Haunted Duke’s Daughter - C126
C126
L–What is this thing you’ve been talking about? I’m curious.
S–Well, I think I understand their reaction.
Sakura says so, and Lilia tilts her head inwardly.
S–Lilia, have you ever worked to benefit the commoners before?
L–That’s…….No, I haven’t.
I had never done anything for a commoner before, although I helped Ray before I knew who he was, but I had always thought that he was a nobleman.
S–It is a surprise to both of them that Lilia is coming to them like this to ask them to do this for the commoners.
L–Maybe I shouldn’t have done it.
I asked, feeling a little uneasy. Sakura laughed happily and continued,
S–Maybe it’s a little problematic for an aristocrat, but that’s about it. It’s not like you’re being humble to the commoners.
“Besides,” Sakura added in a whisper.
S–The more allies we have, the better.
L–Allies?
S–I’m talking about this side.
Lilia raises her eyebrows dubiously, but quickly shakes her head and decides to forget about it. She made a small bow to the prince and Chris, who were looking at her.
“Well then, I look forward to working with you.”
After confirming that both of them nodded in return, Lilia excused herself and left the room.
・・・・・
After Lilia left the prince and Chris stared at the door with a mysterious look on their faces.
“What do you think?”
Chris nodded and answered the prince’s question.
“I was a little surprised, but I think it’s a good trend. At least, much more so than when she was intimidating everyone around her.”
The prince nodded in agreement and sipped his tea.
“People can change that much…….I must learn from her.”
“Yes……..”
At the prince’s murmur, Chris lifted the corners of her mouth a bit happily.
・・・・・
During the week Lilia went on as usual. The only difference from before is that she no longer went to the library. Apparently, on weekdays, Ray helps Liana and her family.
Since she no longer had to go, she went straight back to her room after school.
It was a weekend study day, and she was taking a break after breakfast when a maid, who seemed to be the prince’s messenger, came to her room. She handed her dozens of sheets of paper and said they were the answers to the questions she gave the prince.
S–I’m surprised they answered.
Lilia’s movement suddenly stopped. She was just about to pull out a random piece to take a look at it. Lilia’s face contorted in embarrassment, and she turned it over and put it on the table.
S–I’ve been thinking about something that’s very new to me.
L–What is it?
S–Prince and Chris handed them out, right? That’s as much of a veto as Lilia handing them out.
L–You’re right……..
Why didn’t I notice this until now? Aside from Chris, if the prince handed them out, they have to answer the questions. Even if Glen gave them, it is a well-known fact that Glen is the prince’s bodyguard and if Chris gave them it was almost the same as the prince giving them. In fact, it was probably more coercive than Lilia’s handing them out.
Lilia shook her head. It was none of her business.
S–So, what are you doing today?
L–Shall we study?
Lilia answered, and she could see that Sakura’s mood had improved. Sakura said in a happy voice.
S–Okay, I’m here! Paper out! Give me a pen! I’m going for it!
Thinking how simple it was, I went to my bedroom and took out my study materials. I was about to sit down and listen to Sakura’s lecture when
“Miss Lilia, you have a visitor.”
Sakura sighed ruefully.
“It’s Lady Tina.”
“Tina? Bring her in.”
“Yes.”
When she passed by Alisa and opened the door, Tina was standing there with an apologetic look on her face.
“Good morning, Lilia……..Do you mind teaching me again?”
Tina held a variety of educational materials in her hand. Lilia was stunned for a while, but then she smiled and nodded.
The next day when I went to the library room after breakfast, Ray, Liana and the others were already there. When I opened the door, it was quiet for a moment, but soon a cheerful voice echoed through the room.
“Good morning Aldis-senpai!”
Liana’s voice is the most audible. Lilia frowned and Liana bowed her head apologetically.
“It’s good that you are in good spirits.”
Lilia puts dozens of sheets of paper on the table. They didn’t know what kind of paper it was for a moment, probably because of the quantity. Leaving the three of them stunned, Tania gently reached out her hand. Liana immediately looked at it as well.
“Is this the answer to the questions I gave you the other day……? Could it possibly be that all of these are?
When Lilia nodded, everyone was surprised, including Ray.
“We would not have been able to meet His Highness…….Thank you so much Liliane-sama.”
Amos said and the four of them bowed their heads, even Ray bowed with them.
“So, what are you going to do after this?”
She was a little embarrassed and her cheeks started to heat up. Lilia turned her face away and Liana said.
“I’ll look it over today and make a plan tomorrow and the day after. After that, I’ll do a clean copy.”
“Tell me when it’s done. I’ll ask His Highness to check it just to be sure.”
“Yes, please!”
Lilia smiled with satisfaction at Liana and the others. After this, it was the job of the four of them, and there would be no more room for Lilia.
