I Became The Academy’s Pure Love Dark Knight - Chapter 13
Chapter 13 – World Where Only I Don’t Have Mana Is Wrong -2
A large cross adorned the center of the wall in the classroom.
A place like a cathedral with stained glass.
This was the location for the last lecture of the day, <Understanding Divine Power>. Four statues stood in a row around the podium.
“Hello, my lambs.”
A nun with short, golden hair entered through the front door.
The rhythmic clicking of her heels. She was wearing shoes.
“I’m Beatrice. I’m in charge of the Theology lecture for the first time.”
Another new face. She had her eyes narrowed, so I couldn’t see their color, but
she was wearing a black nun’s habit, so she definitely wasn’t the person I was looking for. Was she really not at this academy?
‘I thought I’d find her if I took this class.’
I looked around. There was still no one with wolf ears.
The only people around me were the oblivious Hero, the tsundere Elf, and the taciturn Glass Knight.
The Crown Prince had wolf ears, but according to my memories of the game, they were common among beastkin.
…That person was definitely not her. I would bet anything on it.
“…What are you doing?”
“Nothing.”
Their senses were sharp.
They looked straight at me even though I only glanced at them for a moment. As expected of someone with the blood of the Ten Swords, perhaps it was genetic.
“My lambs, what do you think divine power is?”
“Isn’t it the power of faith in God? Like Tardun or… Akasha?”
Ariel answered enthusiastically, but the narrow-eyed nun didn’t even react.
“Incorrect. I’ll show you an example.”
The professor then brought something out from behind her. A moving creature the size of a watermelon.
‘Wait, isn’t that…?’
I leaned forward, feeling a strange sensation.
“…A Fox Slime.”
“Why did she suddenly bring out a 1-star monster?”
“Strange.”
What was a monster doing in a Theology class? The four of us shared the same feeling that something was wrong. The slime in the nun’s arms was smiling, its eyes crinkled.
‘The mascot of <Knight Heart Trilogy>.’
A slime with fox ears and a tail. A harmless monster that loved people. A cute, fox-like monster with various facial expressions.
It was one of the Nameless Saint’s favorites.
After placing the slime a distance away, she returned to the podium.
“Divine power is not a power that comes from believing in God. If it were, this wouldn’t be allowed.”
A shining bow and arrow materialized in Beatrice’s hands, and she aimed them at the Fox Slime she had placed down.
The poor monster trembled. I was speechless at her actions, unbefitting of a professor.
“Uh…?”
“What’s that, Licht? What am I seeing?”
“Ha. Really…”
“What’s going on? Is she… going to shoot it?”
The atmosphere in the classroom became restless, and a cold air filled the room.
In this sudden, tense situation, a past memory flashed through my mind.
[Did you know? Fox Slimes are most afraid of being attacked by humans. It’s so cute. Poor thing.]
I remembered what she had said when I gave her a large Fox Slime doll as a gift. I felt uneasy.
‘Damn it.’
Not all monsters in this game were bad. The Platinum Wolf had said so.
My body reacted before I could think.
Third Form.
Shedding Wings.
I immediately dashed forward and deflected the arrow shot with divine power. The projectile, concentrated with light, dug into the floor, and I felt something strange on my fingertips.
“Oh my, this is unexpected. I didn’t expect four students to step forward. There are many promising individuals among this year’s freshmen.”
Beatrice chuckled as if she hadn’t intended to harm it.
“I believe there are separate training slimes, Professor.”
Lowering my sword, I felt puzzled. The impact was indeed weak. As if she had aimed just in front of the slime.
She seemed to have anticipated this.
“Of course there are. But I wanted to see your humanity.”
This was absurd. So she did this to test us? This is why you shouldn’t trust narrow-eyed characters.
Wait, four people?
‘…? Why is there a glass wall in front of me?’
I was bewildered, seeing a large, mirror-like barrier that hadn’t been there before.
“That was too much.”
Golden eyes gleaming, another knight stood in front of the slime. It was Mardol. My affinity with the Crown Prince increased.
“This teaching method is wrong!”
“That’s too much. It’s just a harmless monster. People even keep them as pets…”
Kainel and Ariel stood behind me. The slime was now nestled in the red-haired mage’s arms. It seemed to have calmed down, unlike before.
“My eyes weren’t mistaken.”
*Clap, clap.*
Then, I heard applause.
“Excellent. Kainel, Ariel, Mardol, Licht… Good.”
The professor praised the four of us who had stepped forward. A chill ran down my spine at her forced smile, her lips curving upwards while her eyes remained the same.
“I believe this kind of humanity, more than being good at healing, is a fundamental quality of heroes. Well done.”
She was a bit twisted. Did she go through a lot on the battlefield? Like Dennis?
I glared at Beatrice as she approached Ariel without a change in expression.
She stood in front of the Mage of the Blazing Flame.
“Divine power is the realization of a wish made with reason. That’s why I wanted to test your hearts.”
“W-What are you going to do now?!”
“Don’t worry. I wasn’t aiming for the slime from the beginning.”
She gently stroked the Fox Slime and clasped her hands in prayer. Light gathered again and rained down on the slime like snow.
The slime flinched slightly, then regained its energy and bounced around on the floor. It seemed to be no longer afraid, leaving the mage’s arms.
“This kind of prejudice often arises because most people who believe in God are high-ranking priests or clergymen.”
The clicking of her heels echoed as she returned to the podium and continued.
“But there are also many people who do bad things in the name of God. I’m telling you this as a warning, so don’t misunderstand.”
The nun smiled sweetly.
“It’s better to experience it firsthand than to hear about it.”
Was she referring to the cult that appeared as villains? So they existed in this timeline too. I sighed.
“Today, let’s learn the healing prayer you just saw.”
She wasn’t ending this class early. Why a full lecture? Memories of the past surfaced. The first orientation in college was supposed to be short.
“The easiest way is to think of your strongest desire. If you don’t have one, you can pray to God.”
The short-haired professor clasped her hands again.
If I knew her last name, I would know what role she played in <Knight Heart> or <Black Heart>. Such a unique character would definitely reappear.
But this was the past. There were many things I didn’t know.
‘I can’t be sure yet.’
Mardol hadn’t triggered a rivalry event either, so I had to be more careful.
We returned to our seats.
Beatrice gave a small nod, as if she wouldn’t cause any more trouble.
We started to pray.
Wait, couldn’t I raise Ariel and Kainel’s Romance Meter with this?
“Ariel.”
“Do you want to be burned to a crisp, Licht? Shall I incinerate you?”
“No. I’m sorry.”
Ugh, failure.
She must have been upset about yesterday’s incident. Well, it was understandable, considering she even got a piggyback ride from her childhood friend. I changed my target.
“Kainel.”
“Why don’t you think of that white-haired person of yours?”
“Let’s stop, I… I give up…”
This didn’t work either. I couldn’t even get a choice out of the oblivious Yellow Dog. Defeated, I hung my head.
“White-haired?”
“…”
The Crown Prince heard it too. Kainel, I’ll see you later. It would be bad if they developed a love line with the Saint.
If she entered the harem route, she would be tragically abandoned. A supporting character couldn’t compete with the other heroines.
The other heroines’ event CGs and fully dubbed videos, filled with power? The Platinum Wolf didn’t have those.
She had to end up with someone who only had eyes for her.
‘This is a mess.’
Sighing deeply, I closed my eyes and clasped my hands. I focused on learning the healing prayer, hoping I might have divine power even without magic power.
No one could match my single-minded devotion.

Phine tilted her head repeatedly, observing Licht. He couldn’t see her because his eyes were closed. [T/N: I will use Phine instead of Fine from now on]
‘White hair…’
No matter how she thought about it, it was the color of her own hair. She looked down at her armor.
A custom-made piece from the Imperial family that blocked all magic. Masterpiece-level equipment wouldn’t be pierced.
‘Could it be… that he has good eyesight like me?’
Just now, his instantaneous judgment was superior to hers. She thought he might be stronger than her. Her fists clenched.
‘Or another Masterpiece-level item. Interesting.’
She looked at the Black Knight’s helmet. Her wolf ears twitched inside her helmet as she concentrated on the man’s voice, muttering something with his eyes closed tightly.
A slightly deep and low voice.
“Please… let me protect her this time.”
His desperate demeanor sparked her intense curiosity. Her tail twitched slightly inside her armor.
Phine turned her head, trying to hide her instinctive reaction.
‘The stance I saw earlier… was it defensive?’
She replayed the scene she had just witnessed in her mind.
Swordsmanship created to hunt flying dragons.
It could definitely fill the gaps in her own skills.
‘Even if you’re the Emperor’s daughter, it won’t do!! You have too much mana, so it’s better for you to use magic!’
She remembered being rejected when she asked Drake to teach her as a child.
His hearty laughter. His sly smile remained vivid in her memory.
“Mardol? Aren’t you going to pray?”
Beatrice gestured for Phine to clasp her hands.
She looked around. It seemed like she was the only one not praying.
“Hmm.”
The Glass Knight didn’t like this person, but since the two next to them were also praying, they thought they should try it too.
I just had to think of a wish. They only had one.
‘I have to become stronger.’
Finally, Phine closed her eyes and clasped her hands.
Four individuals, each with different mindsets, tried to learn the healing prayer.
