Chapter 02: Dreams Come True
Several days passed, and just when Qi Yue was about to dismiss the dream from the other day as nothing, the events from the dream unexpectedly came true.
Early one morning, Qi Yue’s door was knocked, and the voice of a servant echoed inside.
“Master, Madam is looking for you.”
Though he was not in the mood to get up, it didn’t mean he wanted to see those two now.
Qi Yue didn’t respond, pulling the blanket over his head, enveloping himself completely.
“Master? Master, it’s time to get up. Madam is waiting.”
He seemed to be trying to block out the noisy sounds from outside with the blanket.
“If you’re still not awake, I’ll come in.”
With that, Qi Yue heard the sound of the door handle being turned. However, he had the habit of locking it from the inside, so the servant outside naturally couldn’t open it.
But this also let Qi Yue know that his cheap old man and stepmother wouldn’t give up until they saw him this morning.
“I got it.”
He wanted to see what kind of performance his usually neglectful old man had prepared for today.
After washing up, Qi Yue went downstairs.
His old man and cheap stepmother had already had breakfast and were waiting for him on the sofa in the living room.
Once downstairs, Qi Yue headed straight to the dining room.
Those two had finished breakfast, but he hadn’t eaten yet; he wouldn’t starve himself for anyone.
“Qi Yue, what’s with this attitude!”
Qi Weixiong scolded displeasedly.
His cheap old man always cared about his face. His son not giving him face in front of his woman would naturally make him angry.
Qi Yue had long mastered the skill of filtering out noise at home and went to the kitchen to get his own breakfast.
“Weixiong, don’t be angry, don’t be angry. It’s not good to get angry early in the morning.”
“The child probably is hungry; after all, he didn’t come home for dinner last night. Maybe he ate less yesterday evening. Let Qi Yue eat first. After he’s full, we can talk~”
Guo Xia hugged her husband’s arm, leaning softly against him.
Qi Weixiong also knew that his son didn’t listen to him and that today they needed a favor from someone.
He scolded him just now because he didn’t want to lose face, but now his wife handed him a way out, so Qi Weixiong followed suit.
“Hmph, it seems like this kid is getting more and more ignorant as he grows up. How did I raise such a useless brat! Leilei is the only sensible one.”
Qi Yue let them chatter on while he enjoyed his breakfast as usual.
Even if he didn’t hear what they were saying, he could guess it definitely wasn’t anything good.
After all, over the past ten years, he was very clear about the character of this cheating old man.
“Does it take a year to finish a meal? Hurry up; even elderly people eat faster than you!”
Half an hour passed, and Qi Weixiong gradually lost patience, getting up directly and heading to the dining room.
Seeing his eldest son sitting at the table, leisurely and ungracefully, Qi Weixiong’s temper flared up instantly.
Qi Yue meticulously wiped each of his fingers clean before looking up at Qi Weixiong.
“What? Am I starving to death? Why do I have to eat as if I haven’t eaten in centuries, banging the bowl around like you’re in a rush to be reborn? Others would think you’re eating as if you’re in a hurry to reincarnate~”
Qi Yue, having finished his meal, was not polite at all.
You scolded him early in the morning, now it’s his turn.
“You! You disrespectful child, is this how you talk to your father!”
“Look at how you’re talking. I’m disrespectful? Then what are you? The disrespectful father? The old disrespectful one.”
“You ungrateful child!”
Qi Weixiong, with his beer belly protruding, raised his hand as if to strike Qi Yue’s head.
The fat on his arm trembled with the movement.
The scene was just too beautiful, too unbearable to look at directly.
For this middle-aged man, Qi Weixiong, who rarely exercised, Qi Yue could easily overpower him with just one hand.
He slapped away Qi Weixiong’s fat hand, sneering, “Wow, father’s abilities are really growing. Not only is he cheating, but now he’s also being violent. I wonder if Auntie Guo Xia has any objections?”
Guo Xia, the woman who became his stepmother after his mother’s passing, also gave birth to Qi Lei, a bastard son one year younger than Qi Yue.
When Qi Weixiong came over, Guo Xia followed suit.
But she was eager for Qi Weixiong to discipline Qi Yue more; the more she couldn’t stand Qi Yue, the happier she felt.
Guo Xia, who had been watching this drama, didn’t expect the conversation to suddenly shift to her.
“Does she dare!”
Qi Weixiong’s machoism surged up instantly. Almost as soon as Qi Yue mentioned this topic, Qi Weixiong reflexively retorted.
“And you, if you don’t apologize to me properly today, then get out of this house!”
“You forgot?”
In the past, Guo Xia would have fully supported the idea of kicking Qi Yue out of the house. She might have even celebrated with fireworks.
But times had changed. Qi Yue still had great utility to them now. They couldn’t afford to make a fuss.
So Guo Xia discreetly pulled on Qi Weixiong’s sleeve from behind, reminding him quietly.
Qi Weixiong also came to his senses. In the past, he would have definitely disciplined Qi Yue severely.
“I won’t pursue this matter today. Your mother and I have something to discuss with you.”
Qi Weixiong’s unusual behavior made Qi Yue even more disgusted. This was clearly not coming from a good place.
“You tell him.”
Qi Weixiong turned to Guo Xia and said, then he went to the sofa in the living room and sat down with his legs apart.
Hearing Qi Weixiong’s words, Guo Xia approached Qi Yue with a smile on her face and said, “Xiao Yue, since you like men, your father and I think since it’s an unchangeable fact, we should introduce you to some good families. We can’t let you find someone on your own again and end up with someone like that~”
“Tsk, since when did my business become your concern?”
Qi Yue didn’t bother to listen further. He found it ridiculous, and these two were definitely up to no good.
Ever since Qi Weixiong found out that he liked men when he was seventeen, he became increasingly disdainful of him, even threatening to kick him out of the house if he dared to like men.
Now they were talking about introducing him to a good family…
Suddenly, the scene from his dream flashed through Qi Yue’s mind.
No way?!
Could this melodramatic dream actually come true?
Qi Yue’s heart surged with emotions, but he just twitched his lips slightly.
Qi Weixiong, sitting on the sofa, slammed the armrest heavily and shouted towards the dining room, “Stop talking nonsense with him! Qi Yue, you’re going on this blind date today whether you like it or not!”
“Wow, we have plenty of mirrors at home. Mr. Qi, how can you be so blind? With a face this big, do you still need others to tell you? Don’t you ever look at yourself in the mirror?”
