200 years of love ~The noble lady, betrayed by the prince and banished to the past~ - Chapter 10
10.The attraction between the two of us
Two months have passed since Lunaria had been transported to the past and ever since that day, when she realized that she was in love with Mikhail, she had suppressed her growing feelings and acted as usual.
Mikhail, who still cared about Lunaria in many ways, seemed to have drawn an imaginary line between her and him and didn’t try to narrow the distance between them any more than he had to.
“Mr. Mikhail, we’re almost out of sweet root herb, so I’ll go get some more from the storage.”
Lunaria, who had been standing in front of the herb cabinet checking the inventory, was about to get up to go to the storage room when she was suddenly struck by dizziness and started staggering.
‘Ah, I’m going to fall!’
Her body didn’t listen to her thoughts and she was prepared for the impact of the fall, but soon, she felt a strong, firm hand supporting her.
“Mr. Mikhail, I’m sorry….”
Lunaria apologised and expressed her gratitude to Mikhail for his help, but she saw that his expression was grim.
“You’re a bit feverish. Maybe it’s because the weather has suddenly turned cold lately. You don’t need to worry about it, so go to your room and get some rest.” Mikhail said while gently taking Lunaria in his arms.
“Mr. Mi-Mikhail, I’m fine. I can walk on my own!” Although Lunaria spoke desperately, Mikhail didn’t seem to be listening to her and continued walking. He went straight to Lunaria’s room and gently lowered her onto the bed.
“I’ll bring you some medicine right away, so please rest quietly.”
“Okay……”
Being held in Mikhail’s arms, she became embarrassed and she could almost feel her fever increasing slightly.
After that, Mikhail nursed her diligently by bringing her fever-reducing medicine and cooling her forehead with a wet towel. In the evening, he brought her a bowl of soup for dinner and even fed her, which made her even more embarrassed.
At night, the fever had subsided, and she was sound asleep in her bed. While sleeping, Lunaria had a dream. It was a nightmare that she had often had since she had been transported to the past.
She was in a warm place, but suddenly someone grabbed her tightly by the arm and dragged her out into a cold, dark place. In front of her, Ares and Nora were looking down at her with distorted faces, and they were throwing heartless insults at her.
She wanted to tell them that she was innocent, but no matter how hard she tried to scream, her voice wouldn’t reach them. Tears streamed down her face endlessly as pain and despair took over her mind.
I didn’t do anything! So why do I have to go through this?!
Somebody help me! Please believe in me!
“……-ria!! Lunaria!!”
“Mr. Mikhail? Why…?”
“I came to change the water in the basin, and I saw that you were having a nightmare….”
With a worried look on his face, Mikhail gently brushed Lunaria’s cheek as she woke up and gently wiped away the traces of tears with his fingers.
“I was dreaming about that day when I was condemned for a crime I didn’t commit.” Mikhail silently caressed her head as he listened to her.
“I was surrounded by people with cold eyes. No one cared about my life, and I was terrified..”
The despair, fear, and anger of that day came flooding back to her and as the fever had weakened her already, she couldn’t control her rising emotions and burst into tears again.
“No one believed me, no one helped me!”
As Lunaria cried like a little child, Mikhail gently wrapped her in a deep embrace.
“I believe in you and I will help you. I will protect you so that you will not be hurt anymore. I love you.”
“Mr. Mikhail…”
“In the beginning, I was trying to be kind and was doing my best to help you get back to your world. However, the more time I spent with you, the more I was drawn to the way you tried to live your life, even though you were unreasonably transported to the past. I didn’t want to let go of you. I’m sorry and I know this will only trouble you more but I couldn’t keep my feelings locked up anymore.”
As silence descended upon them, the sound of a heart beating filled the air, making Lunaria wonder whose heart was beating faster. Lunaria wrapped her arms around Mikhail and hugged him tightly.
“I like you too, Mr. Mikhail and I don’t want to leave you.”
“I love you, Lunaria.”
Mikhail carefully laid Lunaria, who had fallen asleep in his arms before he knew it, on the bed as if he were handling a fragile object and gently kissed her on the forehead.
As Mikhail kissed Lunaria’s forehead, the sound of the chirping of the autumn insects, outside the window, started.
?????
At a different place, a different time-line.
At the lounge in the royal palace, a man with blond hair and purple eyes and a sorcerer in a black robe faced each other.
“I’ve cast a spell to prevent eavesdropping so why don’t we have a genuine conversation, Your Highness, the Second Prince Cedric?”
“Does that mean that the Duchy will join my side? Cain Lowell, son of the Duke of Lowell and the chief magician of the Royal Court.”
“It depends on what His Highness Cedric has in mind.” Cain smiled fearlessly as he took out several documents from his robe.
“‘Here you go.”
“This is-! Hmm..Let’s hear what you want.”
With a smirk, Cain’s eyes narrowed into slits and announced his request with a determined attitude.
“I ask you to restore the honor of the Marquise daughter, Lunaria Farris, and allow her to be transported back from the past.”
