I Possessed a Terminally Ill Omega – Episode 210
Rustle, Jin Seon-yoo picked up the shopping bag he had placed on the empty chair.
“Gi-jun said to bring this as an apology.”
Seo I-Kyung stared at the shopping bag Jin Seon-yoo held out. He had no need to know what was inside, nor any reason to accept it.
Seo I-Kyung shook his head.
“There’s nothing to apologize for, and I won’t accept that either.”
Jin Seon-yoo put the shopping bag back beside him. Seo I-Kyung’s expression was so firm and resolute that he couldn’t insist further.
“Alright. I brought it, but I told him you might not accept it. Don’t worry about it.”
As Jin Seon-yoo raised his wine glass, Seo I-Kyung also lifted his and lightly clinked it. The two glasses made a clear sound as they touched.
“It’s been so long since I’ve been out, since my eldest brother won’t let me go out.”
Seo I-Kyung watched silently as Jin Seon-yoo drank his wine. He lightly swirled the wine glass in his hand and smelled it a bit.
Suddenly, Seo I-Kyung remembered the accident he had caused while drinking wine like water. It was when he went to meet Han Seung-jae’s parents. Contrary to expectations, it was a family gathering, and he was too nervous, plus his heat cycle had overlapped.
“Aren’t you drinking too much?”
Seo I-Kyung put down his glass after toasting and didn’t drink the wine. So Jin Seon-yoo was the only one continuously drinking.
“This much is no problem. And it’s easy to drink because of the sweet fruit aroma.”
***
…Stumbling, Jin Seon-yoo’s legs zigzagged as he entered the suite. With the help of an employee, he barely managed to lie down on the bed.
Seo I-Kyung, who followed, thanked the retreating employee and placed Jin Seon-yoo’s coat and shopping bag on the sofa.
Seo I-Kyung approached the bed and called him repeatedly. Jin Seon-yoo faintly lifted his eyelids. His cheeks were flushed.
Seo I-Kyung sat on the edge of the bed and looked closely at Jin Seon-yoo.
“Are you conscious?”
“Ha, the ceiling is spinning.”
“How could you drink all that?”
Just before, Seo I-Kyung was startled to see Jin Seon-yoo stagger as he stood up from the table. Jin Seon-yoo, barely maintaining his balance, kept saying ‘Why am I so dizzy?’ while holding his head, and then said he might be killed by his eldest brother if he went home like this, so he booked a suite.
“I-Kyung, you go first.”
Jin Seon-yoo’s eyelids, which had barely opened, slowly closed again.
“……”
Seo I-Kyung sighed deeply and reached out. While stroking Jin Seon-yoo’s forehead, he unbuttoned a couple of buttons on his neck. It wasn’t a heat cycle. He had gotten drunk after drinking all the wine, enjoying the excitement of being out for the first time in a long while.
Thud, Seo I-Kyung stood up and took off his jacket. He drank a glass of water to moisten his dry throat. He had tried to support Jin Seon-yoo somehow, but with one arm, it was impossible to handle a drunk person. So he had no choice but to get help from the employee.
After filling a new glass with water and placing it by the bedside, Seo I-Kyung looked out the wide-open window. The sunlight was streaming in long rays. There was still time before Han Seung-jae would get off work.
Seo I-Kyung sat on the edge of the bed. Jin Seon-yoo had come to pick up Seo I-Kyung when he had nowhere to go, and despite being afraid of Jin Tae-won, he had hidden Seo I-Kyung and provided a place to stay. Regardless of the outcome, he had tried his best to help. How could he leave him here alone?
‘…Wasn’t Seung-jae preventing me from meeting him?’
And Seo I-Kyung had realized something while talking with Jin Seon-yoo. He had thought Han Seung-jae was preventing him from meeting Jin Seon-yoo, but it seemed to be a misunderstanding. Jin Seon-yoo had been complaining and cursing that Jin Tae-won wouldn’t let him go out. That’s why he had drunk more wine than usual.
How long had it been like this?
Ring- Seo I-Kyung, who had been lying next to Jin Seon-yoo, sat up. He walked around the bed following the vibration of the phone. It wasn’t his. He checked Jin Seon-yoo’s coat on the sofa.
Taking out the phone from the pocket, the screen showed ‘Little Brother’. The image of the short-tempered Jin Seok-young flashed before Seo I-Kyung’s eyes.
Seo I-Kyung hesitated whether to answer the call and explain the situation. In the meantime, the vibration in his palm stopped abruptly. Seo I-Kyung returned to the bed where Jin Seon-yoo was lying, still holding the phone.
“Seon-yoo.”
Seo I-Kyung called him, but Jin Seon-yoo didn’t move at all.
Meanwhile, the phone vibrated again. Seo I-Kyung pressed the answer button. He couldn’t just leave Jin Seon-yoo here like this. Just as Seo I-Kyung was about to speak, Jin Seok-young’s enraged voice burst through the phone.
[Hey! Where are you? Why aren’t you coming?]
Seo I-Kyung moved the phone slightly away from his ear. It hurt as if his ear might fall off. Nevertheless, Jin Seok-young’s voice continued unabated.
[This bastard begged to go out for just two hours, so I let him, and now you’re not coming home?]
Seo I-Kyung brought the phone back to his ear. At this rate, things would get more awkward for Jin Seon-yoo. It would be better to explain the situation now. If he explained calmly and persuaded him, there seemed to be enough room to resolve the situation.
“Um.”
[Don’t even think about lying that it’s your room. I’m coming down after checking your room right now. Where are you? Aren’t you coming quickly?]
“Well…”
[Speak quickly. What are you going to do if our eldest brother finds out? Huh? I get beaten up every time because of you!]
Jin Seok-young tirelessly poured out his words. Seo I-Kyung slowly pressed the end call button. It was an unavoidable decision. Truly, Seo I-Kyung had no choice.
Seo I-Kyung’s eloquence was no match for Jin Seok-young’s ceaseless torrent of words. He was just angry without even taking a breath. It became clearer that Seo I-Kyung couldn’t persuade him.
Seo I-Kyung, gripping the phone tightly, shouted at Jin Seon-yoo.
“Seon-yoo, wake up!”
Ring-
Seo I-Kyung looked at the ringing phone in his hand with a troubled expression. He put the phone on the bed and shook Jin Seon-yoo.
Even though Jin Seok-young would only get angry and never lay a hand on Jin Seon-yoo, Jin Tae-won was different. Seo I-Kyung had met him at Sangaru before. Jin Tae-won had unhesitatingly grabbed Jin Seon-yoo’s throat and tried to drag him away.
So he could well imagine what Jin Seok-young was worried about. As Jin Seok-young said, if Jin Tae-won saw Jin Seon-yoo in this drunken state, he would not only prevent him from going out in the future but also cause trouble.
Seo I-Kyung used Jin Seon-yoo’s finger to unlock his phone. He was trying to find a way to save Jin Seon-yoo before he got beaten to death. He considered calling Gwon Gi-jun after seeing his recent messages.
Seo I-Kyung knew well that he liked Jin Seon-yoo. So even if he called at that early hour, wouldn’t he answer, come out, buy breakfast, and try to help Seo I-Kyung?
The chances were high that if he called now, Gwon Gi-jun would rush over.
But Jin Seon-yoo’s feelings were still unclear. Therefore, he couldn’t contact Gwon Gi-jun either. Seo I-Kyung greatly wished for Jin Seon-yoo to meet someone who liked him more than anyone and could understand him.
At that moment, Seo I-Kyung’s eyebrows furrowed gloomily. Seo I-Kyung grabbed a pillow and covered Jin Seon-yoo’s phone as if it were a bomb.
“This is bad, Seon-yoo. Your brother keeps calling.”
For a while, Seo I-Kyung desperately tried to wake Jin Seon-yoo without answering the phone. He even brought a wet towel and placed it on Jin Seon-yoo’s forehead. He couldn’t gauge how much time had passed while doing this. Seo I-Kyung turned around at the sound of the phone ringing again. But this time, it wasn’t Jin Seon-yoo’s.
Seo I-Kyung got up and looked down at his own phone. Han Seung-jae’s name on the screen filled his vision.
‘What should I do…’
Seo I-Kyung turned back to look at Jin Seon-yoo lying on the bed. Han Seung-jae didn’t like him meeting Jin Seon-yoo, and if he found out about this situation, he might forbid him from meeting Jin Seon-yoo altogether.
But he couldn’t not answer the phone either. It was rare for Han Seung-jae to call directly. Usually, he gave instructions to Secretary Park. Didn’t Secretary Park handle most things that way?
Seo I-Kyung slowly pressed the answer button. Silence filled the other end of the line.
[……]
This made Seo I-Kyung even check the screen to see if the call had been disconnected. But it hadn’t been.
Seo I-Kyung put the phone to his ear and moved his lips.
“Seung-jae.”
As if in response, Han Seung-jae’s cool, low voice came back.
[Do you want to come down? Or should I come up?]
