Contract Marriage with Memory Loss on Top - Chapter 53
“Are you cold?”
As soon as the villa door opened, Yeon-woo swiftly pushed his body inside.
“I was going to say I’m fine, but I can’t bring myself to say it…”
Especially being in the mountains, the temperature was lower than in the city, and getting soaked in the rain made his whole body shiver. Yeon-woo, whose lips had also turned blue, kept burrowing into Ki-won’s arms in search of a hint of warmth. Even though it would be uncomfortable to walk with a partner stuck close like a cicada, Ki-won instead put his arm around Yeon-woo’s waist to make his body press even closer.
“Can I go in like this?”
“It’s a house, we can clean it up.”
Yeon-woo looked down at his state, completely drenched and dripping with water, and asked, but the answer was refreshing. Come to think of it, if only one person was wet, they could bring a towel, but since both of them were wet, it seemed okay to just go in as is. As he said, the rainwater dirtying the floor could be wiped up later.
Guided by Ki-won, Yeon-woo entered the living room. He had imagined a wooden house since it was a villa, but there wasn’t much difference from Ki-won’s house in Seoul. The marble floor, consistently maintained, was shiny, and the furniture was spotless without a single speck of dust, ready to be used right away.
“I think the boiler was inspected last month, but since we hardly use it, I’m not sure if it will work well. Just stay by the fire for now.”
Interestingly, perhaps because it was a villa, there was a fireplace installed on the living room wall. Yeon-woo, who was using a fireplace for the first time, only having seen it in movies, showed curiosity and sat on a chair. Perhaps because there was a heating mat laid on the chair, it quickly warmed his cold skin, making it much better.
“This is my first time actually using a fireplace.”
“Really? It’s not as special as you think.”
As the kindling caught fire, the flickering flames at the ends of the wood gradually grew larger. Thanks to the strong heating power, warmth circulated around it. Yeon-woo watched the color of his blue-tinted fingernails return to normal and let out a sigh of relief.
“It may not be special, but it feels quite impressive.”
Although he wasn’t curious enough to look around here and there, he still felt a unique atmosphere.
“I’ll bring you a towel and dry clothes.”
“Oh, do you have my size too?”
In response to Yeon-woo’s question, Ki-won only showed a faint smile. I guess not. Still, it wasn’t a big concern. As long as the top fit, and if the pants had an elastic waistband, he could somehow wear them.
“Please bring me elastic waist pants.”
“I wonder if there are any.”
“…I’ll have to hope there are.”
I hope there’s at least one pair of sweatpants. It seemed unlikely that such pants would be in the villa, but Yeon-woo didn’t lose hope.
With that, Ki-won disappeared somewhere, and Yeon-woo quietly stared at the flickering firelight. Perhaps because the surroundings were dry and there was heat, the mud on the hems of his pants had completely dried. Yeon-woo, who maintained a still posture for fear of accidentally dropping dirt on the floor, kept waiting for Ki-won to appear.
“Hmm, I tried to find the smallest size possible, but I’m not sure.”
Ki-won, who approached from behind, handed Yeon-woo two dry towels, a shirt, and pants. The first thing Yeon-woo checked was the pants. Unlike his expectations, they weren’t elastic waist pants.
‘They look like they definitely won’t fit…’
Even if he fixed the waist with a clothespin, although he could somehow manage, there seemed to be a limit in terms of length.
“I’ll go change and come back.”
Yeon-woo quietly moved to the room Ki-won had gone to. If he took even slightly larger steps, it seemed like the dry dirt would crumble and fall.
***
“I wonder if I can go out like this.”
Standing in front of the full-length mirror, Yeon-woo examined his outfit again. Yeon-woo had chosen to wear only the shirt. Of course, he tried to somehow wear the pants, but no matter what method he used, they kept slipping down, so he had no choice but to give up.
‘There don’t seem to be any clothespins either.’
No matter how many daily necessities there were, it didn’t seem like detailed items like clothespins were provided. The drawers he opened just in case, as expected, were all empty.
Is it really okay to go out? He judged that it would be better not to wear pants from the start than to have them come off while with Ki-won, but it wasn’t easy to move his feet.
Yeon-woo did various simulations in front of the mirror, such as turning around or sitting, repeatedly checking if it was okay. Fortunately, the shirt covered up to the middle of his thighs, so it didn’t look terrible.
– Yeon-woo, is something not working out?
Yeon-woo perked up his ears at the sound of Ki-won’s voice coming from outside. He must have taken too long. Yeon-woo tightly closed his eyes and grabbed the door handle. Yes, he had shown him worse things before, so the bottomless fashion was gentlemanly. Being grateful that he wasn’t naked, Yeon-woo opened the door.
“Ah, hyung…”
Now that he was actually facing him, embarrassment belatedly rose. No matter how much he tried to pull down the inflexible shirt, nothing would change, but Yeon-woo kept fiddling with the hem as if conscious of it.
“…Where are the pants?”
Ki-won seemed to be restraining himself from letting his eyes go down to Yeon-woo’s lower half.
“They were too big, so I couldn’t wear them. They kept falling down, so I just took them off.”
As the other person’s reaction was awkward, Yeon-woo’s gaze became unstable. Yeon-woo, out of embarrassment, talked to Ki-won while looking at the tip of his chin, then quickly turned his head.
“By the way, where’s the laundry room here? If there’s a dryer, it’ll dry quickly, so I want to put them in right away.”
“I’ll do it for you. Just go sit by the fireplace for now.”
“It’s okay for me to do this much…”
Ki-won tapped Yeon-woo’s nose and shook his head.
“If you don’t warm your body properly, you’ll catch a cold.”
“That would be troublesome…”
Yeon-woo, who instantly came to his senses, handed the clothes to Ki-won. He couldn’t afford to catch a cold and groan when there was so much to do. Ki-won watched Yeon-woo’s back as he ran towards the fire, then headed to the laundry room.
Perhaps because the bottom was empty, it felt different even though he sat on the same chair. Yeon-woo kept rubbing his legs that had gotten cold from not wearing anything, waiting for his body temperature to return.
‘Sleepy…’
In the quiet space, the only sounds were the rain and the burning of the bonfire, so his eyes kept trying to close. But he couldn’t come all the way here just to sleep. To drive away the sleepiness, Yeon-woo raised his cell phone with force in his eyes.
‘I wonder if the rest stop incident has leaked out.’
Although Ki-won would take care of it, he couldn’t help but worry. Yeon-woo searched the internet one by one for the rest stop, Ki-won’s name, and the company name to monitor if any strange posts or articles had been posted.
‘It’s really quiet…’
There were more than a couple of concerns since everyone was filming, but it was so quiet that it was as if the worries were in vain. It was thorough to the point where it wouldn’t be strange to say that the incident at the rest stop was Yeon-woo’s imagination.
“What are you thinking so hard about, Yeon-woo?”
Yeon-woo was only able to notice Ki-won’s presence after his hand appeared in front of his eyes. Yeon-woo, startled and jumping up, fixed his eyes on the teacup in his hand.
“Ah, just… I’m worried about the rest stop incident.”
He openly confessed that he was concerned about someone writing a malicious article or a video being uploaded on SNS and becoming a subject of ridicule. Then Ki-won handed the teacup to Yeon-woo, saying he was worrying for nothing.
“Drink the warm tea first, you need to warm your body.”
“What about you, hyung?”
“Mine is here.”
Ki-won pointed to the table right next to him. On the table was a steaming cup of coffee.
“Yeon-woo, you don’t have to worry so much.”
“Will it really be okay even if I do…?”
Just because he was concerned didn’t mean an incident would occur, but anxious feelings kept poking at his chest. Ki-won, who pulled a chair and sat down after seating Yeon-woo, opened his mouth as usual.
“I’ve already taken measures to prevent this matter from leaking out, and even if there’s a problem, it will be dealt with quickly.”
So that’s possible. Things he only saw in movies seemed to be Ki-won’s everyday life. Yeon-woo recalled the cell phone angles aimed at the gangster, Ki-won, and himself, and swallowed dry saliva. Although no one helped, the cell phones were diligently pointed in this direction, which once again sent chills down his spine.
“It’s easy to make what existed disappear and what didn’t exist appear.”
“You seem really amazing, hyung.”
People with power are indeed different. Yeon-woo muttered as if talking to himself. At the same time, he realized that Ki-won was a scary person to that extent. As he said, Kwon Ki-won was capable of creating something from nothing and nothing from something.
“How’s your wrist?”
As if trying to change the mood, Ki-won naturally changed the subject. Hearing Ki-won’s question, Yeon-woo raised his wrist and looked at it from side to side as if checking its condition.
“The swelling is still the same, but the pain has definitely decreased. It really seems like just applying a pain relief patch will do, right?”
He thought that if he slept for a day or two, it would become energetic as if nothing had happened. Yeon-woo reassured Ki-won, letting him know that it was really a shallow wound.
