Chapter 7: The Vast World, the Tiny You and I
The world is vast; vast enough to hold the starry sky, the universe, and the Milky Way. Yet, the world is also tiny; in this tiny world, there’s you, and there’s me.
Though we may not know what lies beyond that mountain, or across that sea, we still dare to challenge, to explore, to strive. And we will declare to this world: “I have deeply loved this world.”
Even though life will inevitably end, who knows? Perhaps on the other side of that end lies another world beyond this one.
No dream is too big, no dream is too small. Don’t fear ridicule or indifference!
Many years from now, when you look back on the path you’ve traveled, even if there’s no glory to be found, you can still say to yourself: “I didn’t do too badly.” Be grateful for your persistence all these years, and for the people you’ve met along the way.
No matter how others treat you, it shouldn’t dictate how you live your life. There’s a saying that goes: If a dog bites you, do you bite back?
It’s not about blaming anyone. It’s simply hard to explain your struggles to someone who hasn’t experienced them. So why bother? Complaining to someone won’t lessen your pain and sorrow; it will only amplify your inner suffering. So why say anything at all?
The world is a vast universe, and each person is their own little universe within it. Be tolerant of others, and be tolerant of yourself. Treat others with kindness, and treat yourself with kindness too.
Flowers bloom, then wither, only to bloom again, never complaining about nature’s cycle. In full bloom, they burst forth in a riot of color. In their decline, they patiently await their next vibrant display.
Different seasons bring different flowers, and each person experiences their own unique springtime in life.
As the saying goes, “One minute on stage takes ten years of practice off stage.” Brilliance requires quiet dedication, tireless effort, and patient waiting.
Don’t rush. Pursue your dreams with unwavering determination. The spring breeze will arrive, and the flowers will blossom. Bitterness will eventually give way to sweetness.
The Creator shaped this world; now it’s your turn to shape your future and create your own miracles.
Remember, we don’t grow up overnight. We must weather storms, endure hardships, and be refined by time. All of these experiences contribute to our growth.
Success doesn’t come easily or quickly. It demands consistent effort and unwavering dedication. Those who rely solely on luck won’t stay fortunate forever. True luck is the reward earned through countless hours of hard work, not something attained through idle waiting.
The people you encounter in life will shape you. Some will uplift and inspire you, others will challenge and push you to be better. Each connection is a thread in the tapestry of fate, woven with opportunities for love and growth. After all, you’ve met in this lifetime; who knows if you’ll meet again in the next?
There may be a thousand interpretations of Hamlet, but in this vast world, there’s only one you. You are unique, and you should believe in yourself. Your very existence is a miracle. So why not let that miracle continue to unfold?
Guoguo: Are you there?
Meng Jinfei: Yes, what’s up? Missing me?
Guoguo: I have a question for you.
Meng Jinfei: Go ahead.
Guoguo: Online dating is so common these days. What do you think about it?
Meng Jinfei: If it’s online dating, I could only accept it if it were with you. If it’s you, I’d consider it.
Guoguo: It’s not me. A good friend of mine seems to be in an online relationship.
Meng Jinfei: Don’t worry too much. When it comes to matters of the heart, it takes time and real-life interaction to truly understand someone.
Guoguo: Hmm, just curious.
Meng Jinfei: Hmm.
