Husband, Spend Some Gold Coins - Chapter 82
Xie Qi asked in disbelief, “Are you sure this is this your father?”
Qin Yizhi replied, “Yeah.”
Xie Qi looked at the photo, then at Qin Yizhi, and remarked, “You two also looked very similar.”
Another compliment slipped out: “Actually, if you think about it, all the top handsome guys seem to have similar features.”
After his praise, he couldn’t hold back and asked, “Were your uncle and father long-lost brothers?”
Qin Yizhi: “…”
Qin Yizhi replied, “They were somewhat similar, but not that much.”
Qin Yizhi tried to take back the phone, but Xie Qi held onto it tightly. “Is this your childhood picture? You used to be so beautiful, like a doll.”
Qin Yizhi looked down at him and asked, “Didn’t you already know?”
“…” Xie Qi replied dryly, “Did you know that mother showed it to me?”
Qin Yizhi said, “Yeah.”
Xie Qi: “…”
Xie Qi’s eyes fell on the photo on the screen again. He had never seen this photo before; Yao Wenzhu had only sent him a picture of Qin Yizhi alone. Although there were photos of him smiling, none were as bright as this one. His dark eyes looked far less cold and deep than they were now, instead shining like stars. At first glance, he seemed like a boy who had grown up in a loving environment.
Xie Qi had questions, but he sensed this wasn’t a topic to ask about casually, so he said nonchalantly, “Can you send me this photo?”
Qin Yizhi answered simply, “No.”
Xie Qi asked, “Why not?”
Qin Yizhi paused and then replied, “Don’t you have plenty?”
Xie Qi smiled awkwardly, “I didn’t save any back then. Why would I have saved your photo at the time?”
Qin Yizhi replied, “Then why do you want it now?”
Xie Qi: “…”
Feeling a bit embarrassed, he said, “Forget it if you won’t send it. I don’t really need it, and you’re really stingy, even with photos.”
With that, he handed the phone back to Qin Yizhi.
Qin Yizhi took the phone as if nothing had happened.
Then, he led Xie Qi to chat with others. At this point, Qin Yizhi wore a slight smile, readily sharing it with those around him.
Xie Qi felt bored, and when a waiter passed by with red wine, he reached out to stop him, took a glass, and took a sip. The taste was nice and acceptable, so he drank a few more sips.
Qin Yizhi, tall as he was, couldn’t keep an eye on Xie Qi’s every move. By the time he noticed, the red wine in Xie Qi’s hand was nearly empty. Xie Qi placed the empty glass on the waiter’s tray and picked up another.
Qin Yizhi: “…”
He excused himself from the group with a soft “Excuse me.”
He led Xie Qi to sit on a nearby sofa, saying, “This wine is strong. If you’re bored, you can drink juice.”
Xie Qi replied with a smirk, “I’m an adult; I can drink.”
Qin Yizhi: “…”
Looking around, he called a waiter over and asked kindly, “Where’s the lounge?”
The waiter, noticing the faint flush on Xie Qi’s cheeks, pointed in a direction.
Qin Yizhi took hold of Xie Qi’s arm and said, “Go to the lounge and rest. I’ll come get you later.”
Xie Qi protested, “No, I’m not drunk.”
Qin Yizhi looked into his eyes and said softly, “Drunk people always say they’re not drunk.”
Xie Qi looked wounded, saying, “I’m really not drunk. How could one glass of red wine get me drunk? Are you kidding?”
Being so close, Qin Yizhi could smell the faint scent of red wine as Xie Qi spoke. “I’m not kidding; this wine has a strong kick. You may not feel it now, but you will when it sets in.”
Xie Qi argued, “It’s not that bad. I’m fine. Don’t worry. I won’t rest—what if some boss makes a mistake and ends up in my bed?”
Qin Yizhi: “…”
Qin Yizhi said, “Then you sit here; I will come to take you back later.”
Xie Qi replied, “Okay.”
Qin Yizhi reached out and touched Xie Qi’s face, saying softly, “Don’t let me worry.”
He only touched it once, then straightened up and told the waiter next to him, “Please take care of him here.”
The waiter quickly responded, and Qin Yizhi then walked away.
Xie Qi looked around and saw Yao Wenzhu. She was speaking elegantly to the ladies, while Qin Yizhi’s uncle didn’t talk to anyone. He simply leaned against the wall, sipping from a wine glass.
Even if someone approached him, he would politely decline, and eventually, no one else tried.
It seemed that Xie Qi had been looking at him for too long, as Yao Xingchen noticed him. He paused momentarily, then strode in Xie Qi’s direction.
Xie Qi immediately felt nervous; he pressed his thighs together and straightened his back.
Yao Xingchen quickly walked over and sat down not far from him.
Xie Qi immediately greeted him politely, “Uncle.”
Yao Xingchen said, “I was still abroad when you and Yizhi got married and couldn’t come back. I’m sorry.”
Xie Qi replied, “Ah? It’s okay, uncle.”
He looked at Yao Xingchen. His facial features were indeed somewhat similar to Qin Yizhi’s, and the bridge of his nose was equally straight.
Yao Xingchen asked, “Are you studying at Z University now?”
Xie Qi thought to himself, ‘If you know this, why ask? Isn’t this asking knowingly?’ He replied obediently, “Yes, I just entered school not long ago.”
Yao Xingchen continued, “Is Yizhi living with you outside school?”
Xie Qi replied, “…Yes, we’re living together.”
He couldn’t help thinking, ‘Are you here to ridicule me? Yizhi and I are not compatible at all, and a mere student like me trying to ‘kidnap’ the Qin family’s heir…’
