I Became The Villain The Hero Is Obsessed With - C443
Chapter 443: Lily of the Valley (18)
Monday at 12pm, the fateful day had finally dawned.
Han Seo-Eun stood in her suit in front of a mountain range with a nervous expression.
Finally, finally, the day has come, the day she would defeat her life’s enemy, Kim Sun-woo.
And while she was thinking about it, Seo-eun walked by her side.
“…It’s time. Let’s go, Seo-eun, Ms. Stardus.”
“Yes.”
The masked oppa, and the blonde woman in a suit that clung to her body, Stardus were here.
…Normally, she would have been unhappy with Stardus being with Da-in, but this was an emergency.
As such, she was more trusting of Stardus’ presence.
After all, when they’re on the same side and they’re the only reliable superhumans on the planet.
“Well…Apparently going this way at this time of day is supposed to lead to the headquarters…let’s fly.”
With those words, we flew over the mountains and finally, when we reached the clearing in the middle of the mountain, we quickly realized what it meant for the headquarters to be visible from here at ‘this time of day’.
“…Surely, the satellite imagery showed an empty lot.”
“It was.”
But now a large, unidentifiable building stood there, all alone.
An imposing building that stretched out like a giant castle.
It was obviously the headquarters of the HanEun Group, but what was unusual about it…
“…What is this wall…?”
It turns out that the building itself looks like a 3D movie without glasses, with the walls superimposed on the light blue and pink dimensions at the same time.
It looked as if it had popped out of the electronic world, or as if it had been created like a bug in a game.
Han Seo-eun wondered what this could be.
Da-in watched with a serious expression for a moment, and then muttered a sentence.
“…This is the dimensional overlap, I see.”
“Oppa?”
“I think this building is also made with the principle related to that dimension they were talking about. I don’t know the details, but…”
How did they figure it out and create it?
Da-in muttered to himself and looked at the wall.
Han Seo also squinted at the blue and pale pink superimposed castle, trying to figure out what it was…but failed.
Even her brilliant mind could only make a guess based on ‘some information’. There was nothing she could figure out about a phenomenon she’d never seen before.
Except.
Somehow, she did know one thing.
“Ms. Stardus, I want you to hit the wall of this building.”
“The wall?”
“Yes. Hit it with all your power.”
Stardus hesitated for a moment, then unclenched her hand and threw a punch.
-Kaaaaaaaaaah!
It made a tremendous noise….but the wall didn’t even crack.
“…I hit it, but it feels weird, like I’m hitting something that isn’t there.”
Seeing Stardus say that, Da-in immediately said, as if he understood.
“I see. This building doesn’t take any outside impacts, does it?”
“Yeah. I guess…”
“It must be made with dimensional superposition or some such technology.”
After saying that Da-in stiffened and began to mutter.
“…I see. They must have prepared for an invasion from the outside, then they must have prepared for us…”
The moment he said it.
“….”
“…!”
Suddenly, Oppa and Stardus grabbed their earphones.
They paused as if they had received a call, and their faces went blank.
“What’s going on?”
Seo-eun asks anxiously, startled by the scene.
Da-in sighed and turned to Stardus, opening his mouth to speak.
“I knew it…I knew this would happen. Stardus, you should go. Me and Seo-eun will take care of this.”
“…Okay. Haha, these guys are really…Be careful. Han Seo-eun, you too.”
With those last words Stardus suddenly flew away and disappeared.
Han Seo-Eun, puzzled by the scene, turned to Da-in once more.
“No, really, what’s going on?”
At that, Da-in, who had been putting out fires in a hurry, finally looked in her direction, sighed, and said.
“…There are villains from the HanEun Group all over Korea right now. It’s an invasion, and Stardus is rushing to stop them.”
Seo-Eun was even more surprised.
“What? Isn’t that a double-cross or something? They called us here as a decoy, but they really wanted to eat Korea…”
Seo-Eun said that….but somehow, I had a feeling that wasn’t the case.
When Kim Sun-woo called her here, there was a strange mixture of joy and sincerity in his words…It’s like he’s trying to do something here.
And as expected, Da-in shook his head.
“No, it’s a small-scale raid across the country that Stardus will end. More likely, they’re trying to isolate the Stardus from the attack on Headquarters.”
Upon further explanation, Han Seo-eun suddenly understood the situation.
‘It’s not a good idea for Stardus, the Association’s strongest force, to attack this place…So, he ordered the HanEun Group employees to attack in order to distract her?’
…I felt it at the broadcasting station, but the staff was not afraid of death and the doctor treated them like disposables. None of it made sense.
“Maybe they’re going to take care of us here first, and then they’ll try to conquer Korea.”
At Da-in’s blunt words, Han Seo-eun swallowed hard.
‘That’s right. We’re walking right into the enemy’s trap. We had to brace ourselves.’
Looking at Seo-eun who was so determined, Da-in smiled slightly, then shifted his feet forward and said.
“I think we’re ready to go, Seo-eun, and…”
“What?”
“Somehow, I think your role here will be important. I’m counting on you, Seo-Eun. Don’t lose your confidence too much. We’ve practiced a lot, haven’t we?”
“Yes…Yes!”
Encouraged by Da-in’s words, we finally set foot in the enemy’s home base.
“They’re here! Everyone attack!!!”
Sure enough, the assault began.
***
Once inside, the headquarters was a mess.
The rooms had been cleaned up to the point where I couldn’t tell what kind of research was going on here.
Ability users with all the abilities we’ve seen so far jump out and start attacking us.
“Ugh…!”
For some reason they started attacking Seo-eun more than Da-in, probably because Dain had destroyed the branch the other day.
…Sure, she was a bit overwhelmed, but it wasn’t a hard fight.
“Stop falling, Seo-eun.”
-Kaaaaaaaah!
If things got a bit difficult, Da-in wiped them out with his overwhelming telekinetic power.
Even if a few of them rushed in at once, it didn’t matter because they were all swept away with a wave of his hand.
Knowing that, they had been raiding room by room in small groups… but they were useless.
It was so cool, Han Seo-eun was almost wondering if she had to come at all.
…Rather, the flames, the blue lightning and the sonic booms she saw here.
Old friends… The more she saw them using the powers of her old family, the more the memories crawled up from the mire of her mind, and the struggle was greater than the physical effort.
However Da-in was getting more serious by the minute.
“…That’s weird.”
“What is it, oppa?”
“The people here are too weak…”
They went deeper into the headquarters.
Da-in, who was observing the fallen enemies in the room, said with a strange expression.
“…I should say they don’t seem to have the will to live. It’s hard to say, but they’re weak. I was worried that there would be all sorts of traps, and that we’d have to test them with teleportation…but that’s not necessary. If they knew our power, they would’ve prepared this much.”
“That means…”
“One of two things. Either they weren’t powerful enough to prepare…or they saved all their power in the last room.”
And with that we finally arrived at some sort of giant door.
We had been fighting our way deep into the headquarters for three or four hours now.
Unsurprisingly, communication with the outside world has been cut off since the moment we entered.
And, apparently, this huge iron gate seemed to be the last room.
“…Seo-eun, I think Kim Sun-woo is probably here.”
“Yeah. I think so too.”
Seo-eun swallowed hard.
Finally, she would meet Kim Sun-woo.
Dr. Sun-woo, her nightmare, the man who had made her life a living hell when she was young and healthy.
Just thinking about him made her shudder.
Han Seo-Eun took a deep breath and thought.
Think of his evil deeds.
A villain of the worst kind, who wants to conquer Korea by force, the enemy who stole her life and an evil man who sacrifices everyone but himself.
Again, this is a man who must be eliminated no matter what.
She must get her revenge no matter what.
And now, with Da-in, she will definitely be able to defeat him.
With that determination, Han Seo-eun said to Da-in.
“Oppa. I’m ready, let’s go in.”
“Okay. Let’s go, Seo-Eun.”
They walked into the large room and finally, there, standing high above them, was a figure.
“You’re finally here, Han Seo-Eun.”
He was dressed in a white robe, with his long black hair pulled back and smiling behind his glasses.
Behind him was a giant pillar of light, a machine of some sort.
Finally…The final meeting had begun.
