daze like that?
An exhilarating feeling flowed through my forearms.
A feeling of intense resistance that was different from the minnow that usually came when I pulled.
That fresh vitality fluttered, an outlaw hanging from the end of a fishing rod beneath the turbulent waters.
“Come!”
I tried hard to catch it while raising my fishing level, but I couldn’t catch it.
When I finally let go of my mind and came to heal, it welcomed me with excitement.
The tension of the fishing rod being pulled tightly.
The tightly clenched jaw of my hand held on firmly as if squeezing the fishing rod.
The brilliant light of five colors glimpsed beneath the surface of the water, allowing me to guess its identity.
Shiny jewel fish.
Why is the name like this?
Is it just a translation problem, or does it simply refer to this guy?
The light emitted from the red jewel and rainbow scales embedded in the fish’s head brightly illuminated the dark lake.
He urged me to be confident, saying that the luxury of advanced fishing was nothing.
Okay.
There was no sense of imminent danger that I had encountered for the first time.
He was proof that I, too, had grown well.
Break it down and lose your strength.
I conserved my strength to match the movements of the shaking fish.
The fishing rod could be freely controlled to play within a certain area.
For the first time.
There were things you only see once you reached the advanced level.
It was a different feeling from being forced to eat it.
In terms of feeling, it was intermediate level 11 or 12.
In the advanced level, there was a realization that felt like breaking through a wall.
Should I say that what I saw was really different, or that the sharpness and delicacy felt through my senses were different?
There was a unique sense of leisure and superiority that couldn’t be expressed in words.
“Flaw.”
The fish’s struggles intensified.
Yes, the jeweled fish.
It was very beautiful, the surface of the water covered with light as if firecrackers had exploded.
I lifted the fishing rod, watching the dazzlingly gorgeous fish struggle to the end.
The desperate struggle of a fish going back and forth between the top and bottom of the water.
The winner of the short match was me.
A fish that was drooping and fluttering slightly admitted defeat.
I put it neatly in my bag.
I thought I might build an aquarium later.
It would be fun to make a small fish tank and collect these creatures one by one.
Now, only one of the three rare species remained.
Only the meteorite carp remained.
Shiny jewel fish.
I felt like today’s achievements were enough, so I stood up just as the sun was about to hide its head.
It was a pretty leisurely schedule.
Even if I didn’t just farm, my schedule became much more relaxed.
This game had the title of a healing farming game.
I wondered if farming really was healing.
And so the night of the 47th day drew to a close.
