4.Encounter with the wizard Mikhail (2)

I walked for a while, guided by Mikhail till we arrived at a small house. The small house was a two-story building on top of a hill, surrounded by trees. Once I entered the room, I saw that there were books and wildflowers scattered everywhere, probably for studying magic.

“I apologize for the mess”

Mikhail apologized, opened the window, cleared away the bunches of herbs that were spread out on the table, and pulled out a chair for me.

“Please, take a seat. I’ll brew us some tea first”

Mikhail filled a glass teapot with tea leaves and placed his hand over it. Suddenly, hot steam gushed out of the teapot, and the tea leaves danced around in the water. He said he was a magic researcher, but he certainly seemed to be able to use magic.

After a while, the water shade turned darker, and Mikhail poured some freshly brewed tea into a teacup and placed it in front of me.

“It’s herbal tea. I hope it suits your taste”

“Thank you for the tea. I will enjoy it”

The refreshing scent of citrus fruits drifted from the cup and entered my nose. As I took a sip, the refreshing flavor danced throughout my mouth, I felt my taste buds getting excited and I felt my stiff body starting to loosen up.

“This is the first time I experienced this flavor, but it is very delicious.”

The warm tea and the gentle care of the man naturally brought a sincere smile to my face.

“I’m glad to hear that. Now that you’ve finally calmed down, would you like to tell me your story?”

Moved by Mikhail’s gentle tone, I began to talk about the series of events that happened to me.

“…… I see. You’re a marquise daughter and you’ve been framed by an evil prince and a malicious woman and now, you’ve been transmigrated to this world which happens to be two hundred years in the past”

“Yes, well, I know this is hard to believe, but-”

“From your refined manners, there is no doubt that you are a noblewoman. Besides, that extraordinary glow of magical power was quite powerful. Although the magic of time transfer has not yet been refined in this era, if we are talking about two hundred years from now, it may be possible. I believe you completely”

“Thank you!”

“Nevertheless, you can go back in three months?”

“Yes, but I don’t have any money on me, so I need you to tell me where I can find a church or some other place where I can stay for a while”

I asked him in an apologetic tone if he knew of any place where I could find a temporary accommodation, to which Mikhail replied with a thinking look.

“There is no church in this village, and these are poor areas, so if you’re a woman alone, you might get caught up in some shady human trafficking. You have quite a noticeable beauty”

‘Indeed, my hair color was unusual among the nobility, so I might stand out quite a bit in the village’

I let out a small sigh as I remembered my own appearance.

Lunaria had silky platinum-blonde hair, shining deep blue eyes, and smooth white porcelain skin. Her hair and skin had become a bit dull after living in prison for a while, but she was still as eye-catchingly beautiful as ever.

Mikhail was silent for a while and then he muttered to himself.

“You can stay in this house….. I’ve a spare room.”

“Eh! But I would be a burden to you”

“No, it’s not. This is also a fate, and I can’t overlook someone in need. Ah, of course, that’s if you don’t hate the idea”

I felt a sense of familiarity with the way Mikhail was explaining himself in a hurry again.

I could sense his kindness, and he believed my story without doubt, and tried to help me. I only want to be able to remain alive for the next three months, and relying on Mikhail might be the best way possible.

“Then, I will take upon your offer and be in your care for a while. I’ll do everything I can to avoid getting in your way”

“Yeah, I’ll be in your care as well”

“Thank you very much, Mikhail-san.”

Thus the shared living of Lunaria and Mikhail began.
