Desperate Forensic Doctor - Chapter 5 - Special Criminal Division

5:30pm, Bin Yuan City Bureau.

Chief Ding called the two of them to the Chief’s office and poured them tea himself.

Shen Junci and Gu Yanchen listened on the sidelines. What Chief Ding said was also the current status of the criminal investigation department. 

Now that the Internet is extremely developed, some cases will be exposed on the Internet as soon as they happen. 

Instead, police announcements have to run behind the media. 

While people were retweeting and watching, some people were also voicing their grievances on the Internet, and netizens began to protest. 

Several parties insist on their own opinions, and if they are not handled properly, it will affect public opinion. 

In such a situation, whether the case can be solved quickly and correctly will affect the credibility of the police.

So I wanted to refer to this model and set up a team called the Special Criminal Division, which is actually a small task force. Although it is small, it has all the internal departments needed. Chief Ding said this and sat up straight: “So, I set up the Special Criminal Division against all opinions, just to break down the barriers between various departments. After a criminal case occurs, various factors can be eliminated, and we can investigate to the end. Whether it is a major case or a minor one, we must quickly find out the whole truth, verify it accurately, and then make it known to the public quickly.”

Gu Yanchen and Shen Junci nodded, understanding Chief Ding’s purpose of establishing this department. 

Chief Ding smiled bitterly when he said this: “But this is just my idea. It is very difficult to implement it. This team does not accept ordinary criminal cases. When there are no cases, it will be very idle. Once there is a case, it requires high-intensity work, 24 hours a day without sleep. It is also difficult for me to get the two of you to come over.”

This kind of work was extremely demanding and very dangerous. If they didn’t have diamonds, they wouldn’t be able to do porcelain work. 

Having said that, Chief Ding looked at Gu Yanchen and said, “I happened to see your resume, Captain Gu. Although you have been doing logistics work for a period of time before, I think you have excellent criminal investigation skills and are a rare good policeman. You should only do auxiliary work on the second line. The position I gave you this time has a high level, and the authority you strive for is also high. The Special Criminal Division is structured on several criminal police teams. You can dispatch the police forces of several teams to coordinate your investigation.”

Gu Yanchen said: “Okay.”

After explaining everything, Chief Ding told them about the work arrangements. 

Next, some details such as staffing and equipment configuration were introduced. 

The entire meeting was basically discussed between Gu Yanchen and Chief Ding, with Shen Junci listening on the sidelines. 

At the end of the day, Chief Ding felt a little sorry. Although today’s meeting was mainly for Gu Yanchen, Shen Junci was also very important. 

If forensic medicine and criminal investigation teams were not of the same mind, then the criminal police alone would be useless in many things. 

Chief Ding felt that Shen Junci had been kept waiting for a long time, and he was afraid that he would have opinions, so he asked him directly: “Dr Shen, as the resident forensic doctor of the Special Criminal Division, do you have any opinions?”

Chief Ding laughed and said, “It’s okay. I’m satisfied to be able to recruit a dedicated forensic doctor to accompany the team. If there’s anything you can’t solve at work, I’ve already mentioned to Chief Lu beforehand, you can always look for him.”

The meeting ended and the two went downstairs. 

One went to Building 3 of the Forensic Medicine Department, and the other went to Building 1 of the Criminal Investigation Team. 

Shen Junci returned to the office. Seeing that he had been away for the meeting for a long time, Qi Yian stood up and asked, “Mentor, was there anything special?”

Shen Junci talked to him about the key points, and then said: “There will be a meeting tomorrow morning to get to know our new colleagues.”

Shen Junci said, “I live in Meijing Garden.”

Shen Junci got into the car and sat in the passenger seat. 

Gu Yanchen started the car and the car quickly drove out of the city bureau gate.

Shen Junci turned his eyes and said modestly: “My grades in college were average, but I later accumulated some work experience.”

When the car arrived at the community of Meijing Garden, Shen Junci said, “Just drop me off at the gate of the courtyard.”

Gu Yanchen said, “It doesn’t matter. What’s your building number?”

“Number 10.” After Shen Junci said this, Gu Yanchen drove straight in without any intention of stopping. When he got downstairs, he skillfully found a parking space and parked the car. 

Shen Junci waved his hand quickly: “It’s really enough to send me here.”

Unexpectedly, Gu Yanchen pointed upstairs: “I live here too.”

This was too much of a coincidence. Shen Junci looked at him as if he didn’t believe it. 

Gu Yanchen added another sentence: “I live in 501.”

Shen Junci happened to live in 502. He was surprised and said suddenly: “Are you the landlord who even said he was unavailable when signing the contract and left all the power to the agency?”

Gu Yanchen nodded: “It should be me.” Then he said to Shen Junci, who was still stunned, “If you find it troublesome to walk or take a taxi, you can always take my car.”

The two of them walked upstairs, and Shen Junci opened the door. Gu Yanchen didn’t rush to press the fingerprint lock. He suddenly turned around and asked Shen Junci: “By the way, do you know Chief Lin?”

Shen Junci’s hand holding the key paused: “Which one?” He paused and then said, “It seems that there is no leader named Lin in the city bureau?”

Gu Yanchen explained: “It’s the former leader of the Chief Ding, Lin Xianglan.”
