The Power Of [Translucent Lock]

I made sure to buy a potion to cure status ailments yesterday.

Having finished adjusting my skill distribution and stats,

I arrived at the Powder Dungeon with Silphy and Dine.

A lot happened yesterday… or rather, just by using it once, [Translucent Lock] plunged me deep into the realm of a full-blown criminal, but the ability itself is pretty impressive.

First off, this [Translucent Lock] lets me see quite far ahead. Specifically, it turns buildings and people transparent up to a distance where I can clearly see them, allowing me to see what’s beyond.

If I focus hard enough, I can even make out fine details.

For example, when I was focusing, a dog entered my field of view, and I could see its muscle fibers, internal organs, and even inside its blood vessels.

Probably, not just that, but based on the flow of [Lock-On] skills so far, I should be able to make long-range attacks hit with certainty.

If that’s the case, then [Magic Arrow] should be able to pass through walls or weapons unless they’re imbued with magic, allowing for even more one-sided attacks than before.

Well, it’s unfortunate that it doesn’t pass through people, but that’s fine.

Just with this, [Translucent Lock] is pretty useful.

It would be perfect if I could use [Multiple Lock-On] and [Weakness Lock] simultaneously…

“Hey, Kaede~? What are you doing? Let’s go already~”

“Hm? Ah, sorry. I was just lost in thought.”

…Well, I can test that out bit by bit.

With that thought, I gathered my thoughts and followed Silphy with Dine.

And when I caught up with Silphy, she and Dine perched on my shoulders.

After confirming this, I began walking again, carefully watching out for both the roots on the ground and the Powder Butterflies in the air.

“Kaede-san, what’s the plan for today?”

“Hm… let’s see. Like I said yesterday, I’ll have Silphy explore while Dine and I stay close.

And I’ll be testing my new ability.”

“Oh, the one Kaede mentioned yesterday!”

“Yeah, exactly. Well, since it’s an experiment, I’ll be doing it while guarding Silphy.”

“Hm… Ah, Kaede, stop around here for a bit.”

I stopped my steps at Silphy’s voice.

Then, I carefully surveyed the area while keeping an eye on the Powder Butterflies.

…Alright. From what I can tell, there don’t seem to be any monsters around.

“Okay, let’s start around here~”

Silphy floated up from my shoulder and flew to a spot a little farther away.

“Then I’ll take out any Powder Butterflies that come close as part of my experiment. Dine, could you stay near Silphy?”

“Understood.”

“Hey, hey, can I start now~?”

“Yeah, go ahead.”

“I’m ready too.”

“Alright then, here I go~”

With those words, Silphy spread her arms, generating the wind she uses for exploration.

Indeed, compared to when we were in the closed space of the massive dungeon, Silphy now unleashed a much stronger wind.

With this much wind, it didn’t come towards me, probably because she was careful yesterday, but it must have spread quite a bit to other areas…

“Okay, then… [Translucent Lock]”

As I pulled out the Dragon Tree Bow, I used [Translucent Lock] to survey the surroundings.

The trees that had been blocking my view until now suddenly disappeared, making my vision as clear as if the trees were never there.

And I could see everything in a circular area around me up to the distance I could see.

Among that, I noticed several Powder Butterflies approaching, likely reacting to’s wind.

When I focused on one of them, my vision was forcibly drawn to it, just like when using the [Lock-On] skill.

I see, so the [Lock-On] effect works properly…

“Alright then, [Magic Arrow].”

I created a transparent arrow with a simple [Magic Arrow] and nocked it on the Dragon Tree Bow.

“Phew… Hah!”

Exhaling a short breath along with the arrow, I aimed at the head of the Powder Butterfly and released it.

The arrow flew straight and pierced through the Powder Butterfly’s body, taking its life.

Nice, that went well.

Next, I’ll check if I can use [Multiple Lock-On] simultaneously.

“[Multiple Lock-On]”

I immediately used [Multiple Lock-On] to target the remaining Powder Butterflies.

…It’s probably working… right?

“Well, I’ll know if it worked once I try it… [Magic Arrow: Full Burst].”

The targets I saw with [Multiple Lock-On]… were a total of 13.

Considering I took down one with a single hit earlier, I’ll use 30 MP per target…

I spent 390 MP to create transparent arrows and nocked them on the Dragon Tree Bow.

…Looking back, I used quite a bit of MP yesterday…

“…Hah!”

Just like before, I shot the arrows, and as before, the released arrows simultaneously pierced through the 13 Powder Butterflies.

And, as expected, being able to target spots that were hidden before because I can see through them now is really convenient.

…I wonder if this works on the boss room door too…?
