200 years of love ~The noble lady, betrayed by the prince and banished to the past~ - Chapter 2
2.Transmigration to the Past
When we arrived at the transmigration chamber, the priest stood outside the room, while the magician took my hand and led me into the room. Inside the room, the walls and ceiling were covered with some kind of pattern that looked like a barrier, and a large magic circle was drawn on the floor.
I wondered if the sentence would really be carried out and I would be sent back to the past all alone. I hadn’t seen my family since the day I was thrown in jail. I felt unbearably lonely, and a single tear that I had been holding back for quite some time ran silently down my face.
“…… Miss Lunaria.”
I looked up at the source of the voice and saw the male magician staring at me.
“You are innocent.”
My eyes widened in surprise. Someone knows that I’m innocent. Perhaps if he would speak up, he could get the sentence revoked? A small glimmer of hope appeared in my heart, which would soon be extinguished.
“……, but I’m sorry. You must be sent back in time. It is necessary for your own protection. Although, it is also for my sake.”
The magician gently squeezed my hand as my last hope was destroyed and my eyes were only filled with despair.
“I will summon you back in three months, so please endure until then. I will definitely save you. You are a person who deserves to be happy”, the priest held my hands and said with a determined tone.
His hands were even colder than mine, and they were slightly trembling, but his eyes, which could be seen through his robes, were filled with a firm determination.
“I’m not going to transfer you to the forest but to a place where there are people, so please don’t worry. Also, this is a guardian stone pendant. I want you to keep it close to your body at all times.”
I could feel the magician’s hands around my neck as he carefully put the pendant. The pendant was completely blue in color and a soft creamy white moonstone was right in the middle of it.
“I’m sure you’ll go through some hard times but please, do not lose hope and believe in me.”
I gripped the pendant that hung over my chest. It was true that I’m sad, frustrated, anxious, and worried. However, I felt like I should believe in his words. Although I might be betrayed again, I didn’t want to be sent back to the past feeling hopeless and desperate.
If I didn’t cling to some reason, I would lose my reason for living.
“…… I understand. I believe in you.”
With that, Lunaria stood in the center of the magic circle as the magician recited a long and lengthy spell. The magic circle emitted a dazzling light and in the next moment, both the light and Lunaria were gone.

The magician Cain, who was left alone in the transmigration room, muttered to himself.
“…… Three more months.”
When he took off his hood roughly, his glossy jet-black hair was revealed. His face had a dark expression and his golden eyes were burning with rage.
“I knew what those two were up to something, but I had no idea it was this bad…..”
He recalled the nightmarish trial that had taken place in the judgment room. Whenever he heard the malicious words of the foolish couple, the first prince and that baron’s daughter, he desperately suppressed his magic power from going wild due to unbearable rage that threatened to spill out.
If he closed his eyes, he could see the image of the girl, who was in despair and trembling with fear, but who had bravely endured the unjustified accusations of the so-called crime. He could still feel her warmth in his hands, when they had briefly touched each other. The beautiful girl that he longed for, yearned for, and swore to protect with everything he had.
‘I will never make her look so sad again. I want you to show me that lovely, innocent smile again. But in order to do so, I must eliminate the fools who are trying to harm you’
Cain clenched his fists, left the room, and replied to the priest who was waiting for him outside.
“The transmigration procedure has been carried out successfully.”
The priest nodded and hurried back to report to the high priest.
“Keep your guard down for as long as you want”
Cain said quietly as he stared at the back of the priest, as the fire of the candlestick behind him flickered wildly.
