Chapter 03: Qi Yue’s Weak Spot
Qi Weixiong was furious, pointing his finger at Qi Yue and hurriedly patting his own chest.
“Fine, you don’t want to go, huh? If you dare not to go, then forget about this thing!”
With that, Qi Weixiong pulled something out of his pocket—a key.
Qi Yue’s pupils trembled slightly. With just one glance, he knew exactly what this key was for.
“I was wondering where it went. Turns out it was stolen by my dear father…”
“Stop the nonsense. Do you still want your mother’s legacy? If you do, then behave well during the blind date. It wasn’t easy for us to arrange this. If you dare to mess it up, you can forget about ever getting this thing!”
Qi Yue clenched his fist at his side. He was twenty years old now, still in college, but he was no longer afraid of Qi Weixiong. He could survive on his own.
But he never expected Qi Weixiong to use this thing to threaten him. Qi Yue gritted his teeth.
He could ignore everything else, but his mother’s last possession was his only weak spot.
Hmph, they really understood each other well.
“What? Don’t want it anymore? Then I’ll have someone melt this key down.”
“You dare!”
“If you want it, then go. Get ready now. Look at yourself. The appointment is at six in the afternoon. I’ll have the driver take you there.”
Qi Weixiong spoke with unwavering certainty, firmly telling Qi Yue.
“Qi Yue, your father is doing this for your own good…”
“Shut up. You don’t get to talk here.”
Qi Yue gave Guo Xia a cold glance and then spoke hoarsely to Qi Weixiong, “I’ll go, but if you don’t give me the key back, I can’t guarantee what might happen.”
With that, Qi Yue went straight upstairs.
“Bang!”
The door to the second floor room made a loud noise, revealing Qi Yue’s anger.
But he had no choice. His mother’s legacy was the pillar of his belief, something he couldn’t abandon no matter what.
After Qi Yue left, Qi Weixiong slammed his palm on the ebony table.
“This disobedient child really makes me furious!”
“Don’t be angry. He’s still acting all smart in front of us. Once the crisis is over, Xiao Yue will still have to listen to you~”
Guo Xia immediately approached Qi Weixiong, sitting beside him and gently calming him down.
“Hmph, if it wasn’t for him still being somewhat useful, I would have kicked him out of the house long ago. It’s Lei Lei who makes me feel at ease.”
Back in his room, Qi Yue lifted his hand to touch the delicate jade pendant hanging from his neck.
Even though Qi Weixiong had found his weak spot, Qi Yue couldn’t just obediently follow their wishes.
Since the marriage in his dream had actually come true, did this mean that the Qi family was on the brink of bankruptcy?
Hmph, Qi Weixiong couldn’t possibly be naive enough to think that arranging a marriage for him would revive the Qi family, right?
Such people didn’t deserve him.
At noon, Qi Yue had his meal in his own room. He never ate with that group of people.
At four thirty in the afternoon, while he was still trying to digest his dream, someone knocked on his door.
Since he suspected that the dream might be true, he still had some recollection of it. He had recorded the important events from the dream in his phone’s memo.
“Master, Master said you should get ready. It’s time to leave.”
“It’s only four thirty. What’s the rush?”
“That’s what the Master said.”
It seemed like the Qi family was truly desperate now, rushing to sell their son for glory.
When Qi Yue appeared downstairs in casual attire, Qi Weixiong was about to lose his temper, but Qi Yue blocked him.
“Not satisfied? If you’re not satisfied, then go by yourself. If that doesn’t work, send your bastard son.”
As soon as they met, neither of them had a good expression on their faces. In the end, Qi Yue sat expressionlessly in the back seat of the car.
Qi Weixiong watched grimly as the car drove away.
“I really don’t know what the Shen family sees in this kid. He’s just lucky.”
