If You Want Me - Episode 47
<Episode 47>
The examination took quite a long time.
For ordinary people, they would be able to receive the results a few days after the examination, but Do-gyeom was different. Perhaps he had made arrangements in advance or spent that much money, but he was able to get the results on the same day.
As Seo-won and Do-gyeom entered the examination room together, the doctor looked at the two of them and asked,
“Are you two going to hear the results together?”
“No…”
“Yes.”
Before Seo-won could say no, Do-gyeom answered first.
I knew he would do that… It was absurd, but since there was nothing that bothered him except for the pregnancy, it seemed like there would be no problem even if he knew about Seo-won’s condition. Because there was nothing wrong.
And if he stubbornly refused, Do-gyeom might become more suspicious and dig into it, so he decided to obediently go along with it. As Seo-won gave up, the doctor carefully opened his mouth while reading the situation.
“I’ll give you a booklet with detailed information when you leave, but first I’ll explain Yoon Seo-won’s results. There’s nothing major to worry about, but since you’re pregnant, it seems you have some morning sickness. There were signs of nutritional imbalance.”
“No wonder he looked thin.”
Before Seo-won could even react to the doctor’s words, Do-gyeom muttered while looking at Seo-won.
Except for when he went to the obstetrics and gynecology clinic, he hadn’t really weighed himself, so he didn’t know, but it seemed he had lost weight. He thought people usually gained weight when pregnant, but he really hadn’t been eating properly.
He should eat for the sake of providing nutrients to the baby, but whenever he ate something, his stomach didn’t feel good, so he ate less than usual. As Seo-won was feeling a bit depressed, the doctor continued.
“If the morning sickness is too severe, it can be controlled with medication, but… the pheromones of the partner alpha have the least side effects and are most effective. As much as possible, it’s good to make time to be with your partner alpha. Other than that, there were no major abnormal findings.”
“I see…”
Seo-won answered with a small nod.
Many of the things that occur during pregnancy and usually make pregnant women suffer can be resolved by being with the partner alpha. Fortunately, Seo-won’s morning sickness and fatigue weren’t severe compared to other fervent omegas, but one reason he was suffering was because his time with Do-gyeom was only about once a week.
The doctor’s explanation was kind, but there wasn’t much more Seo-won could do. As he nodded his head, indicating he understood for now, Do-gyeom crossed his arms with a very displeased face.
“I’ll prescribe you morning sickness medication, so take it.”
“…”
And then he even said that. He seemed to dislike the idea of Seo-won spending time with Jihwan, whom he disliked more than anyone.
Seo-won had no particular reason to refuse Do-gyeom prescribing him medication, so this time, he nodded his head without rejecting it. He thought it was fortunate that he had suffered from morning sickness.
“The morning sickness medication usually causes a lot of drowsiness, so they’ll explain that part in detail when prescribing it. Then next is… Seo Do-gyeom.”
The doctor tapped on the computer and checked Do-gyeom’s examination record. He looked through it a bit and gave a small nod.
“Last time, there was a pheromone abnormality, but it was difficult to confirm the reason… Today, I clearly understand.”
“What is it?”
Do-gyeom showed a bright expression at the doctor’s words. As he immediately asked as if urging, the doctor made a slightly troubled face and opened his mouth.
“It’s one-sided imprinting.”
“…One-sided imprinting?”
Do-gyeom muttered with an unfamiliar face.
Seo-won was equally dumbfounded. The doctor seemed to think the two of them didn’t know the meaning of one-sided imprinting, so he looked at Do-gyeom and explained.
“It’s understandable that you may not know, as one-sided imprinting is a very rare case. There are so few research cases. Do you remember when I said last time that there was a possibility of imprinting?”
“Yes.”
Seo-won had never heard of it, but Do-gyeom nodded as if he had received such a diagnosis at the hospital before.
At Do-gyeom’s reaction, the doctor turned the monitor screen so that Seo-won and Do-gyeom could see the diagnosis record.
On the screen shown by the doctor, there were two graphs. One was Do-gyeom’s pheromone levels from his previous examination, and the other was the levels from today’s examination.
Even to Seo-won who knew nothing about this, the previous graph was erratic and chaotic, while the one from today’s examination was relatively gentle and smooth.
“Unlike the graph we saw last time, your pheromones are stabilized now. This pattern is usually seen when with the imprinted omega.”
“The imprinted omega?”
“Yes. When there is a lot of one-sided desire from one side, such exceptional things can happen.”
At the doctor’s words, Do-gyeom slowly turned his head and looked at Seo-won. His eyes seemed to ask if he was referring to this omega.
Seo-won also met his gaze with an unbelievable face.
Do-gyeom… imprinted on me? And he one-sidedly desired me a lot?
Not only did I not imprint on him, but Do-gyeom one-sidedly imprinted on me. It didn’t make sense. However, thinking about it, there was a very small possibility. The only time his reason was shaken, other than liking me, was once. Only during his rut.
Not everyone imprints just because they spent a rut together. But at that time, his head was consumed by sexual desire and he desired the omega in front of him, so could he have imprinted then? Unless it was then, there was no case where Do-gyeom one-sidedly desired me a lot.
But it’s still unbelievable. I was even more out of my mind that day because of the drugs mixed in my drink, but I didn’t imprint on him and only one-sided imprinting progressed for him. Wouldn’t it have been better if it was mutual?
While Seo-won was thinking alone, Do-gyeom had a dumbfounded face as if he couldn’t believe his situation. Belatedly regaining his senses, he asked the doctor as if arguing.
“That’s absurd… Ha, then what’s the way to break the imprinting?”
“As you know, it’s not easy to forcibly break an imprinting. There is a way to break it with medication, but it’s not a recommended method as it causes major side effects.”
“Then what should I do?!”
Do-gyeom raised his voice as if angry. It wasn’t the doctor’s fault that one-sided imprinting had progressed, but he seemed unable to control his rising anger.
At the terrible alpha pheromones that instantly filled the examination room, the doctor trembled and answered in an even more discouraged voice than before.
“Well… you’ll have to give up on your feelings for it to gradually break…”
“No, I never even liked him in the first place, so what do you mean give up?”
“Even if you didn’t know, there must have been cases where you unconsciously desired it.”
“What nonsense. So are you saying I tried to make this guy my partner?”
Do-gyeom abruptly stood up from the chair and frowned deeply. He grumbled that there was absolutely no such thing. He asked the doctor even though it wasn’t an answer that would come out.
No matter how many times he had seen the doctor in charge, taking out his anger on an innocent person… Seo-won, fully understanding how embarrassed the doctor would be, grabbed Do-gyeom’s hand and pulled it down.
“Young Master, calm down for now. It’s just the result that came out…”
“It must be a misdiagnosis. We need to do it again.”
“Yes, yes. We can just get tested again.”
“Come with me tomorrow too.”
When Seo-won spoke as if comforting a sulky child, Do-gyeom’s momentum subsided. However, he suddenly gazed at Seo-won and said,
Come with him tomorrow too. He didn’t want to come together tomorrow. Although he had said he would help, the hospital itself seemed to suck the energy out of people and it wasn’t fun, so he didn’t want to come twice.
When Seo-won noticeably hesitated instead of answering right away this time, Do-gyeom continued.
“For me to confirm whether the one-sided imprinting is a misdiagnosis or not, you need to come with me.”
“…Okay.”
He really didn’t want to go… but Seo-won eventually nodded his head at the words that it was inevitable for an accurate examination.
* * *
After receiving the morning sickness medication and leaving the hospital, his car was waiting in front of the main gate.
He was about to naturally get in the car as always, but Seo-won suddenly stopped while holding the back seat door.
Since they had agreed to get examined at the hospital tomorrow as well, he had to stay in Seoul for a day. Normally, he would have Seo-won stay at his parents’ house, but he had an uneasy feeling for some reason.
Seo-won naturally took a step back and said to Do-gyeom,
“I’ll take a taxi.”
“Where are you going? Don’t tell me you’re going to that countryside house and coming back tomorrow? Such a wasteful thing.”
“No. I’m going to stay at my parents’ house.”
Do-gyeom frowned, looking displeased.
Why is he acting like that? Isn’t it natural to sleep at the house you have when you come to Seoul? As Seo-won looked up at him with an incomprehensible face, he clicked his tongue softly and spoke in an annoyed voice.
“I even gave you an apartment, so why are you staying at your parents’ house?”
“I haven’t received that house yet.”
“You just haven’t stamped your seal, but it’s yours. There’s no problem going in.”
“Even if it’s not for that reason, my parents’ house is more comfortable. I’ve moved out all my things, so I don’t have any necessary items or clothes to change into.”
“You can just buy them. Let’s go to the department store, no… If you’re having a hard time, I’ll buy them for you.”
Do-gyeom was ready to drag Seo-won to the department store right away and make him buy all the daily necessities, but he seemed to belatedly recall that Seo-won was pregnant and immediately changed his words.
Is that what he calls consideration…? Seo-won let out a small sigh and shook his head.
“I don’t like wasting money. And since I’m in Seoul, it would be nice to see my mom, so please just stop asking.”
“…”
Although he had recently stopped by his parents’ house in Seoul and seen his mother, perhaps because Seo-won was pregnant, her worries were not small. It seemed good to see her while he was here and have a conversation.
When Seo-won spoke in a way that meant to just let him go home, Do-gyeom shut his mouth tightly. However, his eyes still seemed to have a lot to say.
Why, again? What is he trying to say? As Seo-won faced him with heightened vigilance, he hesitated and opened his mouth.
“You said you’d help until I get better.”
“What? I did, right?”
“If it’s one-sided imprinting, you’re indispensable. Shouldn’t you be with me?”
…What is he suddenly saying?
I wondered why he reacted lukewarmly to me saying I would go to my parents’ house… Did he think we would casually be together if I went to the apartment? No, more than that… Seo-won blinked his eyes and tilted his head to one side.
“Didn’t you say it was a misdiagnosis?”
“We don’t know that yet.”
“Even if it’s one-sided imprinting, it doesn’t seem like I’m necessary for you to get better. The doctor said you need to give up…”
“I said I never liked you.”
“Yes, well…”
When Do-gyeom spoke as if telling him not to misunderstand like that, looking displeased, Seo-won somehow felt deflated.
He just said the same thing the doctor did, so why is he flaring up like that? It’s not like he’s hurting him by telling him to give up on him…
