Haunted Duke’s Daughter - C125
C125
Looking at Liana, Lilia was inwardly confused.
S–This is the only girl who reacts so differently that I’m having trouble dealing with it…….
L–It seems like she really appreciates the fact that I helped Ray before. I suspect she just thinks we’re good friends from our current exchange.
S–Do you realize that Ray is a prince?
Lilia shook her head, “I know, I know,” and stood up.
“We rent this place every week on our days off.”
So that means I have until next week to ask. Nodding to Amos who answered, Lilia turned and left.
“Ray, I don’t know how it happened, but if you’re going to cooperate, make sure you do it right and don’t neglect your studies.”
He nodded his head, smiling wryly and said, “Of course.”
“If there is anything else you need, just let me know. I’ll help you a little.”
When she said this to the four of them for the last time, they replied in cheerful voices, “Yes.” Lilia nodded in satisfaction and opened the door.
“We can never count on rumors, can we……?”
Lilia thought she heard Elk muttering something like that, but she didn’t care and closed the door.
S—We have come to the room of His Highness the Prince. The soldier guarding the room is looking at Lilia with frightened eyes. Look at this last boss, in front of Lilia, the soldier is like a baby.
L–You’ve got some nerve.
S–Sorry, I’m just kidding.
Lilia gave a small sigh and looked up, the two soldiers gasped. Even if you are the prince’s bodyguard, you should be a little more firm.
S–One word from Lilia and the Duke Aldis might move, it’s normal for them to be afraid.
I wonder if that’s how it is. Lilia smiled at the two soldiers and blithely breathed a sigh of relief. I find that behavior disrespectful, but I suppose I shouldn’t worry about it now.
“Is His Highness present?”
“Yes, His Highness is here. Could you wait a moment, please?”
The soldier knocked on the door and a maid appeared. When the soldier tells her what is going on, the maid’s gaze turns to Lilia. Her eyes look a little frightened. When Lilia tilted her head, for some reason, this maid also breathed a sigh of relief.
S–The last time you were so intense.
L–Oh……I see.
The maid disappears behind the door, then returns a moment later and opens the door. The maid urged me to enter the room. The prince and Chris were sitting facing each other, looking at me.
“What a rare thing for you to come to visit me. You want something?”
“Yes, I have a favor to ask you.”
When Lilia said this, the prince seemed a little surprised. She then looked at Chris, and then Chris asked her.
“I think I should leave the room…….”
“I don’t mind,” Lilia said.
“What?”
Chris raised his eyebrows in suspicion. Lilia took out the paper she had received from Liana and put it on the table.
“What is this?”
The prince looks into it and begins to read and Chris does the same. Meanwhile, a chair and tea were prepared for Lilia.
“Thank you.”
The maid stopped moving for a moment and immediately bowed her head vigorously. Then she left as if in a hurry. I wondered if I had said something to offend her.
“Lilia, please don’t bully my maid.”
Lilia raised her eyebrows at the prince’s voice and looked at him but the prince was smiling thinly. He must have known what she was talking about. Lilia gave a small sigh and sat down in her chair.
“So, what is this?”
The prince asked but Lilia sipped her tea first.
“Oh, it’s delicious. Not as good as Alisa’s, though.”
“You don’t have to brag about your maid.”
“I just met with Ray a few minutes ago and he was with a group of kids who are trying to make something called a wall newspaper. It seems that they are cooperating with each other, so I thought I would help a little. They asked me to come and ask you on their behalf, who can’t easily meet with His Highness.”
“Oh…….Are they nobles?”
“No, they are commoners.”
The prince and Chris freeze. They looked at Lilia as if they saw something unbelievable. Lilia was astonished because she didn’t like the way they looked at her and the prince and Chris coughed to cover it up.
“I’ve read through the whole thing,” she said, “and there’s a lot of stuff about Claviles. It’s good to be curious about our friendly neighbors.”
“Would you care to answer?”
The prince put his hand to his chin and began to think but soon, he nodded his head and said,
“I’ll write the answer on another piece of paper by tomorrow. Is that okay with you?”
“Thank you, Your Highness. Chris, can you do the same?”
“Is it not just His Highness?”
I nodded back at Chris who said unexpectedly.
“I’m thinking of going around to the rooms of the other senior aristocrats after this.”
“Don’t do that.”
“May I ask why?”
Lilia’s eyes narrowed. The prince became reluctant, as if enduring a headache, sighed, and said,
“Liliane, if you go, the other party will have no right of veto.”
“Well, that’s mind-boggling, isn’t it?……Though you may be right.”
Liliane said and the prince and Chris looked at each other again but they quickly mended their expressions and Chris said.
“Dear Liliane, I’ll ask the ladies to do it for me.”
“I’ll ask Glenn to do the men’s side. What do you think?”
There was no particular reason to refuse. I asked Sakura just to be sure, and she gave a short answer saying that she thought it would be a good idea.
“They are planning to get together again next week, so it will be fine until then.”
“I understand. I’ll try to gather them by then. But still……”
The prince stared at Lilia with a serious look.
