Contract Marriage with Memory Loss on Top - Chapter 69
Yeon-woo had to suppress his lingering worries while continuously putting the food in front of him into his mouth. Although entry control was thoroughly carried out for spouse-accompanied events like this one, he wasn’t sure about other events. He had tried to avoid revealing his face as much as possible since the marriage life wouldn’t continue forever, but given the circumstances, it seemed difficult.
‘Ah, I can ask them to blur my face later.’
Unless he was attending a recorded broadcast or a live-streamed program, requesting his face to be blurred was a way. If he asked Ki-won, it would likely be taken into consideration when articles were reported. Once he reached the conclusion that it wasn’t something to worry too much about, he felt somewhat relieved. Finishing his thought, Yeon-woo put down his fork as he completed his meal.
“Are you done eating?”
Since there was still a lot of food left for Yeon-woo’s portion, Ki-won asked the question and added that he should eat more.
“I ate breakfast late, so I got full quickly.”
Although it was a waste to not eat the remaining dishes, it was better to give up on being greedy than forcing himself to eat and getting sick. When Yeon-woo shook his head, saying it was fine, Ki-won nodded as if he understood.
“Are we going straight home?”
Since Ki-won had only worked in the morning and returned, Yeon-woo expected that he wouldn’t have any schedules in the afternoon. Asking in a slightly expectant tone as he was disappointed to just go back like this, Ki-won immediately answered as if he had a place in mind.
“I think it would be good to stop by the department store and get clothes tailored.”
“To buy clothes for you, hyung?”
From what Yeon-woo remembered, Ki-won’s dressing room was packed. When he peeked before, there were lots of products with the tags still attached, so he was curious about what he was trying to buy again. Could it be that some new items he liked came out? Before he could speculate, Yeon-woo saw Ki-won shaking his head.
“It’s for Mr. Seo Yeon-woo’s suit. If you’re going to attend the event, you’ll have to match the dress code, but it seems you don’t have suitable clothes.”
“Ah… that’s true, I rarely had occasions to wear suits.”
Yeon-woo recalled the dress code written on the invitation. There were no big restrictions, but it said to come in a formal attire. It seemed to be intended to emphasize that it was a business meeting. Then nothing would be as safe as a suit. Understanding Ki-won’s point, Yeon-woo added a sound of agreement.
“Do you have any preferred brands?”
Yeon-woo couldn’t give a definite answer to Ki-won’s question and just shook his head. He had no interest in clothes shopping and tended to wear whatever he was given, so there was no way he had a preferred brand. At Yeon-woo’s awkward smile, Ki-won opened his mouth as if he understood.
“I’ve contacted the manager in charge. Let’s take our time and choose in the VIP shopping room.”
“VIP shopping room…?”
He thought they would shop around the department store as usual, but the scale was bigger than expected. Yeon-woo tried to imagine the place he had never been to and felt burdened. Who would have thought he would directly enter a space he had only seen in dramas?
“Do you dislike it?”
“It’s not that I dislike it, I’m just not used to it… but you’d be tired walking around, hyung.”
Although his tone and actions seemed no different from usual on the outside, he had forgotten for a moment that the other person was a patient. Waving his hand, Yeon-woo pushed back his chair, saying they should get going. Ki-won, noticing Yeon-woo’s signal, also picked up the jacket he had hung on the chair next to him.

Was it because they had to head to the VIP room instead of shopping at the store like ordinary people? As they arrived at the department store, the atmosphere around them was unusually tense, unlike usual. Valet staff wearing in-ear radios were seen communicating with each other and approaching, and their conversation leaked through the half-open car window.
– Director Kwon’s vehicle has entered.
The window had black tinting film attached, so the inside shouldn’t have been visible, but the employees noticed it like ghosts. Did they memorize the types and numbers of VIP vehicles? He could only think it was amazing.
“Welcome, I’m manager Park Su-eun who will be assisting you today.”
As soon as Ki-won and Yeon-woo exited through the open car door, Manager Park spoke softly, mixed among the valet staff. Manager Park, neatly dressed from head to toe, had a different atmosphere as someone who dealt with VIPs.
“Please guide us directly to the room.”
Ki-won handed the car keys to the approaching valet staff and gestured to Manager Park. Then, Manager Park bowed her head once more and led the way, motioning for them to follow.
The entrance leading to the VIP room was clearly differentiated from the general lounge. Following Manager Park’s guidance, the two headed to an area where people’s access was restricted. Then, using the elevator inside, they moved to the top floor.
The VIP lounge where the two arrived had no other customers besides the staff. The department store had different lounges accessible based on customer ratings, and Kwon Ki-won seemed to belong to the upper tier even among VIPs. Although it was obvious, Yeon-woo let out a small exclamation to himself.
“Do you have any preferred types of beverages?”
As they entered a room completely isolated from the surroundings, Manager Park spoke in a calm tone. Since her gaze was directed at him, not Ki-won, Yeon-woo had to stammer and rack his brain.
“Ah, just anything is fine, thank you.”
“Understood.”
The manager called a staff member who was already on standby and instructed them to bring out coffee and herbal tea. Listening to the conversation, the coffee was for Ki-won and the herbal tea was for Yeon-woo.
Yeon-woo took a brief moment to glance around. Inside, several sets of clothes were hanging on racks, as if they had been prepared in advance, and there was a separate changing space. It was literally a space where one could shop comfortably just by sitting and using hand gestures.
“Mr. Seo Yeon-woo.”
Yeon-woo’s wide-eyed observation of the space with his mouth agape was short-lived. He had to turn his head at Ki-won’s voice calling him.
“Can you come over here for a moment?”
Ki-won was standing in front of a long row of hangers. As Yeon-woo moved, Manager Park, who was standing next to him, also quietly followed.
“I asked them to pick out clothes that best suit Mr. Seo Yeon-woo’s image.”
Ki-won seemed to meticulously examine the suits hanging on the hangers, then turned his gaze to Yeon-woo.
“I think bright colors suit Mr. Seo Yeon-woo well, what do you think?”
“Don’t tell me I have to try on all of these…?”
If that was the case, there were too many. Startled, Yeon-woo tried hard to steady his trembling eyes.
“I’m really fine with wearing anything…”
Honestly, to his eyes, the colors and designs all looked the same for the suits. However, when seen through the eyes of an expert, there must have been something different, as Manager Park stepped forward and began to solve Yeon-woo’s dilemma.
“Since your spouse has very fair skin and delicate features, I think any design would suit him. I heard you’re going to the Sugang Industry event, so I have some styles I’ve set aside. Would you like to take a look?”
“Yes, please show me.”
When Yeon-woo eagerly seized this opportunity, Manager Park smiled slightly and pointed to the sofa.
“If you sit down, I’ll categorize and bring them to you.”
Relieved, Yeon-woo sat on the sofa with Ki-won. In the meantime, Manager Park took out three or four suits and hung them on an additional rack brought in by a staff member.
It didn’t take long for Manager Park to stand in front of the two again. Seeming to have finished organizing, a staff member pulling the rack and the manager stood at an appropriate distance from the sofa. Yeon-woo listened to Manager Park’s explanation while sipping the herbal tea brought out at a similar time.
“This product is a new release from L brand. Only one set has been brought to Korea, so there’s no need to worry about having the same style as others attending the event. As you can see, rather than being too bright like an ivory color, it has a toned-down feeling, allowing for a calm atmosphere when styling.”
Even after listening to the explanation, Yeon-woo couldn’t understand what the difference was from other clothes, but he kept nodding as if he understood. Satisfied with Yeon-woo’s reaction, the manager smiled subtly and took out the second and third suits to continue the explanation. All three products were described as rare, having been touched by the hands of famous designers.
“If there are no designs you like among these, please feel free to let me know. I can show you other products as well.”
The nuance was that she could immediately contact other brand stores and bring additional clothes if needed. Since Yeon-woo’s eye for fashion wasn’t keen enough to waste time, he hastily shook his head. If an expert had already set them aside and explained them, it proved the value of the clothes was excellent, so he tried to choose appropriately.
“I think the first one looks the best. Don’t you think so too, hyung?”
“Black or navy would be fine too, but definitely.”
Although Ki-won said dark tones would be okay, Yeon-woo was well aware. He felt like he would inevitably end up looking awkward, as if wearing ill-fitting clothes, so he chose the brightest color possible, even if it was toned down.
“Your spouse has a keen eye.”
Praise followed, saying it was an excellent choice as it was the design L brand had put the most effort into. But each time, Yeon-woo grew more and more anxious. How much would it cost? He expected the price to be quite high since it was a luxury brand, but whenever he heard that there was only one set in Korea or that it was the designer’s masterpiece, he became worried.
“Excuse me.”
A voice interrupted Yeon-woo’s thoughts. An employee who had carefully entered from outside approached Ki-won directly. What was going on? Yeon-woo tilted his head, taking in the employee’s troubled appearance.
