Devouring Angels with Demon’s Sword - Chapter 29
“Karatake-wari Ichiban, Hidari Kiriage Rokuban!”
I swept down both arms wielding swords in a powerful strike, then sliced diagonally at the torso with the returning blade.
The clean, straight cut exposed the inner section of the four-armed monster—the Archangel.
While catching that scene out of the corner of my eye, I didn’t stop my movements and immediately shifted to attack the next target. My chaining of attacks had become significantly smoother.
“Hidari Nagi Nanaban, Flying Slash Spada!”
Riding the momentum of swinging my devil sword, I changed my body’s orientation and released azure flame energy with the sweeping motion. I cleaved through three lower angels standing in a line.
“────”
I took a deep step forward and dashed.
After activating the devil sword art, my body enhancement’s output had decreased. To compensate for that drop, I concentrated my resources into my lower limbs and head to maintain my leg strength and dynamic visual acuity.
—Hurry.
It was still far to the location where the presence of seven people had gathered. According to my echolocation mapping, I needed to traverse through five more chambers.
“Tch… Why was I the only one sent flying to a distant spot…!!”
I grumbled, but the reason was clear. It was because I was a devil swordsman. More specifically, it was likely due to the maximum output of my body enhancement at the moment the *Detached Cell* was formed.
Probably, during the swallowing, the energies repelled each other, causing me to be half-heartedly ejected.
I really messed up. I should have restrained my output instead.
That said, there was no way to know the correct choice at that moment in that place.
In other words, I was just engaging in hindsight. Regretting it now wouldn’t change a thing.
“Move it…!”
At least the good fortune was that the presence I felt was currently stationary and hadn’t started moving. If they had panicked and scattered, I would have been in serious trouble.
However, I couldn’t tell how long this opportunity would last. The situation was a race against time. I quickened my pace.
I took down two Archangels and dashed through a chamber.
I scattered six lower angels and pushed through another wide space.
I passed through empty, vacuous chambers.
And then—
“Flying Slash Spadaaa!”
I unleashed a torrent of azure flame energy, feeling my stamina drain away. The crescent-shaped blade shot toward a marionette without limbs, soaring through the air on translucent wings—the Principalities.
〈Maaaa〉
The azure-silver *Flying Slash Spada* cleaved through the light bullets emitted from its flickering wings, slicing through the angel that fired them.
Enduring a dizziness akin to anemia, I once again sprinted through the chamber.
Along the way, my devil sword absorbed the Principalities, now transformed into particles of light, restoring my stamina. However, the exhaustion from using the silver flames outweighed the recovery, leaving me with a lingering fatigue.
“Ha… ha…”
Gasping for breath, I steeled my weakening legs and continued to run.
If I could get through this, the next stop would be my destination.
With a glimpse of the temporary turning point coming into view, I felt a slight sense of relief.
…….
But the moment I entered the final chamber, that relief was fleetingly blown away.
Because—
〈Ma〉
〈Maa──〉
〈Maaaaaaaa〉
Three Principalities, lined up and waiting for me, were standing in my way.
