I Possessed a Terminally Ill Omega – Episode 186
“Di-Director Han.”
Blood flowing from his head pooled in Seo Dong-hu’s split lip. Because of this, Seo Dong-hu’s words came out broken. Han Seung-jae then released his forceful grip on Seo Dong-hu’s hair.
Min Ra-hyun hurriedly bowed his head, covering his eyes with his palms. However, he couldn’t block out the sound of Han Seung-jae picking up the whiskey bottle from the table and striking Seo Dong-hu’s head. It was incomparable to the sound of glass breaking from earlier. There was a dull sound mixed in, as if something was being crushed.
“Huk…”
Seo Dong-hu exhaled his blocked breath. He then coughed repeatedly.
Min Ra-hyun slowly raised his head while holding his breath. He looked at Seo Dong-hu lying face down on the floor through the gaps between his fingers covering his eyes. Seo Dong-hu was crawling away from Han Seung-jae as if escaping. His movements pushed the carpet. Moreover, Min Seon-woong was in the direction Seo Dong-hu was heading.
Min Ra-hyun unconsciously took a step forward, then stepped back two more steps. Han Seung-jae stepped on Seo Dong-hu’s hand. While gripping the broken whiskey bottle shard, he spoke to Seo Dong-hu.
“I’m not in a good mood right now.”
Han Seung-jae grabbed Seo Dong-hu’s hair and made him look up.
“I have no patience.”
Contrary to his words, Han Seung-jae’s actions showed he had no intention of exercising patience from the start.
Seo Dong-hu, unable to focus properly due to the constantly flowing blood, saw the glass shard approaching and shouted fiercely.
“Min Seon-woong!”
Seo Dong-hu continued to shout as if spitting out the blood pooled in his mouth.
“That fucking bastard did it! He said I-kyung was there, that I could go and meet him!”
Min Ra-hyun’s entire body froze instantly. At the same time, Min Seon-woong, who had been burying his head in his arms, jerked his head up.
“I only said to meet him, who told you to go and do such a thing?”
Seo Dong-hu raised his voice, filled with anger.
“If you hadn’t called me, how would I have known I-kyung was there and gone to find him! Director Han, I really didn’t know I-kyung was there! I only went because Min Seon-woong told me.”
Seo Dong-hu flinched. The glass shard in Han Seung-jae’s hand didn’t stop moving at all.
“Director Han! I’ve told you everything. It’s all true! Ask that fucking bastard again. I’m telling the truth!”
Seo Dong-hu screamed in terror, as if his focus had returned belatedly. However, Han Seung-jae, still with cold eyes, thrust the shard he was holding into Seo Dong-hu’s eye.
“Aaaaaargh!”
Seo Dong-hu’s bizarre screams echoed endlessly in the living room. Min Seon-woong, his face pale at the scene unfolding before him, stood up. He tried to run away but was caught by the strong men and thrown to the floor. Despite this, Han Seung-jae still maintained the same posture. Blood from Seo Dong-hu’s eye flowed along Han Seung-jae’s elegant long fingers.
“Aargh, aaargh!”
Seo Dong-hu writhed his upper body while screaming and sobbing. Han Seung-jae took a step. Seo Dong-hu’s hand, which had been constantly trampled under Han Seung-jae’s foot, slipped out. Seo Dong-hu raised his trembling hand to feel his eye.
Seo Dong-hu’s screams grew even louder.
“My eye! I can’t see!”
“Seung-jae hyung…”
Min Seon-woong’s pitiful voice, sitting on the floor, leaked out as if breaking. He looked at Han Seung-jae approaching him. Han Seung-jae’s refined features seemed unrelated to Seo Dong-hu’s desperate screams and writhing behind him. If he hadn’t seen it with his own eyes, he wouldn’t have believed it.
How could someone do that to a person? Yet Han Seung-jae was excessively composed. As if nothing had happened.
“I really… Dong-hu hyung just wanted to see his younger sibling so badly… I was only trying to help with that. I, I really didn’t know this would happen.”
Min Seon-woong’s words were almost drowned out by Seo Dong-hu’s screams. He turned his head and stared at Min Ra-hyun. Han Seung-jae was not an opponent Min Seon-woong could handle, and it was pain he couldn’t endure.
“You didn’t know?”
Han Seung-jae’s voice was so low it was chilling. It seemed even more eerie because Seo Dong-hu was screaming. Min Ra-hyun struggled to take a step. He stood next to Min Seon-woong, avoiding the debris scattered on the carpet.
“Seung-jae, there seems to be some misunderstanding.”
Han Seung-jae’s gaze slowly moved sideways. Min Ra-hyun involuntarily swallowed. Han Seung-jae’s eyes were somehow different from what he knew normally. However, for Min Seon-woong, who couldn’t stand up because his legs had given out, he added more words.
“I’ll go and bring I-kyung back.”
Since he knew where he was, Min Ra-hyun judged that he could somehow persuade Seo I-kyung and bring him to this house. However, the more he spoke, the colder Han Seung-jae’s eyes became. He stretched out his long arm and grabbed Min Seon-woong’s head, who was sitting at his feet.
“Aah! Hyung!”
Min Seon-woong’s body was forcibly raised. A short scream escaped from his mouth. Han Seung-jae brought his blood-stained hand to Min Seon-woong’s eyes.
“I can persuade him. When I said let’s go see the painting, I-kyung smiled and followed, you said. If I talk to him, I-kyung will change his mind…”
Min Ra-hyun blurted out urgently. He hastily reached out both hands and grabbed Han Seung-jae’s arm.
“He can’t come.”
Han Seung-jae’s fingertips dug into Min Seon-woong’s eyes.
“How can someone lying in a hospital come here? Right?”
Han Seung-jae shifted his gaze and asked Min Seon-woong. However, all that came from Min Seon-woong’s mouth was a plea to save him. Min Ra-hyun pulled Han Seung-jae’s arm he was holding even more strongly.
“Wh-what do you mean? I-kyung is in the hospital?”
“Why are you asking me that?”
“Aaaargh!”
As Min Seon-woong writhed violently, his blood flew onto Min Ra-hyun’s cheek. Min Ra-hyun’s legs gave out and he collapsed weakly.
Min Ra-hyun didn’t know this insensitive side of Han Seung-jae. That’s because Han Seung-jae was different inside the house. Han Seung-jae next to Seo I-kyung never showed this kind of behavior.
Although he was cold, didn’t he always act consistently in the same way? He used polite speech with Seo I-kyung, his gaze when watching Seo I-kyung come out of the studio was like that, and when he watched Seo I-kyung eat something, it was the same. Min Ra-hyun had always been between the two, so he observed Han Seung-jae closer than anyone else. Han Seung-jae was calm and expressionless even when going up to the second floor where Seo I-kyung was.
So Min Ra-hyun vaguely thought that Han Seung-jae wasn’t much different from when he was younger. He was cold then too, and it was hard to know what he was thinking, but it didn’t feel as alien as it does now.
Min Ra-hyun couldn’t imagine that Han Seung-jae’s behavior would change so drastically when Seo I-kyung wasn’t in this house.
Soon after, Min Seon-woong collapsed next to him.
“Seon-woong.”
Min Ra-hyun hurriedly grabbed Min Seon-woong’s shoulder. Han Seung-jae turned his body slightly.
“I must have said it. Why can’t you all understand what I’m saying?”
Min Ra-hyun’s fingers curled in. He looked up, squirming while holding Min Seon-woong’s shoulder. Han Seung-jae looked down calmly and spoke coldly.
“Have you forgotten? The reason I brought you into this house.”
Min Ra-hyun’s breath came out roughly. He traced back to the memory he had buried.
―I-kyung, still alone?
―…
Han Seung-jae neither affirmed nor denied. The more he did so, Min Ra-hyun boldly proposed.
―I’ll take good care of him by his side. You might not care, but people generally feel lonely and desolate when they live alone. He hasn’t been married for long, so I-kyung probably hasn’t adjusted to this house at all, right?
He had intended to take good care of him while staying here. At least when he said those words, it wasn’t a lie. However, wasn’t everything Seo I-kyung enjoyed coming from Han Seung-jae?
He thought that if he hadn’t gone abroad to study, if he had spent more time by Han Seung-jae’s side, maybe the things here would have been his. He resented his father. Pushing him to marry a doctor who wasn’t up to par and seemed endlessly inadequate.
Min Ra-hyun had been confident that he knew more about Han Seung-jae. Since Seo I-kyung hadn’t been married to him for long, it was rather Min Ra-hyun who knew more deeply about Han Seung-jae’s family circumstances.
He wanted to show Seo I-kyung how he could approach Han Seung-jae’s lonely mother more affectionately and share warmth with her. All Seo I-kyung had done was just get pregnant, wasn’t it? If only Seo I-kyung would disappear…
Min Ra-hyun’s lips trembled as his thoughts raced to the extreme. However, that was just a thought. He hadn’t acted on it yet. More precisely, Seo I-kyung hadn’t given him any pretext. No matter how Min Ra-hyun tried to approach, Seo I-kyung rarely allowed any openings.
Because of this, he had even thought that if Seo Dong-hu, who was struggling with money, met Seo I-kyung, there might be even a small problem with Seo I-kyung’s situation. But that was just a thought he had in his head.
“I didn’t do anything.”
