Inside the box was a thick stack of coupons, all for discounts at Luo Yu’s various businesses, totaling 300 Shields for every 5 spent.
Sampo: “…”
His mouth twitched as he forced a smile and closed the box. He then looked at Luo Yu. “Uh… Lord Luo Yu, did you perhaps grab the wrong box?”
“This is the gift box I specially prepared for my friends. The contents are random. Looks like your luck isn’t great today,” Luo Yu said calmly, raising an eyebrow.
Sampo’s smile stiffened further, realizing there was no use arguing. He had to accept it.
After a while, Sampo suddenly sighed, speaking with a tired and sorrowful tone, “Ah, the Silvermane Guards are getting stricter with their inspections. Business is tough, transporting so much is costly and exhausting.”
“Our business prices need to increase. Don’t blame old Sampo, but at this rate, I can’t even break even.” Sampo sighed theatrically, finally revealing his true intentions.
“Hm…” Luo Yu pondered before nodding. “I see. That does seem inappropriate. We should increase the prices.”
He sighed sympathetically. “I understand because I’m in the same boat. Business has been difficult recently. I’ve lost a lot of deals, and funds are tight. I was just going to ask you for a favor, old friend.”
“Let’s cut the agreed bonus for this month. Once business picks up, I’ll make it up to you.”
Sampo’s smile froze again. “Uh… that doesn’t seem right, Lord Luo Yu. Surely, you’re joking. With your vast empire, how could you be concerned about such small amounts?”
Luo Yu shook his head, sighing wearily. “My businesses have been running at a loss, and I still need to donate here. The pressure is immense. Old friend, I’ll double the bonus once I recover the funds, but for now, let’s cut it by half.”
