I Possessed a Terminally Ill Omega – Episode 218
Click, as the study door opened, Secretary Park turned around and, seeing Han Seung-jae enter, stepped back slightly from the desk.
Han Seung-jae’s approaching gaze was quite sharp. While he usually didn’t show emotion when looking at people, now Han Seung-jae’s eyes held a suspicious look.
Secretary Park reviewed his words, wondering if he had made a mistake. He had tried to minimize the shock to Seo I-Kyung by trimming the details while mixing in a little truth. But perhaps he shouldn’t have done even that.
Secretary Park spoke to Han Seung-jae as he sat at the desk.
“I’m sorry. I should have checked my surroundings more carefully before making the call.”
It was an incident that occurred due to Secretary Park’s carelessness in the first place. If it hadn’t happened, Seo I-Kyung wouldn’t have fallen ill.
Han Seung-jae leaned back leisurely in his chair.
“You seem to have gained more trust than I thought.”
“Pardon?”
Secretary Park had been mentally reviewing his words to Seo I-Kyung in the bedroom, trying to identify any potential mistakes. Surprised by Han Seung-jae’s unexpected comment, he inadvertently asked for clarification.
“He said he believes your words.”
Secretary Park closed his mouth again. Han Seung-jae was speaking with a softened gaze and casual tone, as if Seo I-Kyung were standing before him instead of Secretary Park.
“He’s someone you trust, isn’t he?”
“……”
“That’s why I believe Secretary Park’s words too.”
There was no wavering in Seo I-Kyung’s eyes as he said this. Seo I-Kyung fully understood why Secretary Park was by Han Seung-jae’s side. He was taciturn, discreet, and had the sensitivity to keenly perceive Han Seung-jae’s words. Seo I-Kyung must have known that Han Seung-jae trusted such a Secretary Park.
Han Seung-jae originally didn’t trust people easily or keep them close. As a result, the people around him changed frequently.
Min Ra-hyun had been an exception, because he remembered his cheerful childhood before going abroad to study, when he easily made friends with anyone. He thought it could be the same with Seo I-Kyung. That’s why he let him into the house, but it was a useless act.
Just as Min Ra-hyun’s temperament had changed over time, Seo I-Kyung was different from the person Han Seung-jae knew from photographs.
He approaches while being afraid, and when Han Seung-jae reaches out to touch him, he steps back a couple of paces, consistently maintaining distance. Yet the pheromones flowing from his body are maddeningly erotic, tantalizing people.
Han Seung-jae still felt the lingering warmth on his fingertips. Around midnight, when Seo I-Kyung woke up, he had told him to eat porridge to help regain his strength. Seo I-Kyung seemed to eat silently without saying anything, but ended up getting indigestion and triggering a vicious cycle of more fever.
As a result, Han Seung-jae only reaffirmed his feeling of inconvenience. He had never been put in a difficult situation by anyone, nor had he experienced troublesome things. He had made sure such things didn’t happen in the first place. But that didn’t apply to Seo I-Kyung.

“That’s enough for today.”
Han Seung-jae left the study. Secretary Park followed, bowing to Han Seung-jae as he exited.
“I’ll come to pick you up tomorrow.”
“Alright.”
Han Seung-jae walked towards the bedroom without looking back. He grabbed the doorknob and opened it silently. However, upon entering, Han Seung-jae faced an empty bed with only traces of someone having lain there. There was no sign of Seo I-Kyung anywhere in the room.
He had clearly seen Seo I-Kyung lying down and closing his eyes before he left. So he had finished some work with Secretary Park while Seo I-Kyung was sleeping. But had he woken up in the meantime?
Han Seung-jae’s steps led to the terrace. But there too, Seo I-Kyung was nowhere to be seen.
Han Seung-jae pulled out his phone. After a short ring, a vibration sound came from near the bed. Han Seung-jae ended the call and left the bedroom.
Where could he have gone in that condition?
Han Seung-jae emerged on the first floor from the elevator. A passing assistant greeted him with a tense face. Han Seung-jae was looking for someone among them. But the person he was seeking was still not visible.
He was about to head to the studio when Butler Do, coming out of the dressing room with Seo I-Kyung’s cardigan, hurriedly approached Han Seung-jae with a surprised face.
“Is there anything you need?”
“He’s not on the second floor.”
It seemed the need wasn’t for an object, but a person. Butler Do, as if understanding Han Seung-jae’s words, pointed in the opposite direction. Han Seung-jae turned back from his steps towards the studio. The direction Butler Do was pointing was the entrance.
“He’s in the garden now.”
Han Seung-jae’s brow furrowed slightly. Seo I-Kyung had been sick all night, even getting indigestion, and had only started to stabilize in the morning. Yet he had let Seo I-Kyung go outside in that condition without stopping him?
“You let him go out like that?”
Han Seung-jae’s stride widened. Butler Do followed alongside, murmuring with a flustered face.
“He hasn’t been out long. He said he felt too stuffy being in the room all the time, but he’s not alone in the garden.”
Han Seung-jae’s eyes turned cold. Butler Do quickly added:
“The doctor is looking after him.”
Han Seung-jae opened the door and came out to the garden. In the distance, he saw Seo I-Kyung sitting at a table. As Butler Do had said, the doctor was standing beside him.
Thud, at the sound of footsteps, the doctor turned first. With dark circles under his eyes, he beamed a bright smile towards Han Seung-jae.
“Director Han, you’ve come out.”
Only then did Seo I-Kyung turn his head to the opposite side. However, the doctor obscured his view of the approaching Han Seung-jae. Just as the doctor was about to open his mouth to tell Han Seung-jae how attentively he had been caring for Seo I-Kyung:
“Why are you out here? I’m sure I told you to sleep.”
The doctor turned his body slightly. Han Seung-jae seemed to be in a bad mood. Seo I-Kyung looked up with a pale face.
The doctor quickly spoke up, fearing that the fragile Seo I-Kyung might fall ill again:
“We were just about to go back in.”
The doctor also addressed Seo I-Kyung:
“Isn’t that right?”
The doctor hoped Seo I-Kyung would agree with his words. He thought this would naturally ease Han Seung-jae’s displeasure.
Seo I-Kyung slowly parted his lips, looking at Han Seung-jae:
“Yes. That’s right. I was going to…”
In truth, he wanted to sit a bit longer. Perhaps because he had been lying in bed all day, his fingers felt weak and his body kept feeling heavy. And sitting in the garden seemed to ease his dizzy head. But saying that would trouble the doctor and embarrass Butler Do standing there with the cardigan.
Seo I-Kyung stood up with a sunken face, supporting himself on the table. He couldn’t stubbornly stay seated while causing trouble for others.
It seems Han Seung-jae’s work finished earlier than expected. Although he had guessed this when Secretary Park said goodbye to him as he left, he didn’t expect Han Seung-jae to come down to the garden right away.
“Go and bring some tea.”
After saying this, Han Seung-jae snatched the cardigan from Butler Do’s hands. He unfolded it and draped it over Seo I-Kyung’s shoulders.
Han Seung-jae sat at the table. Seo I-Kyung watched him and then sat down as well, before Han Seung-jae could change his mind. Butler Do turned back the way he came.
Although he reacted calmly on the outside, the doctor couldn’t understand Han Seung-jae’s suddenly changed attitude. Regardless, Han Seung-jae coldly said to him:
“Step aside. Don’t block the sunlight.”
The doctor snapped to attention and moved away from Seo I-Kyung’s side. Now Seo I-Kyung’s face was more visible than before. He was putting his arms into the cardigan and fiddling with the buttons to fasten it.
Suddenly, Seo I-Kyung felt the gaze and looked back. As if he had been waiting, Han Seung-jae said:
“If you’re going to make that face, why don’t you just say you don’t want to go in?”
It was the same with the porridge last night. If it was hard to eat, he could have said so. But Seo I-Kyung forced himself to eat and ended up getting sick.
Butler Do approached the two with tea. He poured tea into cups and placed them in front of Seo I-Kyung and Han Seung-jae.
Han Seung-jae picked up his teacup. Similarly, Seo I-Kyung reached out his hand but then awkwardly rubbed his cheek. Han Seung-jae had repeatedly told him that it was obvious when he was lying. It seemed to be the case this time as well.
