200 years of love ~The noble lady, betrayed by the prince and banished to the past~ - Chapter 6
6.Life, a month later
一A Month Later
A month has passed since I was sent to the past. There are still many things I don’t know, but I can do more things now and I’m getting used to my daily life.
I’ve gotten better at mopping my room and wiping every inch of the furniture to keep the dust away. Cooking is still a challenge, but I’m getting better at chopping vegetables and making sunny-side eggs. I’ve never done housework before, but it’s a good exercise and I feel good about myself.
The best part is that I feel a sense of accomplishment in doing such mundane things.
Mikhail was also a good teacher, and I was grateful that he was willing to teach me everything he knows carefully without showing any displeasure, and he always thanked me when I helped him with housework or other tasks, which motivated me to work even harder.
At first I had some reservations, but now we have gotten to know each other very well and have become close friends.
Since I was sent to the past, I have been living a surprisingly fulfilling life, even though I sometimes have nightmares.
Considering that I was sent here penniless and alone, it is a miracle that I am able to live peacefully without worrying about food, clothing, or shelter. Once again, I appreciated Mikhail’s kindness.
“I’m really glad that the first person I met here was you, Mikhail. Thank you for not abandoning me”
After dinner, we were enjoying a nice cup of herbal tea together where I began to express my gratitude once more.
“I’ve never thought of abandoning you, and I’m glad I could be of help to you”
He looked away and answered. I’m not sure if I’m embarrassed or not, but I giggled when I saw the tips of his ears becoming red.
“Mikhail-san is my benefactor. I’ll never forget it, even if I return safely to my world.”
“…”
Mikhail suddenly went silent.
“Mr. Mikhail….?”
“….. No, I was just doing the obvious. I’ll be happy to lend a hand until the day you return to your world”
Despite his words, his expression was dark, and his eyes seemed to be looking somewhere in the distance.
“Thank you very much…… ah, you are taking me to pick herbs tomorrow, right? I’m going to sleep early today”
My heart ached for some reason at Mikhail’s sad face. I tried to change the subject to cover it up, and then quickly cleaned the cup and ran upstairs to my room.
“I’ll be happy…?”
Mikhail’s eyes emitted sadness as he looked over Lunaria’s back, and the words that escaped his lips echoed in the empty room, where he sat alone.
